Well, ok. I will not do so anymore. Basically I thought 10 to 11 pm IST was nearly a time when all important time zones may be somewaht active.( Nobleeagle's requested some time ago to consider NRIs!). Next question by 8 pm IST tomorrow. BTW, Kolkata is FAC. Could you please say something, if you wish to? Bye.--Dwaipayanc 18:58, 23 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bhadani[edit]

Hi Gurubrahma - is it possible that you know any contact information and can contact Bhadaniji? I'm increasingly worried about him, especially now that he hasn't replied to the mails sent by ImpuMozhi and me. It is close to a month since he's been absent, so it can't be an emergency that's keeping him away. I sincerely pray that nothing is wrong, but I'm entirely helpless in this issue. Rama's Arrow 06:01, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

He mentioned about a possible move to Kolkata in June, but I can't understand why anything should keep him entirely away from an activity which he regularly worked on for one year. Living in Bangalore, perhaps you know of a practical and prudent way to trace him. Rama's Arrow 06:03, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Really Gurubrahma, I was not aware that my absence shall make so many persons worried. I shall shortly me e-mailing my contact phone number/ contact phone number of one of my relatives working in TCS to a select few. Still I always remember that: Life and death are one and the same thing - I am back and one day I shall go for ever: life is a flow and it shall continue to flow... --Bhadani 07:18, 26 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

DYK[edit]

Updated DYK query Did you know? has been updated. A fact from the article Kongara Jaggayya, which you recently created, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Gurubrahma, could you please take a look at the recent edits on this article. My most recent version, which was reverted contains links to support claims of 70 million persons, as well as largest religious gathering on earth. --BostonMA 14:25, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks[edit]

Hi Gurubrahma - thanks for your "thumbs up" - it is very deeply appreciated. Your adminship guidelines did have an impact on me, even though I don't agree with having a set criteria for adminship - the reduction of edits/page ratio was owing to the work I did on categories and stubs in March. Before I even think of applying for adminship, I will read Wikipedia policies carefully and begin work on CVU/RC patrol. Also mis-leading is my edits/day - although I will be hyperactive in May, the rate will decline to a more stable, sober rate in June I think.

You are a genuine role model to me as a Wikipedian and as an admin - far cry from Oct '05, ain't it? I applaud your determination to serve on adminship duties at the expense of the more-juicy articles work. Only determination and a deep passion emanates from the work you do so religiously. I hope you will be able to return full-time to Wikipedia sooner than '07. Cheers, Rama's Arrow 17:06, 27 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsense[edit]

I have not added any nonsense here!!!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.141.134.213 (talkcontribs)

Hi[edit]

LTNS! Hope you are doing well. Thanx for including my suggestion in DYK. Actually, I had some doubt about notability, so I did not mail you (so as not to seem to press the matter). Now I am wondering whether this entry can form part of any brag-list I may create, or whether that is the prerogative of the article's creator, Nichalp? I ask, since you did not place the "was included" template on my talk-page, but then you did not place it on Nichalp's talk-page either. Perhaps, in the 'pehle aap' tussle between two cats, the butter got kicked into the wastebin? Pray enlighten me, Gurugaru. ImpuMozhi 00:01, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bye[edit]

Hello Gurubrahma,

Read that you were going to become inactive soon. So just dropped in (like you [[1]] did on my talk page) to say bye. Thanks for all the work that you have done here. I once saw your RfA - I can only wish that someone would write a nomination like that for me someday. DYK is indebted to you for all the hours you have put in to lift up that project. Hope to see you drop in every now and then (at PINQ if not anywhere else). Ok then, I have said more than I should have. Have a great journey forward in life. All the best. - Aksi_great (talk) 18:08, 10 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't see myself at RfA in the near future. If I would ever have an RfA nom, then I would like it to be like yours. - Aksi_great (talk) 18:28, 11 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Phew! - thank goodness you clarified. From all this I feared you were saying goodbye to the project permanently! Very glad to know you'll still be sufficiently around (200-300 is good in any book) and I hope you will not contemplate anything like that ever. Best of luck for your work and family, and do return full-time soon. I'm very happy to know you support me as a potential admin. There's still some time before I take that step, as I'm re-organizing my work and working on the advice I received during the ER. Chal, take care and lemme know if I can help in anything. hands off my hamster racing page dork —Preceding unsigned comment added by Will 210 (talkcontribs)

The hamster racing page has been recently recreated after it was deleted in accordance to the criteria for speedy deletion. This article violates the following criteria: Recreation of deleted material and Unremarkable people or groups/Vanity Pages. The concept of a "Hamster Racing" league show no relevant Google hits, nor does any of the other things mentioned in the article. I don't see how this article can grow to any usefulness, and it's creator continues to remove tags. —№tǒŖïøŭş4lĭfė
I did not realize that the "previosly deleted content" was just a placeholder; so I reworded the speedy deletion tag to exclude using that as a criteria. By seaching Google, the concept of hamster racing and many of the topics mentioned in the article show no relevant hits. The article definitely qualifies under the category of Unremarkable people or groups/Vanity Pages (CSD A7). The article's creator, Will 210 has repeatedly removed the deletion tags on his article, which in itself is a form of vandalism. He has been warned, and I'm quite devoted to having articles deleted that fail to meet inclusion requirements.
One last note– I was recently and informally told that the hamster racing article could not qualify under CSD A7, because it is not a person or specific group of people. But, despite the fact that the article doesn't meet notability claims, what specific criteria could it specifically be cited as violating? Does it constitute as a vanity page, albeit lack of fame is not the same as vanity? The speedy deletion was overturned by two members, one who claims to love hamsters, and the other who provided bogus links to sources (some of which mention nothing more than the name "hamster racing"). I suppose the article could just be sent to AfD, since apparently my nomination for speedy deletion was overturned since I could not pinpoint the exact criteria it violated. —№tǒŖïøŭş4lĭfė
I am the editor who User:Notorious4life claims provided "bogus links". I wish to make it clear that this allegation is a complete fabrication. --Centauri 07:47, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • You tried to back the claim of notability by providing links to websites that barely made any mentioning of hamster racing or its importance. I don't think this page, however, is the place to discuss these issues. —№tǒŖïøŭş4lĭfė
Who said anything about notability? I provided 3 references - 2 of which were media articles discussing hamster racing, and the third of which linked to a UK betting company that takes bets on hamster racing - yet you described these as "bogus". The onus is on you to explain yourself. --Centauri 08:18, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I guess that makes me the editor who was labelled as the one who loves hamsters then. In the future notorious, it would be nicer if you referred to your fellow editors by name instead of labellings. I'm not too sure how this discussion boiled over here, to your talk page Gurubrahma, but I'd like to explain myself. My argument against the speedy deletion boils down to WP:AGF. The user is new and I feel we should give him a chance before jumping to conclusions. Since creation he has been focused on editing that one article and making a good effort of it too. The article isn't blatant vandalism, could have legitimacy (through the included links, and possibly others that have been uncovered), isn't spam, and is tagged as a stub. So I feel speedy isn't warranted in this case therefore (as agreed) we should AfD after we give Will a chance. Regards --Charlie(@CIRL | talk) 08:25, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it felt nice after coming back to see that so many other people backed me up. I have already posted at WP:AN asking everyone to let the issue be. There was no point in carrying the issue forward when Phil had already apologised (what more could I ask). As for PINQ, I really don't think I can think of asking any good question today (it was a busy real-life day too...). My head is all wound up with all this AN stuff. Am trying to work some more on Ahmedabad tonight (you could comment on Wikipedia:Peer review/Ahmedabad|PR]]). As for Bhadaniji, I too am worried about him. Dia Mirza[edit]

Hello, Gurubrahma, I'm kinda desparately seeking for your help: There is a problem with several anons over at the Dia Mirza page who keep adding stuff, like endorsements and fansites. Things have gotten blown out of proportion in a really big way, as you can see on the discussion page. I had a lengthy conversation with both of them, the article got protected once and when things seemed to get betters, an admin who helped me, User:GraemeL, un-protected it again - that's when everything started to get out of control. User:GraemeL suggested I'd either ask people from the project for help or go to RfC, but I think that's the last resort, so I'm asking you and a few others for help. I'd be eternally grateful if you have time, to just drop a comment there and even, if it's just a tiny one. Best regards, a desparate Plumcouch 16:41, 19 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Need your advice[edit]

Hi Gurubrahma - I need your advice on user:Anwar saadat. This user has been creating issues on WP:RFA by voting against candidates for purely subjective reasons, giving an indication that he simply wants to wreck their candidacies. He tagged images of Sardar Patel that I had uploaded with source and copyright info, as "fake" and without copyright. As you noted, for no reason at all he claimed that my username was anti-Muslim. He described my reversion of POV edits to Jinnah as vandalism. I personally feel this fellow is behaving with an attitude of disruption and wrecking of efforts, and with an anti-India, anti-Hindu bias, and has not been netted by WP policies.

You are more experienced in these matters - I ask for your advice on how to deal with this person. I initially applied WP:AGF but these actions have been repeated over a couple of weeks, several times. If you counsel restraint and AGF, obviously I'll accept but I think there is a need fo frank talk or action now. Please let me know. Rama's Arrow 15:35, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Also, see user talk:Anwar saadat. user:Nobleeagle and user:Aksi great have already raised these issues with him. Rama's Arrow 16:14, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Nirav. His actions are of a disruptive nature. He has been opposing on nearly all Indian FACs and RFAs without any reason. I tried to assume good faith. If you look at his talk page you will notice that I tried to inform him about wikipedia policy on using copyright images on user pages. But he marked my comment as "Troll". The images were later removed by 2 other admins. He is causing a lot of bad atmosphere here which is equivalent to disruption. But, I also think that he has a potential to become helpful around here. He has done some vey good work on economic stats here and has got a barnstar from Ganeshk too. I hope you can talk to him and tell him to co-operate with others. That would help us all. - Aksi_great (talk) 17:53, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Even I agree with Nirav. I lost all faith in him when he recategorized his page and kept adding comments to his talk page under heads like "Troll", etc. He has crossed the limit till we can assume good faith. The way Sundar failed to convince him makes me believe that he will ignore any mediator. To me, there's only one logical way of proceeding. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 19:30, 23 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Gurubrahma, please see WT:INWNB in the edit summary section, the User talk:Anwar Saadat/Archive 2 and Talk:Ajith Kumar and his comments on all Indian-related RFAs, FACs, FLCs, and he tried a FLRC but was unanimously rejected. Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:45, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Though he appeared to mellow initially when I tried to reason with him in Tamil, he seems to have a deep-rooted POV that makes it difficult to convince him (I must admit that I didn't try as much as I'd have liked to, because of lack of time.). The best thing to do is to ignore his trolling where we can and countering him wherever he breaches policies. I'm sure any bad faith comments at FAC would get ignored by Raul, but RfAs could be tricky. If someone has the patience to make out an elaborate case, they can request for comment. It could be very taxing though. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 05:55, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I too think that an RfC would just waste our time. And there is no dispute here. It is plain disruption which is causing some harassment and stress to other users. Don't know what else we can do. - Aksi_great (talk) 06:06, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I would also recommend waiting a little longer. He has improved a bit and is better now than what he was two weeks back. Tintin (talk) 06:10, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, see Blnguyen's comment here. Perhaps a useful contributor could be salvaged out of him. We never know. -- Sundar \talk \contribs 06:20, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, Ganeshk gave him a barnstar for his economics work, and from what I understand Gurubrahma will be nomming Ganeshk for RfA soon, so we'll see how Anwar reacts to that. I don't think that I managed to change his mindset though, judging by his comments here, after I messaged him and here, before the message. Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 07:34, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I am replying here as there have been multiple posts. As we seem to agree that he makes useful contributions as well, it would be worthwhile to wait for a while. I have not looked at his contribs fully but what I have seen has given me some concern, so I posted a message on his talkpage. If someone is interested and has the time, they can probably create a sub-page in their user space to build evidence for the case, if any, under different heads such as stalking, using Tamil in edit summaries, making personal attacks, subverting rfa, subverting FAC, instances of POV etc. Some acts are more harmful than others, e.g. Stalking is more serious than an instance of POV. Also, Nichalp has blocked him once. If Anwar's acts get egregious, he may be blocked again - there is a provision to block users who exhaust community's patience but that should be used only as the last resort. --Gurubrahma 06:32, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The list of things he has done wrong would be quite long. But then again, I'm just a troll. A Hindutva believer, fascist, POV Pushing Troll at that. Nobleeagle (Talk) 07:36, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to that, I think he knows about the Indian Wikipedians' Noticeboard and probably knows about all the discussions related to him (translation, stalking etc.). What disturbs me the most is his blanket opposition of all India related votes, always against the Indian article or user in question. I tried to tell him about it but my edit got placed in the Troll's Melodrama section. His editing policies stated that all unsigned comments will be deleted without warning. So I told him that sometimes you forget to sign by accident and instead of deleting the comments you should use the {{unsigned|user}} template. Again, it was just a Troll's Melodrama. So I believe he has basically rejected any offer to him to be part of the Indian Wikipedian Community. While he might make some decent edits, he will not be easy to work with. Nobleeagle (Talk) 08:06, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I cannot agree with the view that we can't really do much - this person has insulted many decent editors, and is abusing the system. We cannot simply wait for him to trip over 3RR or something. But I agree with Gurubrahma that we need to be a little more patient, and try to persuade him to drop his follies. If the abusive behavior continues, then the most decisive line of action must be taken. Rama's Arrow 21:03, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Gurubrahma. He needs more time. He has been doing a lot of good work lately. He had provided constructive comments at a page I was working on. He has a lot of potential to be a good editor. - Ganeshk (talk) 23:45, 24 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I think that he may be improving in his behaviour, and turning out to be a better 'pedian (see this section which he added).--May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 04:02, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No, RfC may be worth it. Look at his talk page now, he reported Holy Ganga for abuse of Vandal Proof, probably because it reverted his POV. He categorized Rama's Arrow's concerns as a Failed RFA's Melodrama and changed his talk page in order to make it look like Rama's Arrow has some sort of personal issue against him. It's going way too far. Nobleeagle (Talk) 05:48, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No - I agree with Shreshth. It is clear that he does not like some people and we should respect his view and stay clear of his talk page until it is really necessary. I think some users especially you, rama's arrow and bhadaniji should stay away as you all have had past issues with him. There is no need to cause more trouble. We all don't want to be unnecessarily drawn into an RfC or an RfAr. I also don't like the way he categorizes his talk page into various melodramas, but still it is his right to do whatever he wants to his talk page to some extent. He has been doing some good work. Maybe sometime in the future we may all agree to work together. Sorry to Gurubrahma for turning his talk page into a chat room :) - Aksi_great (talk) 05:56, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also see Blnguyen's RFA (in which only one person has opposed, guess who...), DaGizza suggests an RfC there. He has also nominated a number of India-related articles for Speedy Deletion, most of which have got the Hangon tag attached to them. The reason he has stated is simply that it was created by a blocked user. However, if I were blocked tomorrow should Haryana cricket team or Debaters Association Victoria be deleted?? Nobleeagle (Talk) 06:08, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While an RFC can be filed, who is willing to spend time and effort in identifying the evidence in the form of diffs etc.? I believe he is right in reporting Holy Ganga, content disputes must not be rolled back. Period. However, he is wrong to reformat others' comments on his talkpage and bolding comments etc. If DaGizza has the time, let him file an RfC. We can all comment there. All this talk doesn't get us anywhere. From what I've seen, there is no single issue for RfAr, but RfC may be justified. I'd not file an RfC as I'd like to give him some time; more seriously, I can't spare the time and effort right now. However, if some one files an RfC, I'd be willing enough to point out what I believe are gross inadequacies in his behavior. --Gurubrahma 06:19, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Here I think he has gone too far : Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#A_Troll_supports_Vandal_and_takes_over_my_talk_page —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tintin1107 (talkcontribs)

If he doesn't improve in a week I'll think about it. Personally I hate all this categorization on talk pages, I believe I may have stopped showing good faith to him as soon as he labelled my comments as a Troll's Melodrama. I'll try being a tad nicer. Could someone here that he doesn't know very well please tell him to simply drop those categories. Nobleeagle (Talk) 06:25, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, AmiDaniel is well-respected among the community, has had no contact with Anwar, but since, Holy Ganga used AmiDaniel's tool, Anwar, decided to relabel AmiDaniel's comments as "Arming the Vandals". So no, I get the impression that using a cleanskin won't work.Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 06:28, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Please see user talk:Taxman#Request regarding problem user: Taxman advises that an RfC is a good way to seriously talk with Anwar to improve his behavior, and not just as a punitive measure. I think we should give him more time, but pursue an RfC decisively if there is no improvement. Rama's Arrow 16:15, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I too agree that an RFC will be in order. Good contributions or not, his behavior is disturbing many well respected members of the community. Many chances have been given to him to rectify his actions, but he seems adamant to carry on his disruptive activities. Even a couple of blocks & serious warnings have not had any effect on him. There is no dearth of evidence of his detrimental actions, so we will have a clear cut case. Thanks. Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 16:51, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Also his constant referral of Nobleeagle & Aksi great as a "troll" is a direct violation of WP:NPA. Srikeit(talk ¦ ) 16:57, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Don't you think this image is more appropriate for the main page, since in the "No quota" candle formation img, the protesters are too small to be seen. --May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 14:00, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

blocking Anwar?[edit]

Hi GB - hope you're still online. Given that Nichalp and Essjay have already blocked him twicea over NPA, can we not request a longer block given his persistence? Rama's Arrow 17:04, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

As per user talk:Taxman#Request regarding problem user, Taxman advises that his talkpage refactoring amounts to personal attacks. Also, his use of admin noticeboard for complaining against Nobleeagle and Aksi great is bad faith and perhaps personal attack. I request you to see if you can block him for a longer period. Rama's Arrow 17:07, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
As you advise, I will drop another message with him. I've already given him 2 messages. Thanks, GB, your help has been great. Rama's Arrow 17:12, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HAPPY WIKI-ANNIVERSARY!!![edit]

I am incredibly sorry to have missed your 1-year anniversary on April 30th! But I hope you never thought for a second that we've forgotten the value of your presence here. I cannot thank you enough for the great contributor, admin and role model you've been to me, Indian editors and all Wikipedians! You're a pillar of strength to all of us! Need advice[edit]

I am trying to work on Narendra Modi. There are a few unresolved disputes at the bottom of Talk:Narendra Modi, please contribute if you can resolve the problem. Also, I'd like to know if there is any Indian political leader upon whom Wikipedia has a good/featured article. Regards, --Andy123 talk 12:21, 26 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom fighter category[edit]

As the consensus is building up in Wikipedia_talk:Notice_board_for_India-related_topics#Freedom_fighter_debate_-_options, it seems a deletion review will be necessary. Could you please make the case for Deletion Review of this category? We need strong well-worded argument. That's why I thought you would be the best person to start the case. Need some help[edit]

Hi there, I am idle (again!) for some time and am editing articles on subcontinent military history and I need your help with a particular anonymous user who keeps reverting my edits in articles of Indian/Pakistani military planes. In the articles Hawker Hunter, Folland Gnat and F-86 Sabre he keeps reverting to his own version of events and even misquotes figures from the source he provides. For instance he quotes this and says 13 hunter planes fell to the F-86 but the source shows only 5 hunters falling to the F-86. Even a pakistani site here shows only 5 hunter planes falling prey to the F-86 (note that one hunter piloted by Saeed Afzal from 14th Squadron Hunter (37th Squadron) was claimed by two sabres, therefore it appears like 6 hunters but it is in reality only 5 due to the double claim).

He then asks "Where is this "official" record of 30 Sabers lost?" when I have clearly provided the source that mentions 28 F-86 Sabres being lost (I had put in as "nearly 30 Sabres" in the article). He even challenges that the Battle of Boyra "encounter" was a fictitious one! Moreover in his version of events, backed by a faulty source the Folland Gnat pilot who surrendered in the 65 war was dismissed by IAF, but in reality he rose to become Air Marshal in the IAF!

Also note that in this diff he says PAF had more respect for Hawker Hunter but then contradicts himself here on the Hawker Hunter page using terms like "The Hunter failed" and "most ignominous performance" to rubbish the same plane which in his own words "had more respect" from the PAF. Moreover, while I try to mainly use neutral sites as the source he choses to use biased ones like pakdef which doesn't even quote its sources. Though bharat rakshak (used in some places in the article where alternative neutral sites were unavailable) is an Indian site, the site's bibliography is vast to include Indian, Pakistani and foreign authors. He also keeps removing other essential details as you can clearly see in the diffs of these pages.

I hope you can do something to stop this anon whose half baked facts are even being reverted by other users here Thanks. --Idleguy 04:12, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bhadani's reply

It is nice to learn that you are working here. However, I shall not be able to help you in the matter as my experience says that perhaps wikipedia's policies, processes, and procedures; as also the general attitudes of the wikipedians are designed to favor anonymous and vandals, including the white-collar vandals, more than the established editors. Sorry Idleguy. I am helpless in the matter. You will have to fend for yourself - no one shall come to your help! In case, you find that you are unable to protect the contents of wikipedia, just abandon the same to the mercy of vandals – if you do more to protect the credibility of the contnets, you shall get real burns and the choice adjectives. --Bhadani 10:39, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand that most of the wikipedians come to know about many things only from the pages of wikipedia, and are unable to understand the "nitty-gritty" of so many topics. This makes the life of vandals easy, and the established editors look like idiots. --Bhadani 10:43, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mokkan88's message[edit]

Hey, I was an unregistered member at the time I recieved a message for deleting content in the article Reginald Fils-Aime. The content appears to be back on the page, so I figured that, if it were to be deleted again, regardless of how ridiculous it appeared, I would not be the one to do it.

I do find it odd, however, that the American-born President of Nintendo of America, who has a longstanding business career, also obtained "the oldest and most prestigious Dutch music prize". ;-) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mokkan88 (talkcontribs)

About the manusmriti article....[edit]

If you really want to keep the text by B.R.Ambedkar, keep it in criticism section, but not "The Need to Write Manusmriti". It is well known that B.R.Ambedkar is anti-hindu

The main glitch in what is written there, is that manusmrti is supposed to apply only to satya yuga. As for the text of anti-women type, it is generally accompanied with "but if the man fails to treat the woman equally, she shouldn't respect him" or something like that.

It would be very wrong to keep under a section named such, i say a section should be kept in the qu'ran page with similiar stuff saying that it was to re-unite arabs, said by many a people...

No matter what, the text CANNOT be kept in that section —Preceding unsigned comment added by Leaflord (talkcontribs)

Blanking of User pages[edit]

Hello, You left a note on my talk page asking why I'd reverted your blanking of a user page. WP:VAN clearly states: Blanking: "Removing all or significant parts of articles (sometimes replacing the removed content with profanities) is a common vandal edit."

I replied to you yesterday on this matter. I believe, as an admin, you should be more judicious with your blanking. Budgiekiller 09:18, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, the "other" administrator should have been more careful when he blanked most of the page. Regardless of the content, the admin removed consdierable content that was most definitely not offensive. That's why I reverted it. Is this explanation sufficient? Budgiekiller 09:31, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Freedom fighter etc[edit]

That will be great (deletion review). Regarding, reservation, not exactly. The article needs updating, I did just that, and will try to do so. In fact, Nichalp told me that images added could not be used un WP due to license problem. Just now I received permission over mail to use the images from pertinent authority from Chandigarh. IMO, now images could be used. Regards.--Dwaipayan (talk) 10:20, 28 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

File:Atlanticpuffin4.jpg Hello Gurubrahma. Cricket cats[edit]

Hello Gurubrahma. I have added Gil Langley to the politician cat. Also, what is your opinion about categorizing sportspeople by their religion when it plays no part in their public life? See WT:CRIC for the discussion.Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 05:24, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cricketer politicians[edit]

Almost all decent List A cricketers will be first class cricketers. So excluding (or including) them won't do much harm. Another tricky issue is that of English cricketers who were Members of the House of Lord's, Viceroys of India etc.
