Image moving[edit]

Word of caution: if you're going to move an image over to Commons, check first to make sure it's not a copyright violation first. That image of Ali Larter you moved was originally from WireImage. Tabercil (talk) 22:52, 8 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for letting me know; I will check the next time. What kind of check is common to perform before moving the picture. Some google-ing on the picture ? Gohe007 (talk) 17:09, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
A good all-round check is to run the image by TinEye first and see what kind of results come back. If you have a lot of results from other sites which are not Wikipedia mirrors, then further digging into the image may be warranted. Tabercil (talk) 21:26, 9 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
