Political Parties in Canada - Listings -[edit]
Hi User Giovnni:
The Link page has a talk section so I thought this was the best place to start. Good eye to check the double listing of the Green Party of Canada! Congratulations.
In the 39th and 40th General elections of Canada, There were no sitting members of the Green Party of Canada. There was one MP who Resigned from one of the other political parties, and became a member of the Green Party, however, because the House of Commons was not sitting , at that time, the Party could not be recognized as "Sitting". When the Next election was held , that seat was lost (If I remember correctly. - I will update when I can confirm the timing), the seat fell as an independant, or one of the other parties picked it up. So No Official Status yet.
Currently (February 2010) the House is in "Prorogue mode"- Don't know when they will be sitting again, or if the house can fall. (Houses of Parliament fall when there is a loss of the people, by way of a Money Bill, or other such type that the Minority Government of the Day Looses the vote. {may explain why it is in proroguement) Richard416282 (talk) 18:41, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
