September 2016[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm John from Idegon. An edit that you recently made to Fresno, California seemed to be a test and has been removed. If you want more practice editing, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Armenian is not the language used here as this encyclopedia is intended for English language speakers John from Idegon (talk) 05:16, 14 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Fresno has had Armenians in it for over 100 years and are a major component of the demographics of that city. As you can see, I did not write any article in Armenian, I merely transliterated the name into Armenian, as is a standard practice of cities or states in Wikipedia English. I also addressed this in the talk page of Watertown showing specific examples, including those in USA. If needs be, I will also make a talk page about this topic on Fresno if needed, to keep this edit in. Thank you for your concern. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Geragos (talkcontribs) 07:53, September 14, 2016 (UTC)
Please stop transliterating American place names into Armenian. You have been undone multiple times by different editors on Fresno, California, Altadena, California, and Watertown, Massachusetts (assuming you were the IP on that article). Per WP:BRD you should discuss this on the talk page after the first time you are undone, rather than continuing to insert your contentious changes. Starting talk page threads and immediately making your edits for a third time is not appropriate either. Wait for other editors to discuss the issue. I suggest that you read WP:EW. As there is already a discussion at Talk:Watertown, Massachusetts, I would suggest just carrying forward with that discussion. The only thing having multiple discussions of the same subject will do is waste time. And by the way, don't imply other editors have racist motivations again. You cannot know what my motivations are and we have a policy (WP:AGF) that requires you to assume my edits are made in good faith, which of course they were.
