Area between two functions: revealed?[edit]

The area of a region between two functions f(x) and g(x)

In general, the rate of area increment between two functions f(x) and g(x),is the vertical length at any point x: length between (x,f(x)) and (x,g(x)): ⌈f(x)-g(x)⌉.

This makes dA/dx= ⌈f(x)-g(x)⌉, where A is the area function. and integrating gives A=∫⌈f(x)-g(x)⌉ dx. Garygoh884 (talk) 01:18, 22 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
