Hello Foxnpichu cntd.[edit]

Hello @Foxnpichu:!

I have recently been working on a particular BLP, and another Wikipedian called me out on using trivial information, as opposed to enyclopedic information. What would be your best way of explaining the difference and your personal best practice at being able to decypher between the two in an effort to build out an article on a living person in a truly robust manner?

Thank you so much! Thederekjohnson (talk) 04:22, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@ Thederekjohnson - Basically, don't put something in which you think only a few people are gonna care about. If you need examples, I can give. Foxnpichu (talk) 16:11, 12 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Foxnpichu:

That sounds simple enough. If i come across anything that could be a bit of a tossup in my future contributions, I will reach out.

Thanks,

Hi!

I'm a fairly new editor to Wikipedia who just stumbled across 'adoption'. I'm mainly just looking for someone to help me answer a few of my questions and to give me a little more feedback. If you're interested just let me know. Thanks! KingOreo123 (talk) 18:13, 24 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How to publish an old article?[edit]

When I made an article, my account wasn't auto confirmed yet. It was only 1 or 2 days old. When I submitted it for review, it got denied because of the lack of sources. Now, I've added sources, and my account is auto confirmed so that I can publish articles. However, the only thing I see is just to publish changes. Is there any way I could publish my old article? Bulgariansoviet1878 (talk) 13:58, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • If the old article was declined, then it appears that whoever reviewed it doesn't think it is a very good article. You could publish it anyway yourself, but it is likely to get deleted. Foxnpichu (talk) 17:09, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Right, I get that. The only reason he gave is that there weren't enough citations. But I've added 9 of them. How do I publish it? I only see the "publish changes" button. Bulgariansoviet1878 (talk) 19:51, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Bulgariansoviet1878 - There should be a "More" button next to the "View history" button. You click on that and select "Move". You can then rename the article and remove the "Draft:" at the beginning. If you do not see the button, it means you probably need to wait a few more days or make a few more edits before you can do it. Foxnpichu (talk) 20:39, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bulgariansoviet1878 (talkcontribs) 23:13, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Request for adoption[edit]

Hi. Could you adopt me? DrSalvus (talk) 15:12, 17 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus - Sure thing. Anything in particular you need help with? Foxnpichu (talk) 14:37, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
First of all I would like to let you know that I am not a native English speaker and therefore I may make grammatical errors. I ask you to periodically review my changes and check if I have made any grammatical errors. Later I will tell you some of my anecdotes that led me to ask you for help. DrSalvus (talk) 17:57, 18 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr Salvus - Hello. Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. I have been taking a bit of a break from Wikipedia for the moment. It seems you were caught up on an incident on the administrator noticeboard and I couldn't respond to it as I was away. Can you tell me what the outcome of the situation was please? Don't worry, I will review your changes from time to time and make sure everything is good. Foxnpichu (talk) 22:55, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

This started when a user decided to report failed applications on GA and FL to administrators by proposing a ban on topics. This discussion attracted the attention of numerous sysops who also criticized my destructive changes on PR and GOCE. There was a poll to ban me from these topics but fortunately I have not received any blocks. It is impossible to explain my state of depression and distress at that time, I could not even sleep at night. Dr Salvus 07:19, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus - Aw. I hope you get better. Foxnpichu (talk) 20:55, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks now I feel better. Could you check the List of Coppa Italia finals page? I am not a native speaker of English and therefore there may be grammatical errors Dr Salvus 21:00, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dr Salvus - I don’t think there are any typos. Foxnpichu (talk) 21:03, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Over time, I will make new changes, which may cause grammatical errors. I ask you to periodically review this page and correct grammatical errors Dr Salvus 21:06, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus - Sure. Whenever I'm on and remember to. Foxnpichu (talk) 22:51, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

First I ask you to see one of my failed FL canidature and see if I have overlooked any indication. Dr Salvus 13:55, 30 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus - I have never really looked in that side of Wikipedia myself, so there is not much I can really say outside of just following the advice others gave you. Sorry if this isn’t very helpful, I just have never taken part in a discussion like that before. Foxnpichu (talk) 14:06, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I have collected some negative feedback that I have received here, including the discussion on the WP: ANI of mid-March. What can you deduce in your opinion? Dr Salvus 14:17, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dr Salvus - It's best to take criticism with a pinch of salt and just learn from it. Foxnpichu (talk) 19:43, 2 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question[edit]

Should we reconsider Upcoming shows list now? Along with the other Cartoonito wiki pages?

The wiki pages should become more constructive, but as of now not much is known but things will become clearer.

Btw remember when I predicted Cartoonito’s “possible expansion”? It came true. MegaSmike46 (talk) 17:28, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MegaSmike46 - It is best to only include upcoming shows if they have a reliable source. Yes, your possible expansion came true, but it is still a good idea not to add speculation into articles. Foxnpichu (talk) 22:53, 25 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, but about the wiki pages? As information clears, how should they be organized? I mean, Cartoonito brand, UK, and US all have their own respective pages.

Also do you think Cartoonito is the successor to Tickle-U and not it’s replacement? MegaSmike46 (talk) 03:47, 26 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MegaSmike46 - I think the US version should have its own article sibce it seems to be a bit different. Not sure about the UK one. Also, it is probably the successor to Tickle-U. Just me though. Foxnpichu (talk) 20:57, 28 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I agree on separate pages. However, maybe they’ll eliminate the “major” differences within the brand internationally. Also, my “idea” if Cartoonito were to have a channel; it would replace HBO Family. HBO Family would be absorbed into HBO Max’s brands. MegaSmike46 (talk) 03:06, 29 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MegaSmike46 - What makes you say that? Foxnpichu (talk) 14:05, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Idk it was a theory. If it’s successful it’s bound to get its own channel entity. Like Noggin become Nick Jr Channel, Disney Jr replacing Soapnet, or DC Universe absorbing into HBO Max.

It’s all speculation. 🤔 aside from movies shaking up HBO Family would harm the brand. It’s easier to replace corporate owned networks then create new. MegaSmike46 (talk) 16:52, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MegaSmike46 - Fair enough. Foxnpichu (talk) 20:20, 1 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
