Hi, thanks for your help! Just one thing, though, the reason I had it worded that Murphy "grew up in Far Rockaway" is because I do not know for certain that he was in fact *born* there. I have searched Ancestry.com, with no luck in finding anything other than the Social Security Death Record at this point. I was a student of Murphy's and knew him well, but I can't verify that he was *b orn* in Far Rockaway, just "grew up" there. I will call his wife and ask her to confirm the place of birth, and will be adding more information soon. Thanks again, ````FoxezandHedgehogs

Another thing is that "Mundurucu" is properly spelled Mundurucu, even though the Wikipedia entry has it otherwise. This should be corrected. There is a whole lot of literature on the Mundurucu, and that's the way it is spelled in the professional literature. The entry labeled "Munduruku" needs a lot of work, and the spelling isn't what is used in the academic literature.

Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Here are some handy tips:

  • You can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using three tildes, like this: ~~~
  • Four tildes (~~~~) produces your name and the current date.
  • Mark a page as a 'minor edit' if you don't change content (e.g. fix typos or slight errors without) and mark as a normal edit if you add or remove content (links, text, etc).
  • If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. Dlodge 04:27, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Personal Connection?[edit]

I notice you have been heavily editing E. Converse Peirce 2nd and Robert F. Murphy (anthropologist); do you have a personal connection? Dlodge 04:27, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I do. I have been heavily editing them, because I wrote these articles, and am still in the process of creating and editing them. --FoxezandHedgehogs 07:16, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

E. Converse Peirce publication list[edit]

Hi. I just wanted to let you know I moved the publication list to a subpage - E. Converse Peirce 2nd/Publications. I also moved my previous welcome message from your main page (where I accidentally placed it) to your talk page. Dlodge 20:49, 4 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This page has been proposed for deletion, see User talk:Dlodge#AfD nomination of E. Converse Peirce 2nd/Publications. Dlodge 21:32, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
