A tag has been placed on Novel Institute requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  Velella  Velella Talk   08:57, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for October 19[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Sylvine, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Transparent. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Student pages[edit]

Initially I thought you were a student since you've signed up for coursework, however a look at the pages shows that these are all for different schools. There's no set rule here that says that you can't sign up for these courses, at least none that I'm aware of, but I'd ask the professors first if it's OK for you to join in their process. The teachers have to deal with students that have officially signed up with their school, so they may not have the time to help you as their first priority is the student body that has paid to take the class. Some of them are also relatively unfamiliar with the process, so they actually might not be the best avenue for you to seek assistance. Also, some of these classes are already completed, so there's nothing that you can gain out of joining a class that has already ended. I'd actually recommend that you de-register from the classes (unless one of them is one you're physically enrolled in as a student of that university) and instead look into joining up with a WikiProject aimed at these goals. For example, there's Wikipedia:MEDICINE, which is aimed towards people with an interest in medicine. I'd also highly recommend that you look into seeking help from the WP:TEAHOUSE during this process.

I'd also recommend that you use caution when welcoming people, mostly because you are a new user and as a result are less familiar with the editing process. The users might reply with questions that you won't have the answer to. You can always refer them to the teahouse, but just be careful about this in general because I don't want you to put yourself into any awkward situations. Also, welcomes like the one you gave at User talk:Emrhkcygt can be seen as discouraging since while you might have meant it as a good humored joke, it can come across as a little intimidating to others. It's usually better to stick to the standard welcome templates. A good person to ask about the welcoming process (if you do want to continue) is Missvain, as she's one of our most prominent and prolific welcomers. I've tagged her here so she can come and give her input if you have any questions. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 10:36, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lemieux reagent[edit]

Hi, is it possible to move the article to Lemieux–von Rudloff reagent? thanks --Stone (talk) 20:45, 19 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for looking in Stone. If the two are identical or refer to derivative of a compund, please make relevant changes. (I couldn't find an article on Lemieux-von Rudloff reagent, so I tried) FindMeLost (talk) 03:04, 20 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on USB disc security, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Somehow my comment at User talk:Alexmazzucca got lost within your comment, and the formatting is way above my head. I don't think I did anything wrong. Is there any way you can take a look at that? Welcoming template[edit]

Hi, you are welcoming new users using some syntax which is broken and causes problems when subsequent edits are made to the users talk page - see User talk:Incredible Help Online for an example. The majority of the welcome templates are meant to be substituted so you add the template like this {{subst:W-graphical}}. If you are going to do a lot of work like this I suggest you install WP:Twinkle which automates a lot of the effort for you. Nthep (talk) 19:03, 21 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of 1929 Goodall Cup Finals[edit]

I am contesting your Speedy deletion tag and insist you remove it immediately. If you are unsure of the significance of the article, please feel free to ask first. As a very brief history, this article is like just over 100 other articles that I will be creating to track the annual competition for the Goodall Cup. Please feel free to visit that link to the Goodall Cup article if you would like to see it's historic significance and why it should be recorded in an encyclopedic way such as this. It is the 3rd oldest ice hockey trophy in the world that is still contested, it is the oldest outside of Canada. It is so historically significant that the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada keeps the original cup stored there. Like the Stanley Cup has every final recorded, so shall this Goodall Cup also have every championship recorded. These games represent the National competition for an entire country, Australia. I'm sure I do not need to continue and it is extremely easy to see the value of this article and the ones like it to track the results of the highest national competition for Ice Hockey in Australia.Orion 2012 (talk) 04:32, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your helpful message needs debugging[edit]

Thanks for leaving a helpful message on User talk:Allycism, but I had to remove it because there was something wrong with it, which was confusing subsequent additions, as you can see in this version. There is probably a missing terminal </div> or something like that - I tried a bit of experimenting but couldn't see how to fix it. Play with it in a sandbox - check that every opening tag is properly closed.

There is a very useful page to point people to who post made-up religions or words or philosophies like that: WP:Wikipedia is not for things made up one day, shortcut WP:NFT. It explains things rather clearly. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 09:33, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I'll work it out. FindMeLost (talk) 04:51, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stub?[edit]

Why did you label QEMU with {{stub}}? It isn't a stub. If you think it needs improvement in particular ways, then add specific appropriate tags or discuss on the talk page. Please don't waste other editors' time by adding inappropriate stub tags. Thanks. PamD 16:10, 22 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Well.. That was a mistake! Thanks for pointing out. I seem to have inappropriately added a stub tag. FindMeLost (talk) 04:50, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why was Streak: Hoverboard Racing deleted?[edit]

Dear wikipedia user FindMeLost

I want to know why the 1998 Playstation 1 game Streak: Hoverboard Racing was deleted? That was the official name of the title that GT Interactive and SingleTrac companies came up with. That game was made in 1998 in the Playstation 1 era.

I was the one who attempted to start up a page Streak: Hoverboard Racing because I was worried that nobody would remember the game. Also it was supposed to be for a historical Playstation 1 video game article that GT Interactive and SingleTrac and Chuck E Myers worked hard on. Yes 2 of the video game companies are now out of business and I feel real sad and sorry for them.

I didn't see anything offensive in that game although if I could change the ESRB rating from E, I would have it rated E10+ for mild suggestive themes, mild lyrics and mild violence. I don't know why GT Interactive called it "Streak: Hoverboard Racing" but I guess they wanted to attract Playstation 1 buyers. I have played "Streak: Hoverboard Racing." It was a fun game having your human characters ride hoverboards in 12 levels and I've won it but it was a hard game for me to win. Also I didn't see anything offensive in that game except for a sexy woman character named Fatale. Also there were hard rock lyric songs in that game including "Skyview Highway", "St. Mortes", "Mainline", "Eiswald Spitze". Yes you can find the game at amazon.com

I can understand why the word Streak would make wikipedia visitors uncomfortable. But I don't want the article completely censored. Could we just rename the title page article to "Hoverboard Racing" and leave out the word Streak? I want people to at least see the game GT Interactive made. Also could you put the picture of the game on it as well?

I hope you'll consider restoring the page back because I don't want the game completely forgotten. Let me know if we can work something out because I don't want that forgotten game to go completely forgotten and as I'm a big fan of Hoverboard, Hovercar games. CrosswalkX (talk) 01:56, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Of course I have no oppositions regarding the game. And I do like that game.. It can be included even if its containing those, and all; since Wikipedia isn't exactly censored.

Perhaps I marked it for deletion, because it didn't exactly fulfill a criteria of verifiability, or Wiki Guidelines of having been written in an Encyclopedic manner. I do not hold any personal enmity with you- and I sure hope not! Please try to see the Page's recent history; or if its already been deleted, let's find the deleting administrator. Baba Haji Sher[edit]

Just FYI, Baba Haji Sher was deleted about 2.5 hours ago.

"G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of waliofallah.blogspot.com/2012/06/hazrat-baba-haji-sher-ra-burewala.html"

So it's a recreation, but IIRC shorter than the other version. Admin Drmies may be interested. 220 of Borg 05:56, 23 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Commemorative Medal of the Partisans of 1941[edit]

Hi FindMeLost, I just wanted to let you know that I have declined the speedy deletion of Commemorative Medal of the Partisans of 1941 because medals are not covered under the criteria for WP:CSD A7. This CSD tag is only for real people, individual animals, organisations, web content and organised events. I have been able to find a few mentions of the medal with a google book search but probably not enough to prove notability so I recommend you take it to AFD. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Do you delete the work of others without providing them with a backup copy?[edit]

I assume you do not, so when I found "I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Cornell Benjamin for deletion, because it seems to be inappropriate for a variety of reasons," on my talk page, I looked around for the backup copy and for a list of your reasons and found neither, I figured I'd better ask you. How do I recover the work I did? Dscotese (talk) 04:48, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
