would like to join policy call[edit]

hi there. I would like to receive an Invitation, for Wikimedia Public Policy monthly call, July 1 @ 16h EST. could you please send details? thanks. --Sm8900 (talk) 16:21, 7 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's great! All info can be found on this Meta https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Public_policy/Events FPutz (WMF) (talk) 10:11, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
ok, I appreciate your reply. I would like to join several of the upcoming calls. Also, I would like to submit a suggestion that we need to form a Wikimedia affiliates chapter for the United States as a whole. right now, this is just an idea, but I simply wanted to make an initial suggestion, that maybe we could think about this, as one possible goal. this would be obviously in parallel with the affiliates that already exist for other countries, and which are constituted for each nation as a whole, except for the USA. by the way, this is not to detract from or diminish in any way from the work and efforts of the existing local meetup chapters, notably those for NYC and for DC. they each do outstanding work, in every way. thanks!
Additonally, is there any list I can join either here, or on the meta site, or both, to receive notification of upcoming group calls? If not, that's fine, but I simply wanted to inquire. thanks! --Sm8900 (talk) 16:59, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Love the ideas! It would indeed be interesting to see where the discussion about a US Chapter might lead among the US community. I'm still learning how to create lists on meta (sorry! I'm new!) but in the meantime I share updates via the public policy mailing list: https://lists.wikimedia.org/postorius/lists/publicpolicy.lists.wikimedia.org/
See you soon! FPutz (WMF) (talk) 18:06, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Archive posting[edit]

Quick question about this edit - did you intend to post this in the archive? Archive pages aren't commonly watched and you're unlikely to receive replies or for people to notice new messages on archive pages.

Also, on a minor sidenote, this edit won't actually notify the user unless you provide your signature in the same edit. More info on that here. Aidan9382 (talk) 12:21, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Aidan9382thanks for this helpful note. As you can tell, I still have a lot to learn about how to edit. Is there anywhere else to actually post this, since it seems that the entire discussion has been archived...? FPutz (WMF) (talk) 16:10, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All good. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure myself, so you might have better luck asking someone else. You could potentially post it as an update on the main page and link the archived discussion. Aidan9382 (talk) 16:44, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
