Karelians page move

Hi. I'm not sure if I understood the given arguments correctly, but multiple users on Talk:Karelia (historical province of Finland)#Splitting proposal came to the conclusion that neither Karelians or Karelians (Finns) are a primary group in English. The DAB page Karelian also already exists with multiple links on it. --Vilutar (talk) 13:23, 28 April 2022 (UTC)

Hi Vilutar, the issue is that the proposed DAB was (as argued effectively with reference to WP:ONEOTHER and Wikipedia:Primary topics in WP:ONEOTHER situations) not needed to achieve this - a simple hat-note on the article achieves disambiguation. Karelian exists with multiple links - but not just two links. FOARP (talk) 13:56, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
It's difficult for me to say anything as the moving of the page was never a part of my original proposal (on the other page) and maybe the people who wished for the moving should be doing their own work on that front. I still struggle to understand what you mean by the last sentence since we have situations like Indians linking to Indian which has multiple links on it, so it would make sense to me with the same logic that Karelians would link to Karelian with multiple links on it. Hi Vilutar, this is where the point about WP:PRECISION comes in. FOARP (talk) 14:08, 28 April 2022 (UTC)
