Hello, FOARP,

I closed this AFD a couple of hours ago and am just now finishing up deleting the over 200+ articles. Please do not do such large bundled AFD nominations in the future. Apparently, XfDCloser can not handle a mass deletion of this size so each article has to be deleted individually. Plus, some AFD participants are upset at the prospect of trying to evaluate hundreds of articles over a week or two. I can understand the impulse to put together all articles of a certain type but, technically and collaboratively, 200 is just too much at one go. Thank you. Liz Read! Hi Liz, many thanks for dropping by and leaving me this note. I had not been aware of the 200 article limit for XfDcloser and I agree that for lists of articles in excess of 200 should be handled some other way - I note that for the zero population abadi stubs they were deleted in block (more than 10,000 all together) but I’m not sure how this was done. Next time I come across a list of articles requiring deletion that exceeds 200 I will investigate how to delete it without causing too much trouble first.
I also noted the comments about the difficulty of reviewing them, however I also note that everyone was also in favour of deleting these articles in spite of this. This was a case when the names of the articles themselves clearly stated what they were, and what they were were companies for which a WP:CORP pass had not be substantiated in the sources that were used in every article. Had this not been the case I wouldn’t have tried to nominate them all in one go. Splitting them into more than one AFD might make sense from a technical point of view but would inevitable lead to WP:WAX questions and require repeated voting.
In the long term I think nearly all of these abadi articles that are sourced only to the Iranian census and GEOnet Names Server will have to go, but that’s a discussion for another time. FOARP (talk) 19:48, 9 August 2022 (UTC)
Hello, FOARP,
I just closed Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Masha-ye Ashayiri Shomareh-ye Do last night and even though it only listed 35 articles, XFDCloser couldn't handle it either and I needed to delete each article individually. So, I'm not sure if it the absolute number of articles in a multiple article nomination but how the nomination is set up.
Please review WP:BUNDLE before your next multiple article nomination and make sure that the code that you are using to list the articles is correct along with where you position them in the nomination statement. Perhaps hatting the additional articles interferes? I'm not sure. I'll try to think of some successful multiple article nominations and see what they did differently. Thanks! Liz Read! @Liz: From a technical perspective, maybe the nom can put all the pages in question on a separate page, say User:FOARP/sandbox, and apply batch delete to that separate page? Ovinus (talk) 02:00, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
I’ll give that a try in the next one! FOARP (talk) 10:18, 22 August 2022 (UTC)
