More[edit]

Thanks for email. Since one of your first edits is a full article about an obscure band, it's not unreasonable to assume that you have some connection to them, even if it's not your band. If you have a conflict of interest, you must declare it. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block.

Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the band, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the band claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • Your bare url refs are their own Spotify links, obviously not independent third-party sources
  • You don't give anything to show they are notable as defined above, such as awards, chart placings, stadium tours etc
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • You just present us with links to their music and social media, with no proper refs or content, which just looks like promo
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • Your social media external links are not permitted.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
I didn't check.

The fact that the band exists doesn't mean it gets an article here, it must meet the music notability guidelines. Unless you have omitted an important fact like a major award or chart placing, this band just isn't notable enough yet.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:58, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

i do know them although we do not talk and are not friends they are friends with my parents and we i haven't spoken to them in several years although i found out they had a band and i decided to listen to their songs (2 at the time) and i really liked the music. I guess this is a COI and i did not know i had to declare it FFelxii (talk) 15:17, 18 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I'll tag the talk page accordingly. I've tidied up your draft a bit. Although ABC is generally a reliable source, it is not here since the content is written my the band, so not an independent third-party source. Also, apart from the names of the songs, it doesn't confirm your text.
Triple J is streamed radio for unsigned musicians, and there is no indication how often, if at all, they were played on a proper rotation or otherwise meet the notability criteria linked above. It's clear that the platform is useful for undiscovered bands to get coverage and become notable, but just being on the site doesn't I think make the band notable. I won't delete, but at some stage you will have to submit it for review and see what happens Jimfbleak - talk to me? 09:04, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Don't delete it its still a work in progress and i have not submitted it for review yet FFelxii (talk) 10:54, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Quick question, do you have a connection to the subject? TarnishedPathtalk 13:56, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Not much he worked part time at my school a few years ago before quitting to pursue his music dreams. He never taught me. FFelxii (talk) 13:59, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In what capacity did he work at your school? Was he one of you teachers? TarnishedPathtalk 14:08, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
He was a support teacher for disabled students but i am not disabled and there were no disabled students in my class so he didn't spend time with my class but he did perform one of his songs at an assembly once. FFelxii (talk) 14:09, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
