ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, Extabulis. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2017 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 3 December 2017 (UTC)

Account creator granted

After reviewing your request for the "accountcreator" permission, I have enabled the flag on your account. Keep in mind these things:

  • The account creator right removes the limit on the maximum number of new accounts that can be created in a 24-hour period.
  • The account creator right is not a status symbol. If it remains unused, it is likely to be removed. Abuse of the account creator right will result in its removal by an administrator.

If you no longer require the right, let me know, or ask any other administrator. Drop a note on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of the account creator right. Happy editing! — xaosflux Talk 12:34, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

Note, this will expire in a week - if you have more events in the future just stop by WP:PERM. Best luck for your event. — xaosflux Talk 12:35, 6 March 2018 (UTC)
Thanks very much, Xaosflux! Right now I just have this one event, but plan to continue hosting edit-a-thons at our library in the future. extabulis (talk) 14:01, 6 March 2018 (UTC)

Ways to improve Nicole Chesney

Hi, I'm Vexations. Extabulis, thanks for creating Nicole Chesney!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. I had trouble verifying the museum collections. Can you provide citations for those please? Thanks,

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Invitation to participate in study

Hello,

I am E. Whittaker, an intern working with the Scoring Team to create a labeled dataset, and potentially a tool, to help editors deal with incivility when they encounter it on talk pages. We are currently recruiting editors to be interviewed about their experiences with incivility on talk pages. Would you be interested in being interviewed? The interviews should take ~1 hour, and will be conducted over BlueJeans (which does allow interviews to be recorded). If, so, please reply to this message or email me at ewhit@umich.edu in order to schedule an interview. .

Thank you Ewitch51 (talk) 15:14, 16 May 2018 (UTC)

Hi Ewitch51 - thanks for your invite, but I've really only had one experience with an editor who was not civil, and it was long enough ago that I don't remember all the details. So while I'd like to help you, I don't think I'd be of much use! Best of luck with your study. extabulis (talk) 12:34, 21 May 2018 (UTC)
