Again, welcome!

Re: Hey![edit]

Hehe, yeah I noticed your name also and wondered just how many ERS' there could be out there. Now that I actually check out your user page, where you've got your name clearly displayed, it makes it that much more obvious. ;-) Yep, all doing fine! Thanks for asking! --Maelwys 19:22, 4 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

~~~~[edit]
No idea why that isn't working. :-( Sorry. 1ne 08:15, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks[edit]
I didn't think it was really a "valid" point, but I thought I would throw it out there for a laugh. Thanks for getting it. Wavy G 06:39, 25 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Current Events Barnstar[edit]
Thanks! I feel so terrible for being the sole recipient of the barnstar because you did some minor edits right after the article was created in those crucial hours after the event. They distinctly showed in what direction you intended the article to go. Here! Have this flower as an entirely insufficient "you're welcome!" And thanks again ;) — Webdinger BLAH | SZ 22:11, 28 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
What The ???[edit]
So, you delete an entry that you don't like rather than digging a little deeper? Sorry to be the one to break it to you, but Frontier is the Wal-Mart of airlines. On the verge of? Almost? Just about? How much Frontier stock do you own? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.17.122.166 (talk)
First off welcome to Wikipedia.. While I believe your edits to Frontier Airlines are in good faith, and are NOT vandalism, They have not been cited properly. A quick google search pulled up starting pay of $14.00-$16.00 an hour, at least in Denver. Also, that search foun no proof of crew missmanagment in Kansas City. While both of these could be true, you provided no evidence. If you saw these personally then it would be considered original research, which is not usable on wikipedia. I hope this clears up why I have again deleted the sections you added. Again welcome to wikipedia. Happy editing. EnsRedShirt 09:28, 2 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dark Star (radio personality)[edit]
Pssst. *Nudge nudge*. You should probably leave an {{AFDWarning}} for Wahkeenah (talk · contribs) after nominating his Dark Star (radio personality) article for deletion. He's a pretty longstanding editor here (and someone I personally have quite a bit of respect for) so that would be a good civil gesture per WP:AFD#How to list pages for deletion. —Wknight94 (talk) 18:08, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the heads up first time nominating a page in AFD it's done. EnsRedShirt 18:18, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. There is also a {{PRODWarning}} for the WP:PROD process if you ever go there. —Wknight94 (talk) 18:21, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not deleting the deletion banner. In fact, since you're determined to delete it anyway, I am no longer watching the article. Wahkeenah 18:23, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Near as I can tell, the main difference between my guy and your guy is that my guy hasn't won any prizes awarded by the local media. No matter, I'm done with it. Wahkeenah 18:29, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know specifically what you're referring to, I don't recall attacking anybody, just arguing about it. I don't know how to prove that Dark Star is as "notable" as that other local broadcaster on KSTP, since there's nothing in his article to suggest that, except the presence of a photo and the fact that a local newspaper gave him an award. It's over. You win. Wahkeenah 18:36, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think the other guy is any more notable, but there is no question the Dark Star article could be written better. It's a bit of a hodge-podge at present. Wahkeenah 21:08, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
3RR[edit]
Watch out for the three revert rule on the UA article. I'll revert a bit more, but this isn't exactly vandalism. --Matt 06:08, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yea I am done but it is vandalism as it is POV and Uncited. Thanks for the heads up.EnsRedShirt 06:19, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
A fine line, but let me know if you need backup on something like this to avoid 3RR. Cheers --Matt 06:22, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Eh I am not going to revert again unless it sits out there a couple of hours.. and if someone has a problem with it, they obviously can't read.. - EnsRedShirt 06:29, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
You guys should be the ones suffering from the 3RR because you keep going and changing what I write. Why doesn't someone revoke your writing privilege for it? What I am writing is pure fact and nothing less. There are no sources cited in what was already written in the UAL article. Is this a special rule for me? Besides that, I dont need a source because I am the source. I WAS THERE!!! I want to talk to someone in charge here because I shouldn't have to argue with someone like you - TRIPxCORE
You want a source for my Summer From Hell part of the article? Go look at this:
http://www.chicagotribune.com/chi-unitedday3-story,0,4838025.story?coll=chi-unitednavover-misc
So this should satisfy your ridiculous demands and now leave my contribution alone! - TRIPxCORE
Hey ERS,
Just thought you might be interested to comment on the fact that you've been nominated for deletion ;-) --Maelwys 12:50, 13 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I just wanted to let you know that I removed the speedy tag you place on Dog and Partridge. You said it was a CSD G1 -- "patent nonsense". Looking at the article, it certanly does not qualify as patent nonsense. I'm not asserting that the article needs to stay, for example it's possible that this could be a CSD A7, but I am saying that it is not a CSD G1. Thanks! --- Deville (Talk) 13:51, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was just putting it back, I was not the original nominator. The person who originaly put it up put it up in a different state, the original page creator then removed it in an update in violation of the rules, I just put it back on. EnsRedShirt 15:29, 16 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Courtesy note about ArbCom proceeding[edit]
Hiya, just wanted to drop you a courtesy note to let you know about a current ArbCom proceeding where your name is briefly mentioned: Wikipedia:Requests for arbitration/Naming Conventions. No action is needed on your part, though if you would like to participate in the case by offering a statement, evidence, or comments on the workshop page, you are more than welcome. British, American, and universal English usage[edit]
Good morning ERS.
I still think my edit to Denver International Airport changing "pavement" to "paved area" was justified. However, the edit comment that I provided was somewhat substandard. My intent was NOT to change an American usage to a British one; it was to change an American usage to one which would be universal among English speakers.
I am an American, but according to John Cletheroe, who is a Brit who writes travel advice for people visiting the United States and Canada, the British usage of "pavement" is equivalent to our American word "sidewalk", i.e. it only applies to paved pedestrian paths.
(Cletheroe goes on to say that in America the word "pavement" refers to the roadway instead of the sidewalk, which of course is not correct -- in America, "pavement" refers to any and all areas that are paved, regardless of their use -- but Cletheroe is an Englishman and can therefore be excused if he doesn't exactly understand the American usage. I am relying on him for the British usage.)
When I referred to the "paved area", I was attempting to refer, briefly, to runways, taxiways, and automobile roadways (and I guess sidewalks also -- why not) in an unambiguous fashion.
May I reinstate this edit?
Explanation?[edit]
Now that I've dug it up, can you explain this edit of yours? I somewhat hope there is some context and mitigating circumstances to it because, at face value, it seems to have driven off a brand new good-faith editor forever. —Wknight94 (talk) 18:42, 10 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cingular & AT&T[edit]
I don't want to come off as trying to sidestep discussion, but I think that i provided a pretty good argument for calling it Cingular (for now) on the talk page, but changed and moved the page to avoid confusion to anyone who just happens to come and read the article, to find out about Cingular/AT&T/Whatever you want to call it. aido2002 22:18, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But you were in the wrong, as the page is/was moved protected, as for your argument you refuse to face facts that At&t has started the conversion, even if it is not on the website yet. EnsRedShirt 06:54, 20 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Guidelines and WikiProjects[edit]
Hi, EnsRedShirt. You appear to be confused about the difference between a guideline and a WikiProject. I've written a full respose to your comment at WT:TV-NC, but I also wanted to point you towards this conversation, where the issue is explained rather well. —Josiah Rowe (talkcontribs) 10:01, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
This is to call your attention to the fact that someone else has created a project of the kind you had earlier proposed. On the basis of the project now existing, I am removing your proposal from the proposed projects page. Sorry that someone else created it without checking with you, but the project does seem to be off to a good start. Badbilltucker 20:28, 25 January 2007 (UTC) [reply]
Explanation Desired[edit]
On the Trivia aspect of the Star Trek Voyager page, you eliminated by comment that Tuvok's rank insignia was due to a costume error. Why? It is a known fact and the character was never called "Commander" during the period that he wore the LtCmdr rank. --205.237.164.110 19:36, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well the main reason was it wasn't sourced. EnsRedShirt 04:41, 28 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
My edits were accurate.
Accurate or not there was nothing to prove it, which is required on wikipedia WP:Cite. EnsRedShirt 07:03, 3 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Citing Referenses[edit]
I am working on the Burger King advertising article and am having some trouble citing the reference I used in garnering the data.
Here are a list of things I need help with:
  1. I watched commercials that were available on YouTube and RetroJunk; these older ads provided me with several of the older slogans and product information, but I have read that these websites should not be used as references. That the commercials exist is a fact and the information they provide is true, so how do I cite them?
  2. I used the copyright information in the commercials to date slogans, how would that be cited?
  3. Where there was a cross-promotional ad (E.G. Aladdin and BK Kids club) that included a slogan, I used the release date of the material that was being cross-promoted (from IMDb). So if Aladdin came out in 1992 and a slogan was in a commercial that was featuring the cross-promotion, the slogan is from 1992 also. That is a legitimate research technique that is used a lot of situations, I just do not know how to cite it.
All help would be greatly appreciated.
Heroes (TV series)[edit]
Thanks for stopping a potential revert war about that dumb "Goldmember" connection. Yours was the best solution. Primogen 07:11, 27 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Pilgrim18 - why did you erase what i typed? It follows perfectly in the story. You deleted information not yet presented on the page.
To Be completely honest? It's pure Speculation and not shown at all in the show, especially in Distractions where at least one of those two items is directly contradicted, when Benett is thrown across the room telepathicaly by Sylar. EnsRedShirt 23:01, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Producers of The 1 Second Film[edit]
I believe that a link to the IMDb page for Producers of The 1 Second Film would be appropriate on the Wikipedia page for that film, as it proves exactly what the article is claiming -- that IMDb does not list all the producers individually. See Producers of the 1 Second Film at IMDb. --Metropolitan90 04:26, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But anyone could put that up.. A link to a notification on the 1Second film website announcing it would be better, no? EnsRedShirt 04:30, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If that's a concern, I suggest we list both sources, which I will put into the article. --Metropolitan90 09:12, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mobile ESPN[edit]
That works for me.--CastAStone|(talk) 19:34, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I reverted the first time more out of not wanting the article to be factually inacurate rather then the fact you changed it. EnsRedShirt 19:35, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Mike Myers[edit]
I suspect this was his intended joke. -- Jim Douglas (talk) (contribs) 07:57, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That was my thought as well at first, but none of the dates add up, and other then Myers being Canadian I don't see a connection. EnsRedShirt 08:05, 10 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
School[edit]
Looks good to me! It'll look even better with a school infobox, and a couple more references. But even as it is, it's pretty solid. Nice job. :) --Elonka 11:58, 25 February 2007 (UTC) [reply]
Stargate[edit]
I'd just like to mention I have nothing against you, most of my comments are aimed at Matt who has unfortunately gotten under my skin by simply posting one link replies to rules or suggestions that have little relevance to what is at hand and has generally taken a holier than thou attitude to the whole thing. I have nothing against you though, sorry if I have caused you any offence. I'm wondering if this mediation thing you mentioned is the only way forward. --Zikar 22:01, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
If it does go its not going to turn out the way you like, as more than likely the mediators will agree that this doesn't belong in the article. EnsRedShirt 00:01, 10 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"Speculation"[edit]
Just so you know, I would call it speculation also, but the first four were correct, and it correctly included a very unlikely team. --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 02:18, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Speculation is speculation, is speculation.. It won't be verified by the production crew and as such does not have a place on wikipedia. EnsRedShirt 02:20, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
But if the first, let's say 8 teams are correct, you still would call it speculation? --TeckWiz ParlateContribs@ 02:22, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It doesn't matter if it is entierly correct, it is a speculative list with no source of verification, wikipedia is not a fan site, and as such this list has no place here. EnsRedShirt 02:25, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
James Bond girls[edit]
Ok, i can understand where your coming from, but, if you go to Talk:James Bond, i posted a thread stating what i intended to do, but nobody replied therefore i assumed that noboddy objected, so i went along the process. I posted that on 2nd March, it now the 18th (australia), so thats more than 2 weeks response time so .... You are welcom to undo what i did but why not undo all the pages... I will not revert Christmas Jones until I fell it is necassary. SpecialWindler 21:47, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
fact of the matter is it was out of process as it should be on the pages your moving.. I have Christmas Jones on my watch list, not James Bond.. This is the first I have heard of this, and I objected. No one commenting doesn't mean concensus has been reached, just that no one found the discussion. EnsRedShirt 21:50, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
but now christmas jones is out of line with the rest of them..., if you know what i mean, and if people had of objected they should have said so, and i would not have done the job????? SpecialWindler 21:56, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Point is you didn't mention it at all on any of the pages you moved.. I will be slowly moving them back.. Your welcome to do that first, and actually notify the users you didn't before hand. EnsRedShirt 22:54, 17 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
(This is a reply to your message on Talk:James Bond)I have added a novel part to the top of the "List of James Bond girls in (DN,FRWL,GF,TB,YOLT,OHMSS,DAF,LALD,TMWTGG,TSWLM,MR,FYEO,OCT,AVTAK,TLD and CR). This allows characters from the novels to be added to the pages. I will also add a novel part to the intros of all the pages in Allies and Henchmen. I did not change LTK,GE,TND,TWINE,DAD because they are original stories. I think due to the shortness of each Bond girl page they should be joined. The Vesper Lynd page is the longest Bond girl page out of the 40 odd girls. Now that averages 2 Bond girls per film page, but it gets rid of small (not important) Bond girl articles including Patricia Fearing, Plenty O'Toole, Corinne Dufour, Bibi Dahl, that countess from fyeo, Pola Ivanova, Dr. Molly Warmflash, to be joined. But this way more Bond girls can be added such as Liz from TLD, that peaceful fountains from DAD etc.. SpecialWindler 08:28, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
PS-if i was to put a merge thingo on every bond girl page, it would have taken ages, ok... —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SpecialWindler (talkcontribs) 08:31, 18 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Ahh but then people would have been notified.. EnsRedShirt 08:44, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
i spose, still. SpecialWindler 08:52, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yea but now you have to move them back as concensus seems to be heading that way.. EnsRedShirt 08:53, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
still, nobody (but you (no offence)) has a big objection about the move. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SpecialWindler (talkcontribs) 09:00, 18 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]
Funny, Comments on your talk and at the James Bond article seem to be agreeing with me.. EnsRedShirt 09:02, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually rereading it, i must apolisgise some are going your way but others my, despite only a few other comments. In response to what you said on Talk:James Bond, I must state that it is easy to define a Bond girl, first there is a list at Bond girls and any girl in a Bond film that romantically gestures with Commander James Bond, is considered a Bond girl (though I don't know why they consider Valenka of Casino Royale a bond girl). 202.83.118.27 10:09, 18 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
