I'm not fan of any platform, but I have access to complete list of Google play applications (it is internal information and I can't publish it), and there sure not exist 600000 aplications, I don't know why, but maybe is counted all android application, not only on official google play market (in wiki is number related to google play not to android) AppBrain statistis are not based on appbrain users, but on real numbers of available apps in google play (only split between regular and lowquality is maybe speculative, I may remove it from wiki). Sure appbrain numbers are not 100% reliable, but are much more closer to real, then unsourced rumor about fictive 600000apps on some bye-the-way talk on some presentation.
