Boxers and the nationalities

Ok, I'm pretty sure it's a control character for bidirectional text, but I don't know how you entered it. It wasn't entered as an HTML entity, because it not only confuses the wiki, but it also confuses Firefox's "view source" window (source code immediately after the character actually displays backwards in the source window!). It's completely invisible to everything. I can enter my own control character manually as an HTML entity, but it displays when editing the page again, and doesn't confuse the textarea; whereas yours doesn't display anywhere. I can copy and paste the chunk of text to reproduce the effect, but I can't figure out how to create it from scratch. PLEASE clue me in, it takes a lot to intrigue me these days. Thanks.

But I tried that, see User:Equazcion/Sandbox4. It works, but it doesn't quite do what happens on your page. In my sandbox page, you can edit the page and see the HTML code and see the &#8238;. It doesn't affect the editing at all. When editing your page, the edit box is affected, and the character code is invisible, even when viewing the source code in Firefox -- and like I said, it even messes up the view source window, making some code display backwards! How come that doesn't happen in my sandbox page?

FL Main page proposal

You either nominated a WP:FLC or closed such a nomination recently. As such, you are the type of editor whose opinion I am soliciting. We now have over 400 featured lists and seem to be promoting in excess of 30 per month of late (41 in August and 42 in September). When Today's featured article (TFA) started (2004-02-22), they only had about 200 featured articles and were barely promoting 20 new ones per month. I think the quality of featured lists is at least as good as the quality of featured articles was when they started appearing on the main page. Thus, I am ready to open debate on a proposal to institute a List of the Day on the main page with nominations starting November 1 2007, voting starting December 1 2007 and main page appearances starting January 1 2008. For brevity, the proposal page does not discuss the details of eventual main page content, but since the work has already been done, you should consider this proposal assuming the eventual content will resemble the current content at the featured content page. Such output would probably start at the bottom of the main page. The proposal page does not debate whether starting with weekly list main page entries would be better than daily entries. However, I suspect persons in favor of weekly lists are really voicing opinions against lists on the main page since neither TFA nor Picture of the day started as weekly endeavors, to the best of my knowledge. But I've only been active for four months, and I really should have some experience contributing to articles first. Plus, I have no experience with AFD's, which seems to be a necessary condition for adminship, as I have seen it others' RFA's. However, your message is quite gratifying. I see stuff like that often too, you know -- usually often off of DerHexer and Oxymoron83 and AngelOfSadness, and sometimes you. Maybe it has to do with when I do vandal patrol that we keep running into each other. It doesn't matter though -- AfD isn't important to me -- but contributing to articles is. This is an encyclopedia, the main point of which it to contribute to. I'm just an ancillary member, currently, I'll I've managed to do is keep the status quo, which isn't improving the encyclopedia. Eventually, say winter break, hopefully, I will get around to adding to a number of math, CS, and possibly science articles, since these are my passions, and what I know most about. Till then, though what I do is important, and my understanding of policies are pretty good, I need to do much of what the most important task in the encyclopedia is before running. After winter break, when I'm back at college, I may be open to a nom, if I've done what I say I'll do. But ask me first. (Also, me contributing to articles will leave you open to do some RC patrol!)
