The article MINDTRAVEL has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This article is a recreation of another article for the same album that was redirected to the singer's page. See here. This has happened for several albums. Article creator is probably not aware of the redirects, which were conducted due to lack of notability.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. File request?[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you added the album cover for the artice The Seven Wonders of the World (album) that I wrote... I'm guessing that means you have the ability to upload files. So, I wanted to ask you if you could upload a screenshot of the website [1] and put it on the Progarchives page. Wikipedia threatened to delete the page if I didnt expand it more (it just wasnt enough for them), so I'm doing all i can to expand it and make it acceptable. You can find screenshots from google images.
Thanks!
--Andy (talk) 16:43, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Andy, I've looked at your Progarchives article and it's coming together nicely. I made a small adjustment to it today. As for a screen shot, if you look at Wikipedia articles for other websites there usually is not a screen shot (at least not for serious sites) and I think the issue is copyright. (One big exception is Facebook for some reason.) But I don't think a screen shot will save your article from the deletionists at Wikipedia. What you really need is more references to other media and websites that have talked about Prograrchives.com. See the WP rule on verifiable sources. Perhaps news articles in which musicians have praised the site, etc.
Also, uploading files can be done by anyone. Just use the "Upload file" link in the Toolbox section of the menu bar at the left side of the page. You follow a bunch of steps, upload the file, get a file name, and then add that to an article while editing. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:45, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reassessments[edit]

Hi. I see that you're working to update assessments, which is nice, but I'm really curious about your criteria. I noticed that you ranked the importance of Juju Music as low. According to our project's assessment scale, "The article covers an album that has a low level of historical or cultural notability." Juju Music is the major label debut and first international release of one of the most influential performers of all time (according to Gorlinski, Gini (2010). The 100 Most Influential Musicians of All Time. Rosen Pub Group. ISBN 9781615300068. Retrieved 18 August 2010., anyway); the article mentions that the New York Times credits it with launching worldbeat music in the United States.(Watrous, Peter. (September 13, 1990) Into Juju's ecstatic heart The New York Times. Retrieved 29-01-08.) I've always avoided the "importance" scale for this reason (it's so subjective!), but I wonder why this seems of low historical or cultural notability.

Also, I see that you downgraded janet. Remixed, quite rightly, but I wanted to point out that by our guidelines, it isn't even a "C". To reach "C", an article has to incorporate at least one other section of prose beyond the lead. The last person from the project to actually assess it properly rated it a start, but another contributed evidently didn't care for the change. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 18:49, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What I'm really doing is tackling articles of unknown Importance, which is pretty easy to figure out. There are tens of thousands of unknown Importance album articles and I hope I'm making a dent. And while I'm doing that, I read the article and see if the existing Class makes sense. As for Class, regardless of the specificity of the criteria, everything is subjective and a matter of opinion. I get these kinds of comments sometimes, and all I'll say is that I thought something was C-class (or whatever) for various reasons based on the guidelines, and if someone thinks it's not C-class (or whatever) based on the guidelines, then that's everyone's opinion and so be it. I did an edit, and you can do a re-edit. Everyone's a volunteer and it's all good. I just prefer to see something other than the old ??? in those assessment fields.
I'll also point out that I've stumbled on a whole bunch of so-called B-class articles during this process that aren't even close to B no matter how who look at it. It's probably the result of cheerleading by fans of those albums, so I can clean things up a bit by bumping them back to a Class that makes sense, be it C or Start or even Stub, also as a matter of opinion. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 18:57, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Some of it may be cheerleading, but some of it may also be due to the fact that we didn't used to have a C class. We spilled a lot of ink figuring out how to separate Start, B and C when that division happened in 2008. :) I'm not sure I agree with you entirely for that reason that "everything is subjective and a matter of opinion"; the class, afterall, is meant to reflect project consensus. Once in a while an article fits into a different class because of some outstanding factor or another, but by and large we did at least at one point agree that these dividing factors were largely fair.
I don't, however, really understand yet the criteria you bring to bear on Importance. Can you specifically tell me why you think Juju Music is of low importance? --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:07, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh come on, what's the big deal? This is the kind of thing where total agreement is impossible because the guidelines have flexibility built into them thanks to the effort to reflect consensus, as you said. As for Juju Music I had the opinion that the album is more important in some regions but not internationally. But if you think "Low" is inaccurate, then just go ahead and change it. Before today there was nothing in that field, so we're both active volunteers. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:13, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I wasn't aware there was a big deal. I'm merely asking you to explain your opinion, which seems kind of reasonable to me. Certainly I don't intend anything confrontational in my tone. As to my updating it, our project doesn't encourage that: Wikipedia:WikiProject Albums/Assessment, "You cannot choose an article if you have made significant contributions to it." --Moonriddengirl (talk) 19:20, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer[edit]

Hello Doomsdayer520, Thank you for posting the album cover "Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer." That album has been out of print for many years, and we would like to respectfully ask if you would consider posting the SongBMG album cover that is still being actively mareketed in stores and online. We have the jpg image we could send in an email. Not sure where to attach the file. We are new at editing to the wikipedia site. Thank you for any help you can give us.

Dr. Elmo —Preceding unsigned comment added by DrElmo (talkcontribs) 19:02, 26 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Elmo, here's the easiest way to do this. In the menu options at left side of the Wikipedia page, make sure the list for Toolbox is open, then select Upload File. That takes you to a page with a bunch of options for different file types. Click on The cover of an album or a single. On the next screen, select in an infobox about the album/single. The next screen is where you upload the file itself. In the Source file area attach your file like you would on an e-mail. In the File description area complete as many fields as you can. In the Licensing field select Album Cover. Then click Upload File at the bottom, which will give you a file name. Then go to Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer and edit the page. In the Cover field, remove my code for "Grandma_Reindeer.jpg‎" and replace it with your new file name. Let me know here you have any problems. Sincerely, --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 16:24, 28 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for {{{1}}}[edit]

Thanks for uploading [[:{{{1}}}]]. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on [[:{{{1}}}|this link]], then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

Blue Monday[edit]

Hey DoomsDayer,

I wanted to include the review parameter to show Allmusic's rating, and I don't think it is in the single's infobox. Do you know how to put one in that? - Theornamentalist (talk) 19:17, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, good work on that new article by the way. Sorry you had to do research into that song! Anyway, the item is definitely a single plus video so that's why I got rid of the Album Infobox. What you're trying to do with the AllMusic review is a great idea (every little bit helps) but it appears to me that the Single Infobox isn't equipped. You could mention the review out in the main article text. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 19:25, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ha thanks, I only listened to it once... and it wasn't as torturous as I remember, kind of nostalgic. I requested for the infobox to have the reviews parameter, as I've seen singles have reviews from Allmusic and Pitchfork before, so we'll see. - Theornamentalist (talk) 20:57, 21 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a comment on the notability of this individual album? I pointed out that my main concern is the lack of sources. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 05:00, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In removing a PROD I placed on an article, Daylight of Spring, you referenced the NOTCLEANUP essay as part of your reasoning. I just wanted to let you know that I disagree with your assertion. NOTCLEANUP is geared towards poorly written and formatted articles, but does not excuse articles that fail to establish notability and fail to supply sources. (Also, at around 300,000 strong, tagging articles as unsourced has proven to be a less than ideal solution.) The article will be placed at AfD shortly. Sven Manguard Wha? 21:32, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct about what WP:NOTCLEANUP is for, and I don't think that particular article deserves much consideration. The problem is the quick prose in your PROD and the new AFD. What you said here is far more descriptive (and believable), but if someone reads your PROD and AFD, it appears that you're saying the article should be deleted because it's poor quality. You gave no indication that you actually searched for sources. --DOOMSDAYER520 (Talk|Contribs) 15:35, 11 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
As, sorry. I assume experianced editors follow due process, and had been under the impression that most users did the same thing. This is not to say that you're wrong, but rather to say that in many AfDs I participated in are much less expilcit, following the basic pattern of "Delete: Fails {policy}" making up the entirety of the comment. BTW, those albums need their own articles--they're much more important than many others here that are nothing but a tracklist--but it's not that easy to find reliable and useful material. License tagging for File:PSeeger AT 89.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:PSeeger AT 89.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:07, 9 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Economic Trivia[edit]

"Climb Every Mountain"
1 trillion sec=31,546 yrs, $1/sec=$86,400/day, it would take 32,000 years to reach a trillion~

In 1960 the US exported 3.5 billion more than it imported. In 2009 it imported 374 billion than it exported~ In 1978 China made 200 air conditioners a year, in 2005, it made 48 million. China today exports in a single day more than it exported in all of 1978.
