"Information icon Hello, I'm Dl2000. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Indian Parliament, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Information icon Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Indian Parliament, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Dl2000 (talk) 23:28, 6 March 2015 (UTC)"

Hello Dl2000, The page doesn't include any argument or citation needed or any clarification required to page, hence the page is wrongly listed in "page have some issues" It will be right to remove that template, moreover if any clarification is needed then one should go statement wise and not to list whole article as "issue in article". The tagging is vague. Also there was two templates used for Calender/Date use, I just removed one. Either add citation tag where-ever needed, if not then remove article tag. Change to Thiago Motta

if anything you should really be thanking me. all I ever do is update football players on wiki quicker than anyone else and yet always seems to be reverted? i even change the 'pc' and still same thing happens.

i don't understand why adding international appearances to motta's page causes such a harm? Thedorigi (talk) 23:29, 20 January 2015 (UTC)|Thedorigi}}

The concern about Thiago Motta came from User:Qed237, not me. My message regarded your unexplained edits on Mario Lemina, in particular this edit in which you introduced a section about Olympique de Marseille without indicating where this information came from. According to WP:BLP and WP:V, you should indicate sources for your additions and changes. On a separate concern, you should also review WP:SIG and WP:ES. Dl2000 (talk) 23:22, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
On Thiago Motta you added a completely unsourced section to a WP:BLP. Please read WP:BLPSOURCES. QED237 (talk) 23:29, 20 January 2015 (UTC)

Hi,

Please enlighten me. As far as I checked I could not find dates that does not comply with the DMY format. Please point out to me where I missed one or two;-)_/)_/)_/) ˷˷˷˷˷˷˷˷ _/) NED33talk 20:49, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

This particular tag is not like typical cleanup tags - as the documentation in {{use dmy dates}} indicates, it should not be removed even after everything is in order. Hope this explains the situation. Dl2000 (talk) 20:54, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
You are probably right however I consider this digital pollution;-)_/)_/)_/) ˷˷˷˷˷˷˷˷ _/) NED33talk 20:59, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
Maybe someday they'll convert article tags into side flags, something that is selected outside the article content, like how Wikidata sets up links to other language versions of articles. Until then, happy editing. Dl2000 (talk) 21:03, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
I learn tot live with it, bit it still strikes me that the default value is taged. I would expect tagging the exeptions is more efficient and less annoying for those who do it right. But that is not your fault. Thanks for explaining the situation. _/)_/)_/) ˷˷˷˷˷˷˷˷ _/) NED33talk 06:08, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

About your (non)participation in the January 2012 SOPA vote

Hi Dl2000. I am Piotr Konieczny (User:Piotrus), you may know me as an active content creator (see my userpage), but I am also a professional researcher of Wikipedia. Recently I published a paper (downloadable here) on reasons editors participated in Wikipedia's biggest vote to date (January 2012 WP:SOPA). I am now developing a supplementary paper, which analyzes why many editors did not take part in that vote. Which is where you come in :) You are a highly active Wikipedian (62nd to be exact), and you were active back during the January 2012 discussion/voting for the SOPA, yet you did not chose to participate in said vote. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me why was that so? For your convenience, I prepared a short survey at meta, which should not take more than a minute of your time. I would dearly appreciate you taking this minute; not only as a Wikipedia researcher but as a fellow content creator and concerned member of the community (I believe your answers may help us eventually improve our policies and thus, the project's governance). PS. If you chose to reply here (on your userpage), please WP:ECHO me. Thank you! --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 23:22, 11 February 2015 (UTC)

2009 Bradford Bulls season

Hi pal, just a quick one. I appreciate you reverting the changes to the 2009 Bradford Bulls season page. It shows that somebody at least cares about the work that goes on, on those pages. I have gone through all the season pages from 1996-2008 to edit and bring them in line with more current pages (2015 Bradford Bulls season). I was doing the same with the 2009 page before your revert, although I understand fully your reasoning behind it would it be possible please if I could revert your changes to bring the page to a similar layout. Thank you for your time. Migitgem2009 (talk) 19:25, 25 February 2015 (UTC)

The work is noted, but be aware that your edits deleted a number of references to BBC articles. That raises a potential red card on Wikipedoa as BBC items are generally considered reliable sources, and articles require that sufficient referencing be maintained (WP:V). Steve Nardelli

Hi. About a year back, you warned User:Digbyjohn about his/her editing of Steve Nardelli. I would appreciate an additional perspective on Digbyjohn's current edits of The Syn (Nardelli's band). I have tried engaging with Digbyjohn, but I haven't gotten anywhere so far and I don't want to just get into an endless revert loop. I feel an external party may help resolve the situation. Thanks for any input. Bondegezou (talk) 11:00, 11 March 2015 (UTC)

Hello again. Thanks for your earlier input. If you look at the revision history for The Syn, you will see User:Digbyjohn is back doggedly re-re-inserting the same material without any discussion. Any advice/input welcome. I will also try posting to Digbyjohn's Talk page. Bondegezou (talk) 13:25, 23 March 2015 (UTC)
@Bondegezou: Seems quiet on The Syn/Nardelli front for the moment, and have weighed in at Talk:The Syn. However, if that unref/undiscussed edit happens again, the next steps seem to be raising a final warning to Digbyjohn, then WP:AIV, or perhaps bring to WP:ANI. TIm (Company) page merging

Hi, Telecom Italia and Tim are the same cloned page. Ketmoorn (talk) 13:45, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

@Ketmoorn: Perhaps so, and we do need to sort out the duplicate article names, but there did not seem to be a strong consensus yet on which article name should apply (TIM or the full Telecom Italia Mobile). It would be helpful to sort this out wiht a bit more discussion, and there still seemed to be discussion going on at Talk:TIM (Company) which hasn't settled yet. Also, redirects are preferable to speedy deletion to handle such cases. Dl2000 (talk) 13:57, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Lead paras with links and crappy advertising

Your edit at Quadrant leaves me somewhat reluctant to engage in an edit war but.

Lead paras and sentences that have refs is nonsesniscal - they are meant to be summaries - have you ever queried an article on a mobile pghone with cluttered refs included?

Having the price in the text like that makes it look like and ad.

Sorry, but I am very impressed by aspects of your edit history, but that is not one. satusuro 04:34, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

It was actually User:Chjoaygame who undid your changes. Perhaps edit summaries more explanatory than "lead para changed" would help clarify things. Dl2000 (talk) 04:48, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
always confused indeed - you are of course one of my heroes in the oz editing field (ever diminishing) - someone who actually takes it seriously and does the dots and endless dmy and engvar work - like longhair all those years ago - so my apologies for the accusation - my edit summaries by habit are obstuse, obscure and usually very unhelpful - thanks for pointing that out. cheers satusuro 04:55, 12 April 2015 (UTC)
OK, no probs... hopefully the follow-up edits at Quadrant have cleaned things up a bit. Dl2000 (talk) 04:57, 12 April 2015 (UTC)

Sara Loren

I reverted the recent edits to Sara Loren, which consisted of a large edit by an ip that reintroduced the birth date without addressing the concerns, and introduced at least one new source that simply has no business being in the article. Date format change on 7 Seeds

I have reverted your change of the date style on the article 7 Seeds. Looking at the article's history, I do not see where the date format was ever used DMY style, so your change was entirely arbitrary. Per MOS:DATE the date style should not be changed unless there is a good reason to do so, such as a topic closely related to Europe which uses the DMY format. Since Japan published media uses the MDY style or more often one that is similar to the ISO date style, changing the date style to DMY is entirely entirely inappropriate. —Farix (t | c) 11:26, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

The DMY style, albeit mixed with ISO numeric dates, was evident in mid-2012. It seemed to have drifted to US-style formatting from there, which seemed to be the inappropriate change in this case. Dl2000 (talk) 21:15, 22 April 2015 (UTC)

Adding "df=yes" to {{Birth based on age as of date}}

Hi,

Your recent change to Anthony George Watson including adding "df=yes" to the {{Birth based on age as of date}} templates. I don't have any particular objection, but I was wondering why you made the change? That template can only ever display a year or range of years, so "date first" doesn't make sense...

Thanks,

me_and 08:57, 24 April 2015 (UTC)

Hmm... probably an infrequent case of confusing it with {{birth date and age}} at the time. Will remove the parameter, as you rightly point out, it is not needed. Will also update the lede since that type of template is not usually used - ({{circa}} seems better for that). Dl2000 (talk) 17:39, 26 April 2015 (UTC)
Not sure I agree with using {{circa}} here – we know the year is exactly one of two options, it's not "approximately" anything. —me_and 08:51, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Hey D12000. Reference to the edit I made to article William David Rudland on 29 April 1015, and your undo. I reversed it because I didn't feel the change was necessary and it created false information about the subject. I have spent over two weeks working in my sandbox to update this article and I have now erased my sandbox. The changes I made were an update to a previous article which contained a lot of incorrect information. The latest revision was designed to bring the infobox and inline citations in compliance with wiki procedures. I read extensively on both subjects. Help!! with deleted images in the 'Yeung Ku-wan' article

Am writing to you as am somewhat distressed at the recent deletion by a Bot of several images form the Yeung Ku-wan article:

"Orphaned non-free image File:Yang Quyun portrait s.jpg" and "Orphaned non-free image File:Yeung Kui-wan and Sun Yat-sen in Japan.jpg"

The Bot says that this is due to their being 'non-free'. It seems that perhaps I made a mistake in the copyright aspects when I uploaded the images. Please can you advise what I need to do to re-establish these images? I have a feeling that I need to 'mark them as for fair-use. Is that right? Would I have to re-upload them or can I modify the copyright criteria?

At the least can you guide me on 'fair use' means?

As I'm not very techy I would really appreciate your help as without these images the article is rather (read VERY) flat!!. Duncan.france (talk) 04:17, 18 May 2015 (UTC)

Chauvinism

Hey, thanks for the note -- not sure what happened, but I did (or at least thought I did) add the Oxford English Dictionary ("chauvisim" entry) as a citation, and it was there last I checked. My principle edit content-wise indicated "chauvnisim" applies to both groups and causes, whereas the previous entry limited its application to groups.

I've been doing (typically) minor, grammatical editing for a while, but this is my first time communicating with another user -- is this how it's typically done? You sent me a personal message... I didn't know how to reply to it.

Chauvinism 2

Hey, thanks for the reply -- I wasn't sure whether to add a new subject or edit my last message. Anyway, I checked several major dictionaries, including Webster's, I only cited the OED because it offers the most extensive etymology, and I used phrasing common to at least two dictionary; i.e., "one's own" and "group or cause." Some also include "gender," but "male chauvinisim" is covered as a seperate topic in the Wiki entry, so I omitted it. I figured since the scope of my edit was limited to the broading of the term to include excessive and blind zeal for groups and causes in general, not just jingoism (blind, unyielding nationalism), that the OED would be sufficient citation. Perhaps I should have cited at least two dictionaries? Webster's and the OED? The only new content was the inclusion of "causes" in addition to "groups" and the pharasing "one's own," which is represnative of the definition offered by the most credible dictionaries (such as the OED).

Anyway, appreciate the help! If I re-edit the entry, I'll be sure to include more sources. I have a few usage and style guides (AP, The New York Times, The Chicago Manual of Style) that I'll take a look at -- ideally, to the extent that a consensus exists among the major dictionaries and style guides, I think the entry should best reflect that consesus -- in other words, the reader ought to be presented with the term's most common and up-to-date usage. If there's a notable conflict (though I don't think there is) I suppose I can include that as well, as Grammar Girl does when usage guides she cites are inconsistent (e.g., her entry on spelling out numerals -- she notes some guides suggest spelling-out numerals one to one-hundred, but most recommend only one to ten). Beyond dictionaries and style guides, is there further reference you'd suggest? Again, my scope is pretty limited here -- I'm not going into the word's origin or the eponymous historical figure on whom it is based. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joeletaylor (talkcontribs) 04:05, 20 June 2015 (UTC)

The name of the orchestra is the Cape Town Philharmonic Orchestra - it is in the legal process of being changed and the website changed. Multiverse date format

Hello, I am Dustin. I noticed that you attempted to unify the dates to a consistent format, but I think you unified the article to use the less common format. I'm not just trying to cause trouble, but double check maybe? Thanks! Dustin (talk) 03:44, 30 June 2015 (UTC)

Re: July 2015

Hi D12000, thanks for the leaving message. Your insights are well received. You specified that the page (Aluko & Oyebode) is an orphan one; I think there maybe a mistake with that because other articles link to the page. Kindly double check. Londstar6

OK, see a few pages such as Deyda Hydara linking to it - agree that this article is no longer an orphan. Most of the incoming links did seem to be non-articles (e.g. Wikipedia:, user or talk pages) which don't count per WP:O, so article links were easy to miss. Thx. Upsiderightmedia and Celebrity Cooks Wikipedia page conflicts

Thank you for taking the time to set me straight on a few things. I will certainly ask to change my user name ASAP.

Yes I do work currently with the original creator of the show and he has asked me to correct several omissions and a few inaccuracies. Of course he asked me to mention that a reboot of the original show is being developed. This is my first time writing for Wikipedia, and I will do my best to meet the standards that are set out.

Unfortunately for me, several spots in the original article offered subjective comments and one section (very strangely) made mention of a movie in which a character might have been based on the show's host and then followed that with a negative character evaluation of the character in the movie. "Heart Like a Wheel" may indeed have been the story of an actual person, but the show that the movie described has never had her as a guest. The producer asked me to make that clear. Bruno Gerussi, (the host of the show who was compared to the movie character) died in the 1990s, and is no alive to defend his own reputation.

Another section complained of the quality of the guests in a sweeping generalization that really ignores the popularity of the show and of several dozens of the guests at the time. It seems improper to use the 2015 standard of fame, when talking about a show that has been off the air for 28 years and aired for 12 years prior to that.

I guess that based on the existing content at the time, I may have added some comments that were also subjective. I will try to be much more objective with future edits.

Thank You

Removal of maintenance templates

The maintenance templates were removed as the issues were all remedied. Have you checked the page? Citations have been added everywhere possible. There is nothing now on the page which either reads like a resume or is subjective in manner so I am not sure why you continue to repost this on the page. If there is anywhere at all on the page where you can specifically point to as reflecting the 3 points on your maintenance template I would be grateful if you could advise. Otherwise please remove the templates. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ecochic (talkcontribs) 15:20, 12 July 2015 (UTC)

Carry Somers Wiki Page amendments

Hi, I am checking the Wiki entries for all UK fashion businesspeople. You have reinstated the messages on the Carry Somers re. the page not having sufficient inline citations, appearing like a resumé, etc. but do not appear to have taken into account the numerous changes which were made yesterday to the page. Every award listed now has a citation, unlike numerous other entries in the fashion category. If you compare Somers' entry with that of other UK fashion businesspeople on the same page such as https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safia_Minney or https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phil_Knight you will find that the Somers entry adheres closely to the Wiki rules and has far more citations. Please advise why these error messages have been reinstated as the subjectivity to which you refer does not appear to be present on this page. Please advise as to where specifically you see any subjectivity or you see the page as being like resumé so that the page can be amended. The changes made yesterday appear to have corrected all the errors. Thank you.

Hasty reversion

Hello, you left some quite abrupt - almost rude - template messages on my talk page and I think you acted hastily in doing so. I have re-reverted your revert because I believe you are mistaken in your edits, and would appreciate if you looked over them again before changing anything back. My edits have clearly improved the article vastly over what was a stub beforehand. Chase me ladies, I'm the Cavalry (Message me) 04:59, 19 July 2015 (UTC)

Thanks

Hi, Thanks for reverting my mistake on the Mohammed Abu article. I removed and because I thought it was old rubbish in the source. Could you please explain what they do? Cashewnøtt (talk) 12:00, 26 July 2015 (UTC)

I assume you are claiming strong national ties for the various articles in which you are changing the English variety, date format, and template tags. You should probably add WP:TIES to your edit summaries, because it is not immediately apparent, and it is not permitted to change these aspects of articles without such a compelling reason. Chatham galaxias

Hello. I see you have reverted changes on the Chathams galaxias page, restoring two categories. I am not sure if I edited this the wrong way. The Chatham galaxias isn't a species any more. It was first described as a Galaxias but ten years later it was revised into Neochanna and this has been accepted. Unfortunately there is a page for both names, so I have tried to clarify the situation on both. I removed it from Galaxias category because it isn't a Galaxias, and from the Freshwater fish of NZ because the other page is already listed there as one of the Neochanna. StellaMcQ (talk) 04:37, 14 August 2015 (UTC)

@StellaMcQ: Leaving an article without a category did raise a red flag, although the naming/species issues are noted. It seems reasonable that the articles should be merged - please see the article merge proposal discussion at Talk:Chatham mudfish#Proposed merge - Chathams galaxias to Chatham mudfish. Ah I see. Thank you :) StellaMcQ (talk) 03:05, 15 August 2015 (UTC)
