Hello, DinaMoore. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Donna Nolan-Wilson".

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, DinaMoore. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Little River Band, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the request edit template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted.

You explicitly say here that you are "getting paid to monitor this page". That means that you have to declare your paid status as described above, and you have to do that before doing any other editing.

Once you have complied with that requirement, please explain what you meant here where you said "All of this is being documented for legal purposes." Please read this information carefully. Thank you. bonadea contributions talk 09:37, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I have been blocked and this gives me no opportunity to fix any of this. Please advise.

No one will see your comments here unless you start the message with a link to the user names, eg Jimfbleak and sign it with four tildes ~~~~ in the same edit. To request an unblock you will need to post your reason here and sign Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:09, 28 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Jimfbleak I am probably totally doing this wrong. I am really not proficient with wikipedia but I am willing to learn. I would love to request and unblock

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I really didn't understand that there were rules. I would love a chance to edit and add to several music artists articles

Decline reason:

1. Pretty much the only article you seem to have edited in the last couple of years is Little River Band. Would you be willing to avoid it entirely for one year? 2. Please follow the directions below in the "2nd chance" section. Do not use Little River Band. --slakrtalk / 07:12, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the unblock template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Please review paid editing policy and explain what you mean when you say you are being paid to monitor the page. Please also explain your "legal purposes" statement. 331dot (talk) 02:26, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

331dot (talk) I only said those things in hopes of scaring some of the people who are putting up such biased comments. I have looked at many music artists pages, including Journey and none of them have the hate filled rhetoric on them like Little River Band has. I felt like I was at my wits end. Every time I would try and make changes that seemed more neutral, they were switched back. I am not proficient at this, I am a newbie and I am really not sure who to do any of this. If I broke the rules, I am sorry. Is there a guide I can read through? DinaMoore (talk) 02:32, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Comments[edit]

Your message didn't ping me because you didn't sign it, but I looked here anyway.

You have an obvious conflict of interest as stated here and you must formally declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:DinaMoore. The template Paid can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: . If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

You must withdraw this legal threat, see WP:NLT. You must also stop WP:Edit warring. If people post properly referenced text, it's too bad if you or your employers don't like it

Also read the following regarding writing an article

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the band, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the band claims or interviewing its members. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • you must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic.
  • there shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • you must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. You must also reply to the COI request above

I won't consisder your unblock myself, since that's not fair on you Jimfbleak - talk to me? 05:31, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

[[User:Jimfbleak| You may think me moronic but I don't know how to withdraw anything in Wikipedia. Can it be withdrawn for me? DinaMoore (talk) 06:28, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

All you need to do is say something like "I withdraw my legal threats". 331dot (talk) 10:58, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

2nd chance[edit]

This unblock request has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • If you have trouble choosing an article to improve, see this index of articles needing improvement for ideas. Once you have decided on the article you will propose improvements to:
    1. Click the Edit tab at the top of that article;
    2. Copy the portion of the prose from that article that you will be proposing changes to. However:
      • do not copy the "infobox" from the start of the article (i.e., markup like this: ...);
      • do not copy any image placement code (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the page's categories from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: );
      • do not copy the stub tag (if there) from the bottom of the page (i.e., markup like this: Foo stub);
    3. Click edit at your talk page, and paste at the bottom under a new section header (like this: == Article title ==) the copied content but do not save yet;
    4. Place your cursor in the edit summary box and paste there an edit summary in the following form which specifies the name of the article you copied from and links to it (this is required for mandatory copyright attribution): "Copied content from exact Name of Article; see that article's history for attribution."
    5. You can now save the page. However, if your edits will include citations to reliable sources (which they should), add the following template to the end of your prose: reflist-talk. Once you have added the template, click Publish changes.
  • Now, edit that content. Propose significant and well researched improvements by editing the selected portion of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "your question here ~~~~" to your talk page. Thank you.--slakrtalk / 07:13, 29 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
