Philippine Constabulary rank insignia additions[edit]

Hello Derrick, I have come across the Philippine Constabulary rank insignia from the early 1900s (before the US Army style rank insignia was adopted around 1907/1908):

Private - no rank insignia Corporal - 1 red chevron on the cuffs Sergeant - 2 red chevrons on the cuffs 1st Sergeant - 3 red chevrons on the cuffs (1901-1902), 3 red chevrons on the cuffs above a red disc (1902-1908) Inspector 4th Grade - 1 gold bar on the shoulders (in the style of US Navy officers, not like a 2nd Lt. pin on metal insignia) Inspector 3rd Grade - 2 gold bars on the shoulders Inspector 2nd Grade - 3 gold bars on the shoulders Inspector 1st Grade - 4 gold bars on the shoulders Assistant Chief of Constabulary - 1 thick gold bar on the shoulders Chief of Constabulary - 1 thick silver bar on the shoulders

Officer's rank insignia was worn below a metal gold eagle sort of like what US Army colonel wears. Chevrons were in the same style of the US Army at the time except they were worn point up. As a Filipino Wikipedian, I hope you are aware of the passage of Republic Act No. 10175, also known as the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012, which was signed into law by President Benigno Aquino III on September 12, 2012. Currently, there is a discussion on the Tambayan, the noticeboard for Philippines-related topics, about a proposed blackout of the English Wikipedia in the Philippines in order to protest the passage of RA 10175, similar to the blackout against SOPA and PIPA held earlier this year. I feel that your input on the subject will definitely help in the discussion.
