Irene Gauthier[edit]

I deleted an article in March because it had references only from her Institute of Myomassology; but another version with many more references was posted later and deleted after a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Irene Gauthier. An article on Myomassology was also deleted after Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Myomassology. You will see that concerns were promotion and a lack of independent references. In view of this history, it is likely that your Articles for Creation submission may be declined: what you may need to do is approach user Scientizzle (talk · contribs), the administrator who closed the deletion discussion, for permission to post a new article, and if he does not agree take it to WP:Deletion review. You could make a draft in your user space at User:Derek1974/Irene Gauthier to work on references. More comments tomorrow - I'm out of time tonight. JohnCD (talk) 22:53, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Some more comments on your draft: I think you need more in the way of references: Youtube is not considered a reliable source, and the three press ones have rather the air of responding to a press release about her 90th birthday. If her claim to fame is as a pioneer of a school of massage, one is really looking for professional recognition from outside that particular school, or at least outside recognition that the school is significant.
Also, you need to tone down the promotional language; Wikipedia requires a neutral point of view. "One of the leading massage therapy schools", "skilled and dedicated educator" - see WP:PEACOCK. And be careful of claims like "comparable in professional standing to Ida Rolf and Ilse Middendorf" unless you can cite a reliable independent source that says so. One of our fundamental principles is verifiability: "The threshold for inclusion in Wikipedia is verifiability, not truth—whether readers can check that material added to Wikipedia has already been published by a reliable source, not whether editors think it is true." Whenever you write something, imagine a critic saying "Where does it say that in your sources?"
A good way to get more feedback is to post a request at WP:Requests for feedback. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 18:39, 18 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
