Image Tagging Image:Andyhunter.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Andyhunter.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. -- Carnildo 09:33, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for creating this article. Good work. :-) Cribananda 20:59, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

Btw, Noticed that some of the material might be lifted from some of the references. I don't know about the copyright issues on the RPI website, but it might be a good idea to re-write the sentences...Cribananda 21:05, 3 December 2006 (UTC)

I'm not sure if you are aware, but the Greene Building had an extensive page that was recently deleted on grounds of lack of notability. (See it's Articles for Deletion page.) Also, it wouldn't hurt to cite references on the page (and all other pages you contribute to), per Wikipedia guidelines. Thanks, Alec 03:41, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for fixing this up, I would have done it myself but I have insufficient background in the subject, thanks again. -- Librarianofages 00:53, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

Warning RE: New Ivies

A tag has been placed on New Ivies, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article is a repost of either already posted material, or of material that was previously deleted under Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion. If you can indicate how New Ivies is different from all other articles, or if you can indicate why this article should not be deleted, I advise you to place the template {{hangon}}, and also put a note on Talk:New Ivies saying why this article should stay. An admin should check for such edits before deleting the article. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 4 under General criteria. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. We welcome your help in trying to improve Wikipedia, and we ask you to follow these instructions.

  • Please use a proper undeletion policy, rather than reposting already deleted material. This term hasn't gained traction, despite your claims, the google results are clones of the original newsweek/msnbc piece and the term isn't "notable" in other than its role as a marketing ploy by newsweek to sell magazines and their rankings of colleges using specious criteria to coming-of-age kids and their parents looking into where they should apply after high school. Stop wasting mine and other users time with this article. ExplorerCDT 03:08, 13 December 2006 (UTC)
    • FYI: New Ivies was speedy deleted about a half an hour after I posted the above message. —ExplorerCDT 04:03, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

phenothrin rewrite

Hi, nice cleanup on that article (I spotted it through AfC) but I think the product recall is encyclopedic info and should still be mentioned. Also, the layout in Firefox at 800x600 is completely messed up: the references links overlap the infobox. I've been seeing that problem in a lot of articles lately, due to the use of floating frames. I guess I'll stick a clr tag into the references section but better would be to add shorter anchor strings for those links, if you're up for it. I don't know of a more general solution. 67.117.130.181 13:40, 24 December 2006 (UTC)

I have addressed your concerns from the talk page in the article and left a reply on the talk page about the photo (I haven't been able to find one yet for use online, I hope to find one in the college's library when I return in a few weeks). Would you mind reviewing the changes and seeing if this satisfies the stipulations of your hold? Thanks! Metros232 03:50, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

RSE

I disagree with adding RSE to the Rensselaer template. Besselfunctions I think it sets a precedent for every fraternity article to be added, e.g. Epsilon Iota. Besselfunctions

Wrist PDA

Thanks for your updates to Wrist PDA (i still use the watch). Nominaladversary 23:56, 15 January 2007 (UTC)

I've added the "{{prod}}" template to your user page (User:Steve.hagy), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy).

Please note that the purpose of a user page is not as personal homepage or Wikipedia is not a general hosting service, but as way for active editors of Wikipedia to introduce themselves to other editors. If you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues here or on my user talk page. You may remove the deletion notice, and the page will not be deleted for the moment, but note that it may still be sent to Miscellany for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria.

P.S.: And don't screw around with my pages, either. Calton | Talk 08:35, 20 January 2007 (UTC)

Thank you very much

but that was no experiment. Saying that George Michael is the Banana Bluth Stand manager "but not 'Mr. Manager' ;)" is not cute or funny and doesn't belong in the article. Also, saying that he's not named after the famous singer-songwriter is redundant, the origin of his name is already stated. If you'll excuse me, I will revert your edit.--134.147.39.83 22:26, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned fair use image (Image:RPI quad2.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:RPI quad2.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Removal of db-spam tag from Steven Kray

Hi Danski14, you removed the db-spam tag I placed on the above article. This tag produces instructions on the page which include the instruction NOT to delete the tag. If you wish to contest the deletion you should put a hangon tag and then put your arguments against deletion on the article talk page.

Do you have any reasons why the db-spam tag should not be reinstated and correct procedure followed? Regards Phaedrus86 04:02, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for putting it back. The sequence of events was that you added a notability tag, then I added a db-spam tag, which you then removed. I can see it gets confusing with a blizzard of tags being added and deleted :-). I agree that it is best to leave the speedy delete request there and let the procedure take it's course. Regarding Kray's multiple articles, I accepted the argument that the article on his band, Tin Foil Phoenix, should stay, but I agree all the rest looks to me like non-notable self-promotion. A happy hello from RCEHOPPE

hi there! Thank you very much for your post, overall the first time that i started to post here, i really didn't understand on how things worked on wikipedia, and that is my fault. I am still trying to understand on how wikipedia works which i find really confusing and frustrating. Because for the most part, i have a learning disability which hampers my understanding of things in general from time to time, and i do get really frustrated when i start to work on EDITORIAL work, but i do what i can. And before i start this again ( as in just giving it an other shot.) I am looking for those who really know that they are doing when it comes to wikipedia. Within with my own experience (on line that is) and with dealing with "others" i have found that peaple like to hit on my weakness, ether allow it to be directly or indirectly , I really really find it frustrating to deal with, and that is putting it mildly.

HOWEVER, i (again) do what i can to deal with myself. The reason that i don't just give up, is i find my work to be very important especially with the world and how it is and starting to become. In short i am trying to contribute back in a positive way, threw the games that i ran/ or a part of, thus the ITA and my other work that is do.

As time goes on and on i really finding it more more important to keep doing what i have been doing...I do apologize if that sounds like a little epic in stature.

So get back to this, here is a link of the thoughts on the Delectation of the last work that was posted (http://www.highprogrammer.com/alan/rants/wikipedia-delete.html) with the person who help out.

anyways, to give you a littel bit of in sight on my learning disability, it has taking over 3 hours to write and to put together. in short i i still find wikipedia to be a grate place to be and overall i really could use some help in this together.

What do we need to do?

Thank you for your time in this matter

Alexa/ChemAxon

Hi. Sorry for the error, I was not attempting vandalism by posting the article under a new name, simply making an error while trying to have the page under my talk pages. The page has been reposted at Alex_Allardyce/ChemAxon while I try to figure out where I can edit it to be acceptable. My main issue is that this page is very similar in content to these pages 1, 2 yet these pages exist. I do understand that notable and cited are important but again I cannot see fundamental differences with these 2 examples. Can you actually help me understand this. I have looked over the Notable and cited linked already provided and see not help there in this case. I am also communicating with user Nihonjoe on this issue and hope that between us we can arrive at a suitable resolution. Many thanks Alex Allardyce 20:39, 3 February 2007 (UTC)

Saad Sami HADDAD

Thank you for your concern about my father's wikipedia article. Although I do appreciate your concern, I am new to wikipedia, so I need time to get the big picture, I do think that once before you were new to wikipedia like me. So I appreciate your compassion, and understanding. Can you point out what is clearly wrong in the article I wrote. Should it be a third person (not relative) to write it? Or is it the style it was written in.... All your comments are welcome. I became dizzy to see all the banner above the articles. It is like being slapped 3 times on the head. Thank you for your attention and your time.

Saad Sami HADDAD

Thank you for your time, and I mean it. Time is valuable. (some people might say it is money, but I do like this saying) I really appreciated your detailed explanation, to put me back on the track.

I will start working on the article. Please check it sometime tomorrow if you have time and tell me please if there are things i could still do. Thank you a lot. I am learning a lot already thanks to you.

Sincerly

Please help me more....

Dear Danski,

Sorry to say it again but THANK YOU alot. I mean it. Okay I have tried fine tuning the article(s) of my father's and brother's articles. I have noticed you helped me tag my father's tag thank you. Second by Second I am learning. I have also used internal links. (Saving the bandwith)

Regarding my brother I have made a mistake which i can not change since I do not have the Move Tab for some reason?!

Karim Haddad or HADDAD however in wikipedia it is shown this way Karim haddad (the family name is in lowercase) so having not figured out a way to change it I created the HADDAD Karim entry Sorry for this long sentence and I guess you must be quite busy helping everyone out there. The Question is how to correct the entry Karim haddad into Karim Haddad or HADDAD?

Thank you a lot again in advance. --Walid HADDAD 00:30, 4 February 2007 (UTC) Walid —The preceding unsigned comment was added by WALIDHADDAD (talkcontribs) 00:29, 4 February 2007 (UTC).

Hello. I have noticed you have left a clean-up tag at the article Adelaide of Löwenstein-Wertheim-Rosenberg which I have created as part of a series concerning the consorts of Portuguese royalty. Could you address your specific concerns at the article's talk page? I am not sure what I have to clean up.

The main problem was trying to locate an ancestor with an article of his/her own since we haven't really covered this particular line of the Wittelsbach. User:Dimadick

Usage of wikipedia logo.

Dear Danski.

I need to be sure about copyright issues, and I am afraid only you can help see clearly through this.

1.I would like to use the wikipedia logo to place it on a website. For example I would like to place one on http://samihaddad.info to link it to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sami_ibrahim_haddad

2.I would like to know if I am authorized to do so.

3.If so which logo may i use?

Thank you for your help and attention.

No worries at all. I am glad to help out where I can. This user sounds alot like the problems I was having a couple weeks ago. I had a user making changes on the WJLA, WUSA-TV, WBZ-TV, Allbritton Communications pages, among others, and changing things like the owners and whatnot. Very small edits that people were quickly overlooking. I quickly reverted, but it continued on for a couple weeks under 2 or 3 Boston-area Verizon IP addresses. I haven't seen any activity on those IPs since, but it sounds like the guy your looking at (feels all "cop-ish" with that last line). If you want, I can give you those IP addresses so you can keep that info handy. Stay warm....SVRTVDude 01:11, 7 February 2007 (UTC)

Revert of an edit

Hi. You reverted an edit I made at http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Natalee_Holloway&diff=prev&oldid=107037102

The change I added in was just to include the title of the article. And given what the article was about, I thought it would be good to let readers be forewarned. Would you mind if I restored the link back? (Please reply on your own talk page instead of mine. My IP address changes pretty frequently, so I might not get the message)
