Speedy deletion nomination of The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP)[edit]

Hello DanielCro,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged The International Association of Parliamentarians for Peace (IAPP) for deletion, because it seems to be copied from another source, probably infringing copyright.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to rewrite it in your own words, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hi, thank you for your warning, I really appreciate it. I don't have much experience with Wikipedia and still learning. I was thinking that if I put content in Italic I can copy important content from other sites. I was wrong, sorry about that. I just deleted copyright content and will work more on this article. Edits[edit]

Hi, can you try to format like this with category, stub tag and reference section? It would be useful if you could add an infobox with coordinates on a pin map and some more details too. ♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:09, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, I don't have that much experience in creating new Wikipedia articles yet. Honestly, I don't know how to add an infobox with coordinates and a pin map. I will add the category as you showed me in your example. If you or anyone else can help me with the rest, I'd appreciate it. I don't have that much time to study it all, and I want to put all the villages in the municipality of Žumberak on Wikipedia, little by little DanielCro (talk) 18:24, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong here, I added Category:Populated places in Zagreb County as you shown me in your example but I don't see new category in my article Donji Oštrc - Wikipedia. What happened? DanielCro (talk) 18:42, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please do not publish the article then. You are better off learning the essentials rather than publishing an incomplete article. ImperialMajority (talk) 21:03, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
After further review of Daniel's activity, they seem to be publishing multiple poorly written articles. ImperialMajority (talk) 21:15, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
As you can see here: Žumberak, Croatia - Wikipedia
I am trying to find information for the remaining villages in the municipality of Žumberak. These are small villages with about 20 inhabitants for which almost no information exists. Look at the articles about other villages in the municipality of Žumberak that have been processed by other editors on Wikipedia, almost no article is bigger than mine, not because we are all bad editors but because there is very little content available on the Internet. Should all these articles be simply deleted or, in accordance with the assumption of good faith, to help me and other authors on Wikipedia, add as much useful information as possible for visitors.
Isn't that the ultimate goal of working on Wikipedia. I asked for help and I thank Dr. Blofeld and all other well-intentioned Wikipedia editors for their help.
A lot of people have moved out of these villages in the last 100 years and for their descendants this may be the only chance to find any information about the places of their ancestors. Can we all put some effort into this task? I copied exactly the formula for adding a new category to an article and added a section about references and I am ready to make new corrections, the only thing I expect is the support of other, respected Wikipedia editors and the assumption of good faith DanielCro (talk) 21:52, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia DanielCro (talk) 21:53, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great, I did it, I added a new category. I managed to add a category when I changed the editing mode, I don't know why, but it's important that it works now. I'm so happy now :) DanielCro (talk) 22:06, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ImperialMajority, thank you for helping me with
Gornji Oštrc DanielCro (talk) 22:08, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yesss! I learned from you how to add infobox, copied from you and just added to Donji Oštrc, thank you, you saved me :) DanielCro (talk) 22:15, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Congratulations! For the Gornji Oštrc article, I added an infobox but I think further information needs to be added. Maybe a paragraph on it's history as seen on the Croatian Wikipedia. ImperialMajority (talk) 01:03, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I would also update the image for Donji Oštrc or upload one on https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Main_Page if needed. ImperialMajority (talk) 01:04, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I've gone ahead and updated the image for you. ImperialMajority (talk) 01:25, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great, thank you very much ImperialMajority for your help and support. DanielCro (talk) 14:23, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your suggestion, will try to do in the coming days and weeks. DanielCro (talk) 14:24, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Vigilare moved to draftspace[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Vigilare. Unfortunately, it is not ready for publishing because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. Your article is now a draft where you can improve it undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Joy (talk) 01:29, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Joy, thank you for your reply and clarification, I am very grateful for that. I believe that Vigilare is a very significant organization in Croatia with a great influence on society, but I think that the Wikipedia article about them in Croatian is incomplete.
So I looked for the English version of the article and was surprised that no one had yet made a Wikipedia article about this controversial organization on the English Wikipedia.
Since I had a little time over the weekend, I decided to start and later refine and finish, so it probably would have been much better if I had chosen the draft version right away, sorry about that.
At first it seemed to me that I had chosen a good style and words, but now, when I read my words again after your explanation, I see that you are right and that I should use less statements from the media and more generally describe their actions and programs.
Thank you for your help and explanation on how to improve this article.
I will have some time next week, so I will work on this article until I find the right, encyclopedic and neutral presentation style.
Can I ask you to read this article again and tell me your opinion again after that and before sending this article for review?
Like anyone else, I don't want to lose my work after putting in the effort and time.
Thank you for your understanding and help.
Best Regards
DanielCro DanielCro (talk) 15:32, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I tried to fix my article according to your recommendations and advice, for which I am really grateful.
Can you take a look now and tell me what you think, is the article ready to pass the review and be published on Wikipedia or does it still need to be fixed? If so, can you tell me what specifically so I can continue working on the article? Thank you very much for your help and understanding. I really appreciate the help of older and more experienced Wikipedia community members like you DanielCro (talk) 14:18, 23 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Overlinking[edit]

Hi, thank you for your edits on Wikipedia so far. Could you take a moment to read the Manual of Style an inparticular the section on overlinking, regarding the number of wikilinks you are inserting. It’s not good practice to wikilink obvious words and phrases which are in common usage, and common geographical features such as countries and languages. The page becomes overlinked and difficult to see the actual words which may require further research. As an example on your edits on Vukovar you wouldn’t link ‘years’, everyone knows what a year is, likewise ‘symbol’, ‘calendar’, ‘border’, ‘vineyards’, ‘swamps’ etc. These are all terms which any reader of the page will understand. Wikilinks need to be used to explain technical terms and relevant connecting subjects. It would probably be wise to review links you have placed to date and remove the unnecessary ones, to save other editors time. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to reach out to me, or to the Teahouse. Mramoeba (talk) 18:32, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Having had a quick look at some of the other pages you’ve worked on I am going to suggest you refrain from adding any more internal links until you are a bit more familiar with Wikipedia. Mramoeba (talk) 18:52, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In any case, I think it's still better to add more Wikilinks that can be removed later in case of need than too few so visitors can't understand some terms or find additional information DanielCro (talk) 21:02, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll consider them and revisit some of my older articles and remove some unnecessary wikilinks when I find time DanielCro (talk) 21:00, 2 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Done for Vukovar :) DanielCro (talk) 12:11, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
