Synagogues[edit]

Hello! I am going to translate some stubs about destroyed synagogues of Poland from PL Wiki and I want to ask you if there is any naming convention for them. I mean there are several "New Synagogues" and "Great Synagogues" etc. For example how about Wrocław New Synagogue, should it be moved to "New Synagogue, Wrocław" or to "New Synagogue of Wrocław" ? I think it is very important to cover this field as there were more than 3 millions Jews in Poland before the WWII. He goes out of his way to be as rude as possible. Instead of simply pointing it out calmly, he has to cast it in the most cutting way possible. I hadn't heard about that either, and of course it's stupid to prod a userpage since anyone can remove it with the slighest of valid reasons. I'd like you to reconsider the deletion of John C. A. Bambenek. Since the review 9 months ago, he's been in the NYTimes, Wash. Post, been invited by the Dept. of Homeland Security to speak, and has become a syndicated columnist. In most cases, it seems that the user would be notable. Even User:Tony Sidaway (not exactly an inclusionist) had a problem with the deletion the last time. That aside, he's only become more notable since then.

RfA oppose votes[edit]

I'm sorry if you're offended. This is going to sound fairly embarrassing for myself, but I guess those definitions for 'spurious' you listed differ somewhat from those I had in my head. But anyway, that is not the point. We obviously differ greatly on what we consider to be useful criteria for assessing admin candidacies, and as I assume we both know, I tend to be a lot more 'liberal' in giving out support votes. (I personally consider it to be taking a more conservative stand on admin candidacies, considering the process's much more easy-going past) I'm sorry if I was offensive, and now seeing the dictionary definition of spurious laid out in front of me, I don't think my use of it was either appropriate or correct. It just happens to be one of those cases where I learned a word through context, rather than ever looking it up in a dictionary, and my personal (and in this case, erroneous) thoughts on its connotations differ from those in the dictionary sense. I will remove the word spurious from the RfA, although I still consider your opposition of the candidate to be too harsh. I don't see a redirect as elimination. People using it could then still keep on using it as they always have. My point really is that Wikipedia has way too many cleanup tags and cleanup cats, and as a result you cannot count on any of them getting the amount of attention it may need. Your Question of 1 November[edit]

Ok, so I'm slower than anticipated giving the final answer. Back on 1 November, you'd asked me if I'd be interested in an RfA nomination. (User Talk:GRBerry#Are you interested in...) I knew then that I wouldn't be ready to stand for one until after Thanksgiving. Here it is, 3 weeks after that, and I'm finally read to give you a final answer. My time for Wikipedia is limited. I wouldn't describe myself as being good at dispute resolution. My janitorial specialty is clearly deletion - I haven't actually done RC patrol or NP patrol for a couple months. So my use of the tools would be deletion related, probably mostly deletion review related. That said, if you wish to nominate me, I will accept and make the time to give questions at RfA the attention the community deserves. I also got input from Xoloz (User Talk:GRBerry#Flying colors! and GTBacchus (User Talk:GRBerry#RfA question). Beit Shalom[edit]

Say, could you give me an opinion on the validity of the article Beit Shalom? My gig is patrolling Category:Suspected hoax articles and snuffing out hoaxes, unfortunately everything I know about Judaism I learned from watching Seinfeld, the best I can determine is that there's a lot of synagogues named Beit Shalom, and there's a Beit Shalom organization that promotes "Messainic reformed Judaism" and has a lot of chapters in Spanish speaking countries. RFA, maybe in the future! Thanks for the compliment. Are you still in New Jersey? I have been to Moscow, and was going to to to St. Pete, but had to go to Budapest for work. Someone at Aeroflot slit open my luggage looking for valuables.

I got blocked twice, once for uploading images from the Meadows Foundation and marking them "cc-by-2.5" with the attribution as "Meadows Foundation". I had their permission from their monthly meeting. The second time was a conflict over changing truncated names to full names. Its seems that for a short period it was moving the articles even if a the full name was already a redirect. Normally you cant move an article if a redirect already exists.

I am a major collaborator on the Bronx High School of Science article, and was just making sure our alumni that exist in wikipedia all have Bronx Science credits.
