Congratulations[edit]

I, Willscrlt, hereby award Creationlaw The Exceptional Newcomer Award for notable work on Layered drinks and other articles. 07:55, 27 January 2007 (UTC) (KC)[reply]

Either you have done a lot of editing as an anonymous user before editing under your account, or you are an amazing newbie. :-) The work you have done (not just on the Layered Drinks article) has all been good, but the Layered Drinks article was so good I was frustrated that in all my work on the Mixed Drinks WikiProject that I had not come across that article yet and added it to the Project. In other words, it looked so good, that I was sure it had been around here for a long time, and undergone a lot of development. It certainly did not look like something a 6-day active new editor would normally create from scratch. Very nicely done. (P.S. I added a redirect from Layered Drinks to Layered drinks, and also from Layered Drink just for completeness.)

I did notice that Pousse Cafe has a few stylistic problems that should be fixed to match the other articles in the Project. But that's all minor stuff. On the whole, another great job. If you plan to edit any more mixed drink articles, it would be great if you added yourself to the list of Active Participants in our WikiProject. Your enthusiasm and editing skills would be very much appreciated. Have a great weekend! --Willscrlt (Talk·Cntrb) 07:55, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated your article for the Did you know? box on the Main Wikipedia page and announced that fact on the Mixed Drinks WikiProject main page. Yours is the first mixed drink-related article of which I am aware to be so nominated. :-) --Willscrlt (Talk·Cntrb) 11:56, 27 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Drinks[edit]

Hello again. I was just archiving my talk page, when I discovered your response to my compliments (above) listed at the top of my page where I never saw it until now (I tend to only look for new stuff added toward the bottom of the page). Anyway, you are welcome for the award. I was sorry to see that due to a backlog of other DYK articles yours was not selected. I still think it was a worthy article.

Since you seem to have some interest in mixed drinks and possibly bars and bartending, you might be interested in some Mixed Drinks WikiProject discussions that have just started. Philvarner and I have various thoughts on how to restructure the entire mixed drinks and bartending section of Wikipedia, and that also squarely ties in with WikiBooks. Some of these are pretty sweeping changes. I would really appreciate your input.

I realize that you may feel a bit intimidated or shy about diving into the middle of such important discussions. You might even feel that you are too new to make any decisions. Don't believe that for a moment. You have a brain (and a pretty good one based on your editing skills), and you have ideas, and you should have no fear expressing them among friends. And I, for one, am your friend there. So please speak up. Don't be shy.

Please visit the Restructure Section to read, discuss, and hopefully help plan these important changes.

Keep up the great work. You are an asset to the community. :-) --Willscrlt (Talk·Cntrb) 12:31, 11 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Puerto López (Ecuador)[edit]

Hi! I saw your name on the page for the Ecuadorean Wikiproject. I will be traveling to Ecuador in about two weeks to Puerto López county. I will be in Las Tunas and Puerto Rico mostly, but I will almost definitely be making day trips to Agua Blanca, Playa de los Frailes and Isla de la Plata. I have never been before, but I will be bringing my camera with me. If you have any specific requests for photos you would like taken, please let me know and I will do my very best to get them. I am happy to take photos of any of the villages I will be in, but also if there is specific wildlife you desperately want photos of that you think I will be able to find on Isla de la Plata or elsewhere, please do not hesitate to send me an existing photo or some information (so I know what to look for!) and I will try to get one! I'd appreciate it if you responded on my talk page. Thanks, and I hope I can help somehow! Goyston talk, contribs, play 00:55, 19 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Blood wedding.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Blood wedding.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 19:06, 16 May 2007 (UTC)

Commercial use of Image:Lizzie1.JPG[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:Lizzie1.JPG, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:Lizzie1.JPG is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:Lizzie1.JPG itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 20:59, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Lizzie1.JPG has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. ˉˉanetode╦╩ 12:00, 20 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ethnic bias?[edit]

Regarding Image:643px-Explanation_of_Evolution_v2.1.PNG - I had chosen to make them go to white because they were on a white background - earlier versions had the borders also fading so theyt blended in. Adam Cuerden talk 21:21, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Erinbrocovich.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Erinbrocovich.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. The Joker[edit]

Thank you for trying to add the new image of the Joker, but per fair use standards and talk page discussion, the image was determined not to be appropriate for the article at this point. The reason is that for a non-free image to be used, it must correspond with real-world context in the article. For example, the Batpod image corresponds with the paragraph about the Batpod's design. Right now, though, there is not really any context about the look of the Joker, so until some can be provided by reliable sources such as why the filmmakers chose the "cut smile" and other details, the image shouldn't be included just yet. Hope you understand! If you want, I can link you to the relevant discussion on the talk page. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 21:17, 6 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Doctor Dolittle's Caravan.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Doctor Dolittle's Caravan.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 13:06, 26 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Ecuador[edit]

Hi Creationlaw. You listed yourself at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Ecuador#Participants and I thought that you might be interested in recent developments at WikiProject Ecuador. The WikiProject Ecuador banner recently was updated with a number of new parameters and most of the Ecuador article talk pages have been tagged with the banner. AfD nomination of Mystique Magazine[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Mystique Magazine. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mystique Magazine. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:16, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Peppermint frappe movie poster.jpg[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Peppermint frappe movie poster.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Skier Dude (talk) 03:09, 3 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Blush (Swiss band) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the importance of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 18:58, 26 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Ariel Schulman has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Notification of automated file description generation[edit]

Your upload of File:Browncanyonquilotoa.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! • Another one of your uploads, File:Chillingwithpigs.jpg, has also had some information automatically added. If you get a moment, please review the bot's contributions there as well. Thanks! Message delivered by Theo's Little Bot (opt-out) 14:32, 26 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
