Copyedit request

Hello, there. I am contacting you because you are listed on the Wikipedia:Peer review/volunteers page. I have entered Highlander: The Series (season 2) at peer review (article page) and was wondering if you would be interested at copyediting it before I list it at FLC. Have a nice day, Rosenknospe (talk) 13:54, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

No problem. I have another copyedit request that I'm still trying to sort out, but I can do both . Done! Happy Thanksgiving, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 14:59, 27 November 2008 (UTC).
The article looks really nice, actually. I made a small edit or two here and there, but the rest of it is enthralling. I would reccomend, however, that you find a way to format the image so that it doesn't run off the page so much— it throws of the layout of the whole page, on my browser at least. I tried to make it into a thumbnail image, but it's too small that way. Other than that, good luck, and I'll be around to help when the PR comments come in. Happy Thanksgiving! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 15:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Hihi, thank you very much for the compliments :D I have no clue as to why the Wide image template doesn't work, it works fine with Firefox and IE7. I know it doesn't work with IE6 though, are you using this one ? I have modified the layout anyway, do you care to see if it looks better now ? As for the infobox, everyone else use piped links, so I'll just go with the flock and bring them back. Thank you very much for taking the time anyway. Happy Thanksgiving, Rosenknospe (talk) 16:25, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
Okay, no problem. After all, it's pretty much your decision on this. (And yes, I use Explorer 6 which isn't very reliable all the time. If it looks fine on your browser it's OK.) Cheers! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:21, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Not gonna be on for awhile

Hey I am just here to Inform you about the following things:

1.Happy Thanksgiving

2.I am not gonna be here for awhile.

Anyways I am not gonna be here for awhile because I found a site (that I like alot) and I am spending most of my time on that site. Just thought you should know. Well happy Thanksgiving. (BUSY PLAYING AHRIMAN'S PROPHECY, AVEYOND AND AVEYOND 2) < is that even a reason? Well for a kid it is! Hahahahahahahahahah! Reliable Forevertalk 16:57, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Well, have fun whatever you do! Happy Thanksgiving (again). :-) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:26, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey, Mizu onna sango;

Thanks for looking over the article and for preparing it so for GA. I really appreciate your help. Happy Thanksgiving to you too.

Thanks, and note

Hi Mizu onna sango15, thanks for your semi-protection of Lady GaGa: it was becoming heavily vandalized. Also, congratulations on your RfA: I saw it and meant to support, but didn't get around to doing it. Consider this a late support from me. Best wishes. Acalamari 18:21, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks Acalamari; it's greatly appreciated. :-) Now off to watch NBC: The Parade is on! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 18:27, 27 November 2008 (UTC)
You're welcome! Acalamari 21:17, 27 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi, I just requested this is unprotected on the prptection page, before reading I should have asked you first. So, as I've stated there...I'm not clear why this was protected in the first place as the requestor themself was reverting additions of citations, which resulted in the person they were at 'war' with getting banned (fair enough for apparent uncivil responses, although in my view they both violated the 3 reversion rule anyway). Main concern here is that protection requestor also put the page up for deletion, which quite handily prevents anyone from improving the article or adding the citations (particularly as lack of citations was one of the nomination reasons!). In my view both protagonists should have been warned/banned and the rest of us allowed to get on with it. If it's not already been unprotected by the time you read this, maybe you could consider it (and also consider the actions of both parties, rather than just the one). Thanks WikiGull (talk) 15:06, 28 November 2008 (UTC)

The main question here is, if I unprotect it, will it be subject to more edit warring, either between you and Message From Xenu or some other parties? Since not everyone who should have been was banned, is another war still imminent? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 19:12, 28 November 2008 (UTC).
Well, given that I've never been in edit war, no I won't do that, though unless Xenu is banned for a bit, I can't guarantee that anyone else won't. Did you see how the edit-war actually happened? One person tries to add citations, the other deletes them, the first one tries again, so the other afd's it. Hardly a good use of anyone's time that, and while I disapprove of personal insults etc, I also disapprove of editors reverting decent edits and even going to the extent of putting it up for deletion just because of a dislike of the other editor. Fairly childish and I would personally have banned them both till they'd cooled down. I'm not that bothered if you won't unprotect it - I'm just back after a fairly long absence from wikipedia, which began due to such nonsense in the first place. My interest is only in improving articles. Your call, and no hard feelings either way. Regards. WikiGull (talk) 19:59, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
I think you need to cool down and assume good faith. Message from XENUcomplaints? leave me a message! 17:06, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Well, bans and blocks are not to be given to cool anyone down, but given the situation and the fact that that article's full protection prevents good contributors from editing, I will lift it. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:02, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
There is still a lot of IP 3RR-ing, so I changed the protection so it is still locked, but only semi-protected. This should reduce the warring that's currently going on. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 20:07, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
OK, fair enough, I think you've done the right thing now. Shame such idiosy on the part of the warrers is causing the problem when it seems so simple to fix.WikiGull (talk) 21:52, 28 November 2008 (UTC)
No problem. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 02:59, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
I see I'm mentioned here, so I thought I'd give my piece. The edits were reverted by this editor for two reasons, first being he was reported at WP:AIV and the second, the user had a Conflict of Intrest. Feel free to discuss any further issues here (I'll be watching it) or ideas of blocking me or my idiocy on my talk page. Thanks! Message from XENUcomplaints? leave me a message! 13:48, 29 November 2008 (UTC)
Also, if you want an explanation of my AfD, the article at that time had no citations or references and looked hardly notable. The anonymous user was removing the AfD notices and leaving unnecessary comments on my talk page (and another editor's talk page). Message from XENUcomplaints? leave me a message! 13:53, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

WT:RFA thread

You might want to take a look at this thread WT:RFA#RfA Barnstars. Nsk92 (talk) 06:19, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. As I didn't make the barnstar or the thankspam, though, I think it would be more prudent to pass this on to L'Aquatique. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:34, 30 November 2008 (UTC).
Actually, I think they probably were talking about you. Your RfA thankyou messages, like this one[1], do sort of look as barnstars and have subtitles "The Mizu onna sango15 Barnstar" in them. Since Balloonman mentioned "two recent" RfAs, I kind of assumed that one of the RfAs he meant was yours. But maybe I am wrong... Nsk92 (talk) 03:47, 30 November 2008 (UTC)
Oh, I probably wasn't too clear on that one. What I meant was that although I acknowledge it was more than likely my request they were talking about, L'Aquatique made the barnstar, so I thought I would inform her about it. I think I should have payed more attention to the current consensus about barnstars in RfA, though—the fault definitely is mine here. Sorry about the vagueness! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:51, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Administrator Tools.

How does one get "Administrator Tools"? I know you become an administrator by Rfa but then how do you get the tools? Do you have to download something or does another administrator have to give you it? And by the way what tools do admins have? Reliable Forevertalk 18:35, 29 November 2008 (UTC)

When your RfA ends, a Bureaucrat (which is one level higher than Administrator) comes and gives you the tools. Admins themselves do not have the powers to make others administrators, so no we can't. You don't have to download anything—most of the time you won't even notice until the 'crats come to your userpage with the good news. Admins have a lot of tools: they're all listed at WP:ADMIN/TOOLS. Did that help? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 03:46, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Userboxes...

I was looking at the history of your userpage and saw some things and userboxes you put on but then why did you delete some of that and never put it back on? (I am still being angry because I didn't choose ForeverReliable as my username ....) Still trying to persuade my mom into getting me a violin....

Off the topic... When I first created my account I accidentaly pressed the edit button (to edit a page) but then I didn't vandalise it cause I knew there was something strange about that edit button. I was on the computer looking up something on Wikipedia in computer class and my friend was looking at me and she said "What the heck is that?" That is what she said. So I just said it's Wikipedia. She went on it too with the computer (when our teacher wasn't looking) and she pressed the edit button and said What the heck is this? and she began typing in stupid things. I NEVER logged in on the school computer. Then she said okay what's this insert thing and looked and said Okay never mind no Insert and she submitted it. (bad Reliableforever for showing her the site, bad) she continued to that then when she realized what she wrote was gone. She said Where did it go? Then I said I think you wrote over it or something? I was on the page that she was on and she was on the page that she was on (lol) and I accidently pressed 'history' and I said What? Some number, wrote exactly what you wrote It turns out that was the school's IP ADDRESS but I called it a number!(that's why it looks like I linked to number but I actually linked to IP address HA! I TRICKED YOU) Anyways, I clicked on the IP address and saw just a list of things done by "the number which turned out to be HER!" It turned out they were contributions. Well anyways, It turned out it was a shared IP address but I didn't know that so I said "What the heck? Who would write something like that??!!!" She just glanced at me as though I had lost my mind. I said "Wait a minute YOU wrote that!" (still looking at contributions) She then took the computer that I was using's mouse then scrolled down then highlited "Some IP addresses change periodically" or something like that and I just said "Oh. Well sorry then." (I should of known that she didn't write that but I didn't trust her that well at the time) and then she was blocked. She said Why can't I edit? . And that was the story when I first learned about vandals (lol). Oh and don't worry you won't be hearing from her cause she was blocked 2 times but one day the teacher saw her messing with it and everytime she tries to edit Wikipedia she sees ACCESS DENIED . Sorry for the incredibly long off topic story. Hopefully you will forgive me for that XD. (oh and by the way 'XD' is a smiley if you cannot see that.) Reliable Forevertalk 21:41, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Hey, I'm not so old I don't know what emoticons are, RF. ;-) See! There's one right now! <-- But your saying that really made me think... Maybe 25 is the new 60! Especially with these nearly Great-Depression prices. :-)
What a packed story, though. And you know, a great majority of Wikipedia editors had an experience like that at one point in their newbie editing (albeit probably not in the school computer lab)! As you have a good block record there is no reason for anyone to distrust you, and your editing habits aren't bad either. Hilarious story, though! Cheers and Happy Holidays! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 06:30, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

74.92.251.34

Hey Mizu (Do you mind if I call you Mizu?) I was reading Wikipedia as a ghost (ip address, not a real ghost, lol) and I saw this odd vandalism from him/her [2] and I was sitting there like "That's not correct. Maybe I should tell the other editors that that's not correct?" At first I thought it was a mistake from the editors until I found out that 74.92.251.34 did it. So then I logged in and reverted it (I don't like editing as a ghost, :D ) I gave him/her a warning [3] on there page. But made the December 2008 section cause obviously his last warnings were from April 2008. Will you please check the links and please watch that IP address? Reliable Forevertalk 21:18, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

No problem. At the rate they're going at, it's likely they will be blocked before the month's over. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 02:50, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Probably is a kid maybe older than me, There are some elementary school children that put obscenities on Wikipedia articles. You know what's weird? A person on a site's signature was "Those who fight to run away live to fight another day". So what happens to the people that don't fight to run away? Reliable Forevertalk 12:33, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
Quite philosophical. It all depends on how you see it. I'm surprised that you at your age are thinking so poetically! :-) Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:29, 17 December 2008 (UTC).

Desktops

What is your desktop picture? (Mine is Sailor Mars off of Sailor Moon . I customized it so that the pictures in the center, not tiled and I selected red to be around the picture of her. Looks really cool, wish I could show you!) Reliable Forevertalk 21:20, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, actually (just for future reference), you can! It's called making a screenshot. First, close all your internet or program windows, then press the key that has "Prt Scr/SysRq" on it. It's really hard to find, but believe me—it's on there. It should the top key directly to the right of F12, and should be next to the scroll lock key and above the insert key. Once you've pressed it, nothing will happen. Just open Paint and select Edit -> Paste. You should see a copy of your entire desktop, including the picture.
As far as uploading it to Wikipedia or the Commons, that's a different story, and there are likely copyright restrictions on adding a picture of a character that isn't yours, so I don't think you can actually show me in this case. Have fun with the art of taking screenshots, however! I use a plaid background for my desktop, because adding pictures from the internet slows my machine down, especially since I run Vista on my laptop. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:19, 7 December 2008 (UTC).

No subject

I once sent a PM to my friend with an animated smiley using a hammer to smash a computer. I did it 33 times. So my friend said "You ruined all those computers! Poor computers" then after that she did a crying smiley. Anyways on that site, there are forums and on them theres this forum it's called "ban game" and you come up with a funny reason to ban the person above you (however nothing offensive, vulgar, spam... etc [they make it appropriate for kids under the age of 13 {ie. me} ] ). It's really funny! It goes like this:

Person 1: I have no one to ban

Person 2: Banned for having no one to ban

Person 1:Banned for banning me cause I had no one to ban

Person 3: Banned for continuing to use that thought.

It's really funny though but not worth winning! (oh and sorry for leaving you so much messages, it's because my fave site is down. ) Reliable Forevertalk 21:30, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Lol, sounds fun! By the way, I really don't mind the messages. I'd much rather get a million from you than none at all. My page is already pretty lonely. :-(

Confession

... I once ruined a site... I first checked the site than quickly went back to Wikipedia... Then I said I will ruin it in anyway I can!!!!! Now that wasn't the smartest move. I couldn't control myself (Okay maybe I could have controlled myself, BUT MAYBE I DIDN'T WANT TOO at that time.) . I went to the site, and I then ruined it by posting rude stuff to everybody on the site {NOT EVERYBODY} (remembering that you should NEVER talk to adults that way, but I decided that they CAN'T talk to me that way, either.) So anyways, blah blah blah on and on and on blah blah They tricked me blah blah I tricked them back finally I was banned and everybody that was helping me (1 PERSON!!!!) was also banned. I am going onto a different computer to continue (just kidding I probably won't ever be near that site again any time soon. ) If you play Role-Playing Games it's kinda like this. You are the only one. Realizing that you can't do it alone, you invite someone into your party. Realizing you have 1000 enemies (Yep. That's right. 1000. How can you win against that much people?) you think it's not worth but you decide anyways that your already there you cannot give up NOW you either win or lose. 1000 vs. 2. (not fair!! If I would of known I would of called my friends. 4+2=6. I would of had six! ) . So we both were defeated. Game Over. Anyways, I am NEVER going to do that again (Or am I? just kidding). Well anyways I shouldn't be the only one who feels shameful about that. Everybody else should too. Reliable Forevertalk 15:09, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

(Wags finger) Careful, RF, for things like that can have serious repercussions! If your parent found out, you could even lose your computer privileges! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:36, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

Emulator Problem

Hey. I downloaded some games and one of the recommended emulators. Here is the problems I have with the emulators. 1. The first game that I wanted worked, but the introduction was long and what they were talking about made no sense (This one was in English, but what they were talking about made no sense) And so on the first try, the incredibly long introduction was missing parts on the second time it literally paused at a part of the introduction and finally (It was originally a nintendo game in a difficult language to understand) got it. But the problem is I have to press on my keys really hard to get it to work. Then I can't get the characters to move. I asked one of my friends who was familiar with the game and she said she just pressed the arrow keys. That doesn't work.

2.Another game was supposed to be totally translated into English, but it wasn't. And it's not like it is French or something that is an easy language. This game is easy to control, but I can't understand it so it's worthless.

If you don't know anything about emulators, do you know a Wikipedian that could maybe help me with the emulator? Reliable Forevertalk 15:51, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

In my experience emulators need quite a bit of tweaking to get them to work, and that on a per-game basis. You'd be best off asking on the website where you got the emulator - there's most likely a forum or some sort of web-community related to it. EyeSerenetalk 09:18, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
I think EyeSerene said it best. Situations like these can be annoying, though. As I don't possess a great deal of computer knowledge it'd be best to ask my talk page stalker (that's you, ES! :-)) and not me. Cheers, —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 17:27, 17 December 2008 (UTC).

Middle East campaign

Hi there, you recently closed an AFD for Middle East campaign. I was wondering whether you'd be willing to reconsider the result please.

You closed as a "no consensus". There were only 2 "keepers" and they based their argument on notability, however the nominator stated that the reason for deletion was not notability, but that this was essentially duplicated material.

If it is not possible to gain a consensus, would you consider "relisting", this would also be an added benefit to me as I'd like to change my !vote to "redirect".

Thanks for taking the time to read this, cheers :) Ryan4314 (talk) 00:17, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Well (especially since you wanted to change your !vote), I think that's legitimate. You will often see me close an AfD as 'no consensus' if the tally is about even on all sides; there wasn't much of a difference between the keeps, deletes, and the merges, so there was little, if any, consensus (even if the keeps were for different reasons than the listed reason). To make room for some consensus, I'll relist. Many thanks for your patience. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 00:52, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Joke

Yesterday I thought I was going to trick my friend online by typing in a different language by using character map. She replied saying "What does that say? If this is a joke I'll laugh" and I go "? It says 'hello'!" I Tricked her and it worked! Then I said "lol you don't even know what language it's in!" (And actually it's easy to tell when its in that language!) and she said "Well too bad about my poor translating skills" and I am still laughing while all this is going on! I was laughing the whole time! Reliable Forevertalk 13:21, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Haha. Oh, by the way, do you have any more questions about editing and such? I was wondering for a while but never got the chance to ask. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 01:58, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, how do you write something in bold, italics and underline it at the same time? Reliable Forevertalk 15:20, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
Like this? Use bold and italics as normal, then surround them with the HTML code for underline (<u> and </u>). So, you would type in <u>'''''asdfghjkl'''''</u> and replace "asdfghjkl" with whatever you wanted. The result is asdfhjkl.
Anything else? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:28, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Juan Joseph - I would hardly consider this debate no consensus. Neither of the two keep arguments were based at all in policy. --Smashvilletalk 02:15, 22 December 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for taking the time to talk to me about this; I would never had caught my error if you had not raised concern. I'm not sure what went wrong, but it was not my intention to close the AfD as 'no consensus'. This has been happening a lot recently, I've found, with the JS AfD closer tool. Mizu onna sango15, I have suggested a change to our article guidelines here. As an active contributor to the project, I value your comments. Thomprod (talk) 15:22, 27 December 2008 (UTC)

I would like to bring a user to your attention.

User:Rickkk has been blocked for having a similar username to User:RickK. Now there is a user User:Rickkk247 and he needs to have an indefinite block cause I think he may be a sockpuppet of User:Rickkk. But I also think that he should have an indefinite block because he might be impersonating User:RickK. Just thought I should bring this to your attention. Chances are he's already been blocked, thanks to special:log/newusers. I'll keep a close eye. Thanks! —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:33, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Mizu, He is not blocked. I checked my facts before submitting this message. He should be blocked for indefinite. Reliable Forevertalk 21:40, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
I know. I reported him at WP:UAA, it's all up to them, now. I meant that there is a good chance that by the time you are done submitting the message, he has been blocked already. Things happen quickly here. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:42, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Woah is it just me or has Rickkk's talk page and user page just been deleted? Reliable Forevertalk 21:44, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
It's just you. :-) —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 21:46, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
LOL I didn't see that. Also take a look at this user: [5] he has a definite violation of username, and claims to be an administrator, but isn't. On his talk page he has "hey unblock me" so other users will obviously think he's already blocked. He needs an indefinite block. Reliable Forevertalk 21:56, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Uh Mizu, you still on? The report thing wasn't working so maybe you could block him? Reliable Forevertalk 22:16, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
I think I'll just report him at UAA, to stay on the safe side. Thanks for being so helpful here. —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:18, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Ok Mizu. Click here to see what my favorite show was when I was really little Reliable Forevertalk 22:24, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Any other questions/problem users to report?
Oh, and Sailor Moon's been around for a while, I think almost ten years or so. How old were you when you started watching it? —Mizu onna sango15Hello! 22:27, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
Nope not really. As for the Sailor Moon thing, I watched it when I was 1. I watched it with my mom. I recently watched a couple of videos of Sailor Moon, but that's it. Reliable Forevertalk 22:31, 28 December 2008 (UTC)

(Outdent) Ah. Thanks for helping me out with the vandals, RF. —Mizu onna sango15Hello!
