Hi, I have been editing recently on Wikibooks, and found out about this project recently after some users mentioned it to me. Having looked at your user talk page on Wikibooks, it looks like you may be hitting IP blocks, but there should not be any problem editing while logged in to your account - in fact, you must have logged in successfully to have posted this unblock request. If you are getting block messages, please tell us the exact message you get - just saying "I am struggling to log on when I use this at school or on my Android app browser" does not give us sufficient information. As for the difference between creating an account at home or at school, that has already been explained to you on your Wikibooks talk page - account creation has been prohibited from your school's IP address range. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 00:59, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! Sorry, I didn't realise. I am actually logged in on the school machine at the moment so clearly it now works! I'm just wondering, a few questions which I hope you may answer! Can I 'contribute' the same way here as I do on Wikibooks and is there anyone who may keep a monitor on edits I am making to suggest they are right, wrong, what to improve etc...? --Computron (talk) 10:58, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, that's a slightly belated Welcome message there, containing lots of useful links. In answer to your question above, yes, you're welcome to start editing articles - correcting them, expanding them, even starting new ones. The links in the message above should give you some useful guidelines, especially those in the "Getting started" section.

One of the things that a lot of beginners trip over when they're just starting is the need for Reliable Sources - you can find details at WP:RS, but basically, anything added to Wikipedia should be referenced from a reliable source. You can find information on how to cite sources at WP:CITE.

There's a lot to look at there, and it can be quite daunting, but if you start by making small changes, look at the way existing articles are formatted etc and copy that, you should be fine. If you want any specific help, how to do something, or you just want someone to look over something you have done, please feel free to ask me on my Talk page. And if you just want to ask "How am I doing?" at any stage, just give me a shout too and I'll be happy to look over what you have done.
