June 2009[edit]

Please remember to mark your edits, such as your recent edits to Sussex Downs College, as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Sussex Downs College. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. Jeni (talk) 12:18, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Please stop

Please see suggested text to follow, this information stems from the newspaper articles and the college website, is it appropriate to update the entry?

The college achieved an overall A Level student pass rate of well over 97%, with around 74% achieving A-C grades in August 2009. The college had 3,000 A level entries this summer. It was reported that more than 50 students achieve three A grades or higher.

Can I ask Jenny why the other information regarding sixth form and other teaching arms of the College have been removed?

Because its advertising and blatent POV, not to mention half of it being copied and pasted from various sources. Remember this is an encyclopaedia, not a school prospectus. Jeni (talk) 12:47, 20 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
