Are there to many links for the page. If so I'm in the process of removing some of the less salient ones to the topic

Thanks for your help

Thanks

Thanks for deleting my page Blue Frog Records.Have a nice day..

Clubmarx,

I suppose you're right. It would be ridiculous for a new user to be credited with first writing a page which will, shortly, be seeing a lot of traffic from people interested in the service (which is going to likely revolutionize the way we understand what can be done with both Javascript and Typography on the internet.)

list of ABC shows

Somehow I doubt that anybody would ever type “list of ABC shows (disambiguation)” into the search box. (Furthermore, there exist other disambig. pages that do not contain the word “disambiguation” in their titles.) I propose to undo the move; see also WP:DAB#NAME. Thank you. Bwrs (talk) 01:36, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

I thought according to the style guide, (disambiguation) always needed to be in the page title. WP:DAB#NAME But I don't have a strong opinion about it. --Clubmarx (talk) 01:39, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
If I read correctly, that only applies “[i]f there is a primary topic.” Then again, WP:MOS is not the be-all and end-all of everything [after all, I never adhere to the rule about putting the dot outside the quote marks (except in computer-science related articles),] so it is no big deal... if, however, you agree with me, then maybe ask an admin. to move it back on Monday. Bwrs (talk) 01:44, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Clockwise (band)

Well, well. Just two minutes after I made this article, it's tagged for speedy deletion. You sure work fast, sir. Any tips on how I can stop the deletion? - Aphasia83 (talk) 02:27, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

There was no notability asserted in the article, thus it is a candidate for speedy deletion. See WP:NM for guidelines about notability. --Clubmarx (talk) 02:29, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
Well, to be honest, the only reason I created the article was because the band's lineup included two members from Europe (band). I don't know if that's notable enough for Wikipedia. The band has only released two albums and isn't active nowadays, so I guess the article could just be deleted. But if the band comes back and releases a new album, I'll try to bring the article back. - Aphasia83 (talk) 02:40, 26 October 2008 (UTC)
You might be able to add that info into one of the existing articles then. --Clubmarx (talk) 02:47, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Codys Network

OK, OK. I see my page Codys Network has been flagged, can i have a bit more time to fix this up. Thanks, Cody Cody.feilding.nz (talk) 06:44, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

I don't see how Codys Network could be notable, even with exhaustive details. See WP:N --Clubmarx (talk) 06:47, 26 October 2008 (UTC)

Can you check it again now, thanks.

Template:Welcome-auto

I see you've had some of the same problems with Template:Welcome-auto that I've had. I talked to Stifle, who created the template, and it seems that it needs to be substituted to get it to show up right. {{subst:welcome-auto|Page title}} is the correct format, changing "Page title" to the appropriate page title. Also looks like that template isn't going to work with Friendly. :( --Fabrictramp | talk to me 18:01, 28 October 2008 (UTC)

ah ha, I will try that in the future. Thanks for letting me know! Too bad it doesn't work with Friendly. --Clubmarx (talk) 03:35, 29 October 2008 (UTC)

Welded Sculpture

I don't understand your removal of the Catagory "visual art" from the article Welded Sculpture. If it isn't a "visual art", then what is it? Music? Welded sculpture is designed to be viewed. Cuprum17 (talk) 18:57, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Take a look at Category:Visual_arts, there are barely any articles in that large category. You should always try to use the most specific type of category. The 'Types of sculpture' category which is already there seems appropriate, and 'Types of sculpture' is a subcategory of visual arts. Generally, an article should not be in a very broad category if a subcategory is appropriate. --Clubmarx (talk) 21:16, 2 November 2008 (UTC)

Itchy trigger finger

Get real! Can't you see the "under construction" banner? Pdfpdf (talk) 05:03, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

An article about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant. This is distinct from questions of verifiability and reliability of sources, and is a lower standard than notability; to avoid speedy deletion an article does not have to prove that its subject is notable, just give a reasonable indication of why it might be notable. A7 applies only to articles about web content or articles on people and organizations themselves, not articles on their books, albums, software and so on. Other article types, including school articles, are not eligible for deletion by this criterion. If controversial, as with schools, list the article at articles for deletion instead.
The first line says:"Peter Antony Goodwin Fisher, FRCP (1950-), has been physician to the Queen since 2001.". csd A7 is NOT applicable. Pdfpdf (talk) 05:09, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
I must have researching something else with multiple tabs open and tagged the wrong one. Please assume good faith first. --Clubmarx (talk) 11:25, 9 November 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Carl schultz

A tag has been placed on Carl schultz requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. Melmann(talk) 18:06, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

I didn't create this article. I moved it for capitalization. However, the main article does assert notability, like the AFI awards, so see Carl Schultz if you like. thx. --Clubmarx (talk) 18:09, 22 November 2008 (UTC)
This was automatic notice by WP:TW. In any case, page has been changed to redirect so this notice doesn't apply anyway. I'll look into article page redirects to.--Melmann(talk) 18:13, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Cool story bro

A tag has been placed on Cool story bro requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. thank you

Thank you for patrolling Gissur Petersson. I know he is not very famous but hopefully I'll have time to improve this. I doubt it will be more than a stub. He does have reliable sources about him, primarly because he is a senior Icelandic government official. Chergles (talk) 20:28, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

I just moved the article to a more proper name, I didn't create the article. The creator Mlanzel seems to be creating a lot of pages with people names, even though they are schools.
I thought schools were automatically notable however, but I guess this just applies to high schools and above. (I don't like this rule.) --Clubmarx (talk) 04:35, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

DJ Hollygrove

I am trying to find out what needs to be done to make sure that the "DJ Hollygrove" page doesn't get deleted again!!! This DJ is featured on many sites that are well known website for indie music. He has been featured on Houston area hiphop show " Street Flava" as well as H.O.T. TV, KBXX 97.9 The Box(Houston), KPTY Party 93.3 (Houston) several times, which you would find out if you just google him!!! So can this page please corrected!?!?!?!—Preceding unsigned comment added by Screwedup4life84 (talkcontribs)

You can get a copy of the deleted article from an admin. See the deletion notice on your talk page. However, from what you just mentioned, this DJ doesn't seem notable still. See WP:MUSIC. --Clubmarx (talk) 04:46, 11 December 2008 (UTC)

Category structure

Hi, if you're going to create categories like Category:Mongolian sculptors and Category:Mongolian artists, then you might as well integrate them into the category tree of the country, or other people will have to clean up after you and finish your job. Btw.: Creating categories for just one entry is strongly discouraged, because it results in a frustrating experience for users of the encyclopedia. --Latebird (talk) 13:00, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Really? I was working in Category:Artists by nationality, so I am not sure what is wrong with Category:Mongolian artists. Maybe Category:Mongolian sculptors was iffy but I thought every country was created as long as there was an entry. I was doing my own cleanup of someone else's work. What other categories should be added to things like Category:Mongolian artists? Is there a guideline? --Clubmarx (talk) 14:37, 6 December 2008 (UTC)

Closing open ends often creates more open ends... Not sure if that is spelled out explititly anywhere, but it's just common sense that a cross-section category like Category:Mongolian artists should be rooted in Category:Mongolian people and Category:Mongolian culture. From a user's perspective, the "X by country" stuff is really secondary to that. --Latebird (talk) 01:47, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
I don't see how doing some work is bad. That is what wikipedia is all about - we keep making incremental improvements. --Clubmarx (talk) 04:26, 7 December 2008 (UTC)
There are different ways to approach any specific problem, some of which are more efficient than others. In an ideal world, the amount of improvement would stay within a reasonable relation to the amount of work created for other people. --Latebird (talk) 11:48, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

i'm a noob

Hi there, I recently created a wiki article that was speedily deleted. I totally understood that. My quesiton is that before it was deleted, I believe that it was first defaced with racial slurs, or at least passage written to insult, is it common for for fellow wiki editors to post such things? I do not have a record of who did had done the defacing posts. Let me know if this is common or not. thanks, peace! Linjye (talk) 10:09, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

I remember the original Wah Court article and it was written like an advertisement. I'm not sure I remember the other edits you refer to on that particular page. But there were a few people who were exceptionally rude that were vandalizing pages around that time. I think those people might have gotten a hold of your article by following what I was doing. I patrol new pages and there are sometimes young kids who think it is funny to be jerks. That is not the usual case. If you want to create another article, please do so! Just make sure it is notable and has sources. --Clubmarx (talk) 05:55, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

"English Photographers"

On this edit of yours: there's no such category. It's "English photographers" (small "p"). -- Hoary (talk) 22:52, 8 August 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. Obvious typo. I thought you'd have fixed it although I just saw you hadn't. Clubmarx (talk) 17:26, 9 August 2009 (UTC)

CSD tagging

I've reverted your addition of the G1 tag to Worlds best movie quotes. Although the article is not encyclopedic, and probably won't stay long, it was not "patent nonsense" as G1 would indicate. See WP:WIHSD#G1 or WP:NONSENSE. I've prodded the article. Thanks for doing New Page patrol, and happy editing. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 05:29, 18 August 2009 (UTC)

  • OK, but "Fill in gaps as best you can. No dramatic change to the list is wanted." sounds like this person is making a parlor game and wants ownership of the article. I don't see how this would ever improve into a real article. Clubmarx (talk) 06:30, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
I'm fairly sure the article will be deleted. However, tagging it as a G1 would be incorrect, as I said, it clearly wasn't patent nonsense. Lәo(βǃʘʘɱ) 06:42, 18 August 2009 (UTC)
