Excellent. Well maybe could you make song articles for "There You Are" and "Life #9"? I have made articles currently for "Whatever You Say, "Love's the Only House," and "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues." Dottiewest1fan (talk) 22:41, 17 June 2009 (UTC)

  • Was your revert of the albums table necessary? Take a look at Metallica#Discography. A similiar thing was done there, yet they still have a separate discography page. Ryanbstevens (talk) 03:18, 29 June 2009 (UTC)
  • Okay, fair enough. I'll accept that. Ryanbstevens (talk) 06:17, 29 June 2009 (UTC)

Sara's band

If you're going to add this info, could you please at least a.) source it b.) format it as a bulleted list, and c.) refer to her as Evans, not Sara? We're supposed to refer to people by their last names unless that would be ambiguous (for instance, in The Kentucky Headhunters I have to say Richard and Fred, since they're both surnamed Young). single change

Ugh, I'm so angry! I was so excited to hear "Thrillbilly" on the radio. To be honest, I hate "A Good Day". I have no idea why. Its definitely my least favorite song on the album...something about it doesn't feel right to me. He better make a video for it, then maybe I'll start to like it. The "Thrillbilly" video does suck, doesn't it? Haha! If it were up to me, I would have changed it to "I Could Be the One". Now thats a good song. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 03:40, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

I'm sure it will eventually become a video. I really hope it makes into the Top 40, at least. I was in shock when "Back to Tennessee" started to fall after #47. I even still hear it on the radio now, so how could it have fallen so fast? But whatever, I don't work for radio so I can't control the amount of radio play he gets. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:04, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I guess I can't complain about it, at least it did chart. It took like an extra month or so to chart, too. I remember having to change it on his discography...that was sad day for me. "Somebody Said a Prayer" I still think should have been a #1 hit on either the country chart or adult contemporary charts. Even in an interview, Billy Ray said that both he and Lyric Street thought there was no reason why it wasn't a #1 hit and why it couldn't have been the #1 single of the year. Ugh! EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:11, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Radio is retarded when it comes to his music. He does do a lot of radio interviews, though, so I don't know what the problem is there. Does the video get to you to? I remember the first time I watched it, I got all choked up the when the womans son kneeled down at the end bed...when I listen to music, I WATCH the video, I don't listen to it...I watch it. I'm gonna go watch right now, too. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:19, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
I don't remember if I've ever actually cried while watching it, just getting teary-eyed and choked up everything. The video takes the song to a whole new entire level. Lol, when you said BAM, I couldn't help but think of Emeril Lagasse. My favorite thing about country music, too, is the emotion you get from listening to a song or watching videos...thats why I wanna be a country singer in a few years! :) EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:27, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, really! I want get working on a demo in the near future. Possibly when I get out of high school in 2 years. Oh man, I love to sing! There's not a single day that goes by that you don't hear me singing. I wouldn't mind actually being like a country/pop/electro style artist...oh and not country pop, I mean like country music or pop music...can't get those confused! =D EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:35, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Lol thanks! I'll prolly need it if I ever do make it down to Nashville. Now why would you say that? Who know, you might even have a good voice, but you just don't know it...huh? Ever think of that? :) EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:42, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

lmao...thats not very nice! You should try out for AI anyway...how old are you? Oh my goodness, if/when I get famous, my first album will definitely have a duet with Billy Ray on it, don't you worry about that. =D My mom thinks I'm retarded for wanting to do this. I told her its either a math teacher or a singer...it ain't your decision mother! lol EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:50, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
No way! I'm 16, too! Small world, huh? Lol...who knows? Maybe even you might have a guest appearance on my alum, as well! I would absolutely love to work with Lady Gaga. That's a hot piece of tail right thurr :) EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 04:57, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Lol, I think we might be! My album would definitely be something out the ordinary thats for sure. I think I'd do a duet of "Poker Face" with Lady Gaga...but I know that would never happen. She prolly doesn't go for the 16 year old aspiring country singers...Haha! EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 05:06, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Okay, we are definitely twins! "Poker Face" is my ringtone, too! I changed it the other day from "Right Round". I didn't click on the link, but what is it? The9513 people piss me off..they're so rude. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 05:14, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah I'm sorry but I'm just getting annoyed by people who keep adding things that aren't so important. CD universe really doesn't matter nor does any countdown matter too much on an article. Knowing what's important and what's not important is crucial when writing content in an article, and adding such things about being ranked on a website's countdown is truthfully useless information. Websites all over the world put out lists like this everyday and listing all of these countdowns would be completely useless and unnecessary because there are just so many. It took me two days to work on that article, and it just go me annoyed that you added it, but I'm not angry at you anymore don't worry. I hope you understood my explanation and understand that it is useless. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 04:13, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Jo Dee Messina

She has recently stated on an interview that Curb has canceled the release of Unmistakable due to the poor success of all three singles ("Biker Chick," "I'm Done," "Shine") and she will ver shortly being re-entering the studio to record a new album for Curb with a new producer, Paul Worley. I really hope that soon she will release a new single and album because it has been nearly five years since the release of her last one, but I guess the world will have to wait and see whether Jo Dee Messina's next album will be a major comeback or another epic failure. I'm not sure, you're gonna have to research it because I do not remember, it was a long time ago I saw this. I would suggest searching through Google.com for the reference, but sorry I do not remember, but I'm pretty sure it will not be released after the failure of three singles to make an impact on radio. • The intro is supposed to summarize the entirety of the article; that is, it condenses all the main points of the article into a few sentences, and those points are then reiterated in subsections in the article itself. In other words, the ideal article structure is (broken down to its simplest form): "Subject A is X, Y and Z", with sections expanding on X, Y and Z. Oh my gosh! Your tellin' me! I've actually thought about asking that dude on Billboard myself, but never got around to do so. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 02:51, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

True. If friggin Billboard didn't change their website so effin much, we'd be able to actually look through the archive and see how many weeks it was on the chart. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 02:55, 11 August 2009 (UTC)
Time Flies was on for 7 weeks.[1] EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 02:59, 11 August 2009 (UTC)

Cowboy Casanova

Why did you remove the information on its leak to YouTube? That information was properly sourced and I see no reason to remove it. It's an interesting fact about the song, and I think the fact that Billboard wrote a whole article on its leak to YouTube indicates that it's not trivial. Dead Flowers - EP

Sugarland's Wal-Mart exclusive hit #1, and Caitlin & Will's EP charted, so I give those benefit of the doubt. Since he does like to promote himself, maybe he should just start his own label, like Tracy Lawrence and Toby Keith did. When Toby launched Show Dog, at the time, I thought Billy Ray could have a chance there, so who knows. I'm surprised "The Climb" didn't make the Top 20 on the country charts. Brother Clyde

Apparently there's going to be a new supergroup with Billy Ray, Phil Vassar, Jeffrey Steele and John Waite called Brother Clyde. I first heard about this a long time ago, but thought it was just a hoax, but Billy Ray said the other day on Twitter they just cut the first single from the new album Lately. EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 18:34, 19 September 2009 (UTC)

In this, Billy Ray is co-hosting the Today Show, and he talks about the new Christmas in Canaan movie and a new song he wrote called "We'll Get By Somehow" for the movie. And shockingly, he said he's finishing up on a new album that will be done by the end of the year! But he didn't say whether it was going to his album or Brother Clyde's album. Canadian charts

But how will someone else verify them? It's important that info be sourced, and we don't have a secondary source — and if something's unsourced, it should go, period. Your argument is basically WP:LOSE, which doesn't hold water. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 14:41, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

  • "Country chart positions are never sourced in articles, I don't see the point in starting now. We know it at the time, therefore the info never changes. Five years from now, Lady Antebellum will still have been at #1 this week in Canada." Yes, but we should be sourcing them. That's one reason why I plunked down $45 for a Whitburn book. The fact that other articles don't source the country peaks is immaterial; we should be sourcing them, bar none. You're still dodging the issue. The Truth (Trent Willmon song)

Page titles generally take the name of the first artist to record it; for instance, How Long (J. D. Souther song), even though only the Eagles' version was a single. This is ostensibly a way to prevent people from arguing that the article should take artist X's name because artist X had a bigger hit with it than artist Y did. • Also, there aren't as many CD single releases anymore; almost every single from the past 5 years has had a digital release. Just to be on the safe side, I would say put only "music download" in the format field unless you know that it also has a CD version (e.g. Big & Rich's "Wild West Show"). • Whitburn lists almost every single from the past 7 years as a digital single or album cut. Also, I've heard my local DJs say many times that they just downloaded the new single for airplay. Ready, Set, Don't Go

I saw the edits that you made on Ready, set, Don't Go and frankly they do not make sense at all. I've nominated over 10 articles for Ga and have seen millions of FA and GA articles like here, here, here, and here. That is definitely not the standard so please leave it alone. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 06:02, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

O.K. I see what your trying to say. I'll keep it like that until anyone in the GA review says otherwise. My points is that both apples and oranges are fruits... these are both song articles, but I'll keep it like that until someone says otherwise. -- Ipodnano05 (talk) 00:54, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

I have nothing bad to say about this. I'm just sayng that USA Today, his MySpace, and RCA Nashville have all issued statements about the single change or the release of his debut single, "My Best Days Are Ahead of Me". EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 23:44, 29 November 2009 (UTC)

Music download

The article is at Music download. Many pages use "digital download," but don't you think it makes more sense just to bypass the redirect entirely and not even pipe the link? There's really no need for [[music download|digital download]] since it's just an extraneous piping and wastes a few characters. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 05:07, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

  • Also, "Digital download" is a redirect to "digital distribution," so piping the link is very misleading — someone might expect the link to point to "digital distribution" and not the more accurate "music download." That's why I'm changing them to link to "music download." Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 20:08, 5 December 2009 (UTC)

Other appearances

I see your concern but that's not how they should be organized. Other appearances literally mean "other appearances," not additional appearances of the same song. This table specifically looks for previously unrecorded material by the artist, such as a new songs the artist performed on a soundtrack, another artist's album, or a tribute album. You cannot simply go by what you see on other country music articles because most of them were made prior to this realization. Have you ever seen the Diamond Rio discography? It's FA article and also a country music discography but it does not include any additional appearances of the same song in the table. I hope you can understand this. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 16:13, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Did you even look at the Diamond Rio discography or did you just go towards your own claims again? Look on Allmusic.com and see how many of those other stupid albums Diamond Rio's songs appeared on Link. Now if you actually look on their discography you will see that those albums do not appear on their table. That is why the article is an FA article instead of just nothing. I know you're proud that your artists can appear on so many budget compilations, but it doesn't give you to right to make a table fit your needs. This time actually look at the links I showed you instead of making assumptions. Dottiewest1fan (talk) 16:37, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Video chart positions in prose

I started a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Record charts#Video chart positions in prose to try and get some third party opinions about the content dispute we recently had at Kellie Pickler about video chart positions being used in the prose section of the article. Please join the discussion. Aspects (talk) 07:27, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Time to stop

The GAC countdown that you continually attempt to insert in Kellie Pickler is a single-network countdown chart. You know that those go against the guidelines in WP:Record charts, and by now you should be aware that that guideline applies to both prose and tables. Please do not insert it again.—Kww(talk) 22:01, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Wrong Baby Wrong Baby Wrong

The song is titled just "Wrong Baby Wrong" on the charts, and it's not an abbreviation. Precedent seems to be that the single name is used if a song gets renamed as a single release. Lyrics

Yes, other articles do cite the lyrics. That doesn't mean that they should. WP:LYRICS says we should not quote lyrics unless we're citing a fact pertaining to those lyrics. For instance, it's okay for the article on Zac Brown Band's "Toes" to say that "ass in the sand" was changed to "toes in the sand" on the chorus, because there is a secondary source that verifies both the lyrical change and the artist's reaction to the same. So basically, I think it should be presented in a more encyclopedic fashion or removed — and if kept, it definitely should be sourced in some way. There are ways to summarize a song's content without quoting it. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Many ottersOne batOne hammer) 19:37, 9 March 2010 (UTC)

You seem to be missing the first bullet point in that section which states "Most modern songwriters and poets have not released their works under an open content license and therefore their inclusion in Wikipedia violates their copyright. Copyright usually expires 70 years after the author's death (see below)." These lyrics are copyrighted and should not be used in articles or linked to an outside lyric site. Do you have anything to back up that having "just the chorus is fine"? Aspects (talk) 02:37, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
