Congratulations. Here are what pass for words of wisdom from the puppy:
  1. Remember you will always protect the wrong version.
  2. Remember you must always follow the rules, except for when you ignore them. You will always pick the wrong one to do. (See #5)
  3. Remember to assume good faith and not bite. Remember that when you are applying these principles most diligently, you are probably dealing with a troll.
  4. Use the block ability sparingly. Enjoy the insults you receive when you do block.
  5. Remember when you make these errors, someone will be more than happy to point them out to you in dazzling clarity and descriptive terminology.
  6. and finally, Remember to contact me if you ever need assistance, and I will do what I am able.

I just noticed that User:Vicissidude tried to report me for those edits to Offshoring. Obviously he is the same as User:24.17.42.210. I don't know why he is making a big deal about this. Thanks for noticing his "bad faith" report. Momusufan 23:06, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vandal[edit]

Hello mate - like your sig. Ha Ha ! Can you look at User:Testacate Massive and substantial vandalism to various music related pages. Looks like an IP (one which vandalised his page and was just blocked by you) might actually be the same person. In all the confusion I took Testacate to test 4 before I noticed the user was not active today. However vandal only and very offensive user page. Your thoughts ? Pedro |  Chat  10:30, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks my man. I was going to remove my warnings, but it looks like he went on a largely undetected rampage yesterday. Coupled with his user page an indef. block seems the only choice. Guess the buttons do come in handy then! One of these days I might ask for them too.... Pedro |  Chat  10:36, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bugging you again[edit]

Hiya, I'm not going to haunt you honest!!! If you have a moment could you look here and at the draft article on the users main page. They already had this deleted once and I advised a re-write. I think it stands no chance, as it is really a blatant advert, but if you have a moment to make a comment it would be appreciated. Pedro |  Chat  11:47, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It was a real juggle of WP:AGF, WP:BITE and a healthy dose of WP:SPAM. The editor has decided not to post it (or her boss has!) so it's all good. Pedro |  Chat  20:42, 20 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It would be a good idea, only problem is, it would encompass all the TV stations on Wikipedia. From what I have read and heard, the IP user in question made the same edits as User:BenH and he pretty much went to all TV stations. If it would be possible to semi-protect all of them, then great....but I don't know if one admin can do that (then again, I learn alot here). To me the edits aren't that bad, but since he does this on every single page and stubs each and every single one, I guess it peevs some, so I revert what I can. Thank you for your comments on my essay. I stand by my comments on protection, but having not been an administrator, it is difficult to understand how blocks are applied. I saw some accounts that were indef blocked immediately, and I assumed that they were the rule, not the exception. I plan to re-write the blocking part of the essay as a finish it.
However, I stand by what I said about protection. Yes, they can edit after 4 days with new account, but if we really are "the encyclopedia that anyone can edit" people would be able to edit "cheese" without waiting for 4 days.
Nonetheless, I appriciate all of your comments. I really mean that. Thanks again, and happy editing,

I am not quite sure, I even checked yesterday during 5 and 5:30 (I live in range of WHSV) and made sure the guy really was still there and he was and there was no mention of him leaving and said "I will see you on Monday"....so it looks like he is there to stay. Iowa Pre-Flight Seahawks football teams[edit]

You recently deleted the pages of the 1942, 1943, and 1944 Iowa Pre-Flight Seahawks football teams, citing the content and then reasoning that "Iowa13 was the only contributor." I was confused by this. Is that a valid reason for an immediate deletion? I have done a lot of research on said teams and have cited every source I have used. I saved the code and have since recreated the articles under the assumption that there has been a misunderstanding. I am fairly new to Wikipedia, but I have picked it up quickly and I have a spotless record. I am only wondering why my pages were deleted.

AfDs[edit]

Please remember to add new entries to the TOP of the day's page, not the bottom. thanks. DES (talk) 02:01, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Iowa Pre-Flight Seahawks football teams[edit]

Thanks for the explanation. Your reason is valid. My time has been limited recently, so I have not had time to expand the articles; however, I plan on doing so in the next few days. I will be adding much more information than that which is currently present. I would appreciate it if you would withdraw the deletion proposal for now and check the articles in several days' time: I can assure you that by then I will have added the additional information. Thanks!

Iowa Pre-Flight Seahawks football teams[edit]

I have also provided some temporary information on the talk pages of all three articles that will soon, along with much more information, be added to each article.

Deleted articles[edit]

I figured you had probably called it a night :-) This is the first time I've gone through this process, so I realize I've made a slight fool of myself in several ways. Sorry for that. Thanks for being patient.

More sockpuppetry?[edit]

I've noticed a user, Acookie, who I have evidence for being yet another sockpuppet of Freya_Worshiper. I don't suppose you have any advice on procedure for dealing with a suspected recurrence of sockpuppetry when the puppetmaster has already been blocked? Lucky number 49 15:53, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help! Edits by Acookie here, here (line 53), and here match with Freya_Worshiper's pattern of attacking Christian sources as being false/deliberately harmful, and making deliberate mention of whether a source is Christian (compre here and here. Also, note that their userpage and discussion page suggest previous problems with other editors on wikipedia, despite the account having begun editing only today. I note that the last edit by the sockpuppet account Myth_Researcher was made four hours before the first edit by Acookie, linked above. Lucky number 49 17:17, 1 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted articles[edit]

I actually did have them merged in the first place, but the length was an issue. I have a paragraph or so of information about each of the thirty-one games, which has not yet been added to each page (I plan on doing that either today or tomorrow). The length of the single article was much too long with this information. The vast majority of articles about individual teams (i.e. 2005 Texas Longhorns football team) include information about each game, often called "game notes" or "season". Once I've added the game information to each season page I could copy it into the main page, and we can decide if that would work, if you'd like.

Tomorrow, Monday (or today, depending on when you see this), I am out of town, so I will not be able to add game notes and postseason information to each article. Hopefully I will have this done later in the week. When that happens, I'll temporarily merge the articles and we can decide if that's the appropriate action to take. I'm leaving town next week, so I'm going to make sure we get it settled before then. Just a heads-up. Iowa13 BTW my user link is to my talk page, as I haven't set up my user page yet.

Ludovic Quistin[edit]

This one needs answers, I can't for the life of me figure out why the article on Ludovic Quistin who happens to be an international footballer with caps for his country has been deleted off, it annoys me like hell when things like this happen to peoples hard work and effort, whats the reason!!! Hi. I saw you were redirecting the user pages and user talks of Nate1481s impersonators to his pages. Is that really a good idea, doesn't that make matters more confused? Best wishes Pax:Vobiscum 10:18, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Consistant Vandalism

I think its high time we got Nate 1481 banned for his consistant vandalism of anything he does not like or agree with. Wikipedia is for everybody. Not just for lonely individuals who want to jeopardise the good work of others. And its time to look at Nate´s sockpuppets too. I think we have all ignored the elephant in the room for quite long enough-

Iowa Pre-Flight[edit]

I have an odd request.. First, I decided that the four articles could become one, if I removed some unnecessary information, and re-formatted it a little. However, I am going to be leaving town early on Saturday, and I am very busy until then. I'm gone for a week or so after that. I won't have enough time to get much work done on the article until then, so it will be another two weeks or so until I can actually make significant progress. I don't want to leave the article(s) out there with little to no information for that long. Would it be possible for me to just scrap the articles and start over when I get back? I don't know if it's acceptable to leave articles mostly unfinished for a period of time like that, maybe it is. But if not, would there be a good solution? All I could think of was starting from scratch (it's getting to be kind of a mess). I wouldn't mind doing that at all. What do you think? Iowa13

My recent RfB[edit]

Thank you so much for your participation in my recent RfB. Though it closed with 72% support (below the required 90%), I'm still quite pleased at the outpouring of support shown by a fair percentage of the community.

Hello. Just letting you know I'm reformatting some of your AfD closures (like this). The template {{afdt}} should really be at the top of the page. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 20:37, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What the hell?[edit]

This user: User:Lucky number 49 has been commiting Vandalism by deleting many informations from this article

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Freyja&diff=142019223&oldid=141790268

He has changed "Freyja"s back to Freya, and deleted a large part of what written in Prose Edda and its translation. And he was given medals??

What he deleted:

 + ::Gylfaginning, Eysteinn Björnsson's edition [1]

Freyja is most gently born (together with Frigg): she is wedded to the man named Ódr. Their daughter is Hnoss: she is so fair, that those things which are fair and precious are called hnossir. Ódr went away on long journeys, and Freyja weeps for him, and her tears are red gold. Freyja has many names, and this is the cause thereof: that she gave herself sundry names, when she went out among unknown peoples seeking Ódr: she is called Mardöll and Hörn, Gefn, Sýr. Freyja had the necklace Brísinga-men. She is also called Lady of the Vanir.

 + ::Gylfaginning, Brodeur's translation [2]

This user Lucky number 49 has been abusing his power and used it to delete correct information. He needs a warning.

Lolita Goth 09:31, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The information I deleted was placed by a user identified as a sockpuppet of a user who had committed numerous acts of vandalism. Whether the edits were correct or not, they were introduced by a user attempting to avoid a block (which is in violation of Wikipedia policy, as far as I am aware). Lucky number 49 15:24, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You seem to be helping this user Lucky number 49 to block and delete useful and accurate informations, without even looking at what they write and if they are correct or not. Is this how Wikipedia works? This seems to be more like a childish war than a page to give readers informations.

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Freyja&diff=142019223&oldid=141790268

This page has been reduced a good chunk of informations thanks to user Lucky number 49. He is just trying to delete any informations he does not like. This is really Vandalism.

WP Australia Template[edit]

Thanks for the updates for the Wikipedia:WikiProject Gold Coast, Queensland. I'd appreciate if you could change the links though for the project and categories, as the project is now includes , Queensland in the title (to match the existing categories).

All quality and importance categories have been added to include , Queensland as well.

Thanks once again, I appreciate your help.

July 2007 GAC backlog elimination drive[edit]

A new elimination drive of the backlog at Wikipedia:Good article candidates will take place from the month of July through August 12, 2007. There are currently about 130 articles that need to be reviewed right now. If you are interested in helping with the drive, then please visit Wikipedia:Good article candidates backlog elimination drive and record the articles that you have reviewed. Awards will be given based on the number of reviews completed. Since the potential amount of reviewers may significantly increase, please make sure to add :{{GAReview}} underneath the article you are reviewing to ensure that only one person is reviewing each article. Additionally, the GA criteria may have been modified since your last review, so look over the criteria again to help you to determine if a candidate is GA-worthy. If you have any questions about this drive or the review process, leave a message on the drive's talk page. Please help to eradicate the backlog to cut down on the waiting time for articles to be reviewed.

You have received this message either due to your membership with WikiProject: Good Articles and/or your inclusion on the Wikipedia:Good article candidates/List of reviewers. --Nehrams2020 03:51, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

SilverSpirit page[edit]

Hello there. I'm rather mortified that here, nobody saw fit to reply to my coments. That's not very community, is it? It does, in fact, smack rather of the unilateralism that somewhat dogs the moderation system of Wikipedia. Something which I find intriguing is that the AfD log seems to be a place where people go to pull an article to pieces. I don't see people vouching for articles which I'd say were perfectly legitimate and may just need a tidy-up. It's sad that instead of one person taking half an hour or so to add quality and value to an article, they go to the AfD section and spend less than a minute having a quick squizz on Google and writing out a one-liner about why it should go.

Hey ho, nature of the beast, n'est pas. LorD 09:28, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

More refreshing than thou![edit]

...and I'd like to thank you for your posting on my userpage. It was also refreshing for me to see a mod who wasn't all 'I have the power, mua-ha-ha-ha' and generally holier-than-thou in attitude, so that's also much appreciated. At least now I have a new goal; I used to want to get a track we'd produced released on iTunes - we did that. Then I wanted a track we'd produced released on CD - we did that as well. And now, I want to be ...oh yes... notable! LorD 12:58, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also along these same lines, I am very mcuh confused by the history of this AfD page. It seems as though at one point, you are deleting the article, and you have a well worded answer that I happen to agree with. Then the most recent revision is a "keep", with no explanation other than "closure correction". Is that a correct interpretation of what is happening? Yookaloco 17:48, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Pray tell, what was unproductive about changing the spelling of Prices to Prizes and changing stub to actor stub? 172.145.218.70 22:37, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS I would argue that not looking at the article to see what is said in the article, and comparing the changes made, before you accuse someone of vandalism is quite an underhanded thing to do. I expect an apology and/or explanation of why what I did was consider vandalism. 172.145.218.70 22:39, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did make a typo and if you noticed, I had two edits the last one was when I noticed I made a typo to the typo and changed it I had put the z in the wrong place. That is why I ask people to not be so quick to accuse people of vandalizing. If you had looked at the article instead of the edit history, you would have noticed that by the time you saw the article, I had already changed it to Prizes. But even still, even if I hadn't caught my mistake, accusing me of vandalism is a bit strong!

Misuse of AWB[edit]

It seems you used AWB on Cayley transform to change HTML character entities to UTF-8 in a mathematics article. The mathematics communtity has repeatedly and firmly decided this is a bad idea in our specialty. In fact, I thought AWB had been fixed not to do this, and language had been added warning against it.

I've undone the changes to this particular page; please undo any others you may have changed. This is the first I have seen this problem return in many months; please don't do this to any more mathematics articles, and please help spread the word.

Thanks for your help. --KSmrqT 18:48, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

PS: Here is a reference, for your convenience. (Happily, the nested superscripts bug it mentions has been fixed; since the fix applies retroactively, it makes that part of the discussion a little confusing!) --KSmrqT 19:05, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
PPS: Good news (I hope). Scanning your last series of AWB edits, the only mathematics ones I notice are weighted least squares, cofactor (linear algebra), dyadic product, coordinate system, principal components analysis, permutation, and the aforementioned Cayley transform. With the exception of the last two, these are all merely good disambiguations of "matrix". I'll fix permutation, since I see some other issues there anyway. Did I miss any? (You can reply here.) --KSmrqT 19:20, 20 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, thanks very much for noticing; as you rightly guessed, I have been disambiguating, rather than changing coding (which, frankly, I am generally stumped by). I apologise profusely for making the changes to the mathematical coding - I was unaware that this feature was still activated and will ensure that it is switched off in future edits. That, I think, is all of the maths edits; as I say, I'll pay more attention in future. Thanks once again. ck lostswordTC 00:16, 21 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the advice, but unless there is a way to do this confidentially, it's not worth it! THey are NOT going to leave me alone! Unless you have a confidential alternative, or at least one invisible to IPs, this user name is worthless to me now. I may come back, I may not. We'll see. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by BillCJ (talkcontribs) 01:10, August 22, 2007 (UTC).

I was about to remove that Disco guy myself but instead tried to leave a comment pointing out that he hasn't been given a final warning (which ended up in my 7th edit conflict on that page today :P) But anyways, would it be acceptable if I removed entires that I saw had not been given final warnings? -WarthogDemon 01:54, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
