Draft for tornado outbreak

Hello, i just wanted to say i'm creating a draft for today and tomorrow's possible tornado outbreak at Draft:Tornado outbreak of December 13–14, 2022. Just saying it here if you want to help. Poodle23 (talk) 17:13, 13 December 2022 (UTC)

@Poodle23: Thanks for letting me know, but I will warn you that we've had a problem recently with outbreak articles being made prematurely. Make sure the outbreak is noteworthy before starting an article, okay? ChessEric (talk · contribs) 21:28, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
K, got it. I'll delete the draft if the outbreak doesn't live up to expectations. Poodle23 (talk) 22:31, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
@Poodle23: It appears that this event will live up to being notable. Multiple tornadoes have been confirmed and the NWS Fort Worth is saying that as many 12 tornadoes may have occurred in there forecasting area (one of them has already been rated EF2). ChessEric (talk · contribs) 23:02, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
Jeez. Alright. Poodle23 (talk) 23:04, 13 December 2022 (UTC)
I created another draft here. See here for more details. Poodle23 (talk) 22:54, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
I created a new draft here. It will be deleted if the outbreak isn't notable enough, but for now we can work on it. Poodle23 (talk) 21:44, 2 January 2023 (UTC)

DAT

I'm a little confused about your confusion. The NWS provides damage summaries in their public information statements, which almost always parrot what's in DAT. In select cases, like particularly long/strong tornadoes, DAT has more detail that is useful. Otherwise, there's no reason to cite both PNS and DAT, especially since the PNS is much, much easier for the regular reader to click on and verify that the information is true. It's repetitive referencing. TropicalAnalystwx13 (talk · contributions) 22:19, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

@TropicalAnalystwx13: That is true, which is why I did a double take on my edit and reverted myself. I think it was more so me being tired of having to look for it every time I want to add new tornadoes in. XD ChessEric (talk · contribs) 22:29, 4 January 2023 (UTC)

Need help

An IP editor is making disrespectful edits to this article. I'll probably need some help, so if you could do something about it, that would be great. (I'm only extended confirmed) Poodle23 (talk) 15:46, 5 January 2023 (UTC)

I don't see much there though. It seems like they've backed off for now, but I will monitor them. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 16:58, 6 January 2023 (UTC)
Alright, thanks. Poodle23 (talk) 19:21, 6 January 2023 (UTC)

"Hypocrite" reason

You told me NOT to add that tornado, and yet you proceeded to add 2 tornadoes with an unknown rating just because their tracks were on the DAT. Poodle23 (talk) 20:25, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

Ummmmmmm...I've done that before bro. I was actually adding the third right as you reverted me. I see no problem with that. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 20:26, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Still sounds suspicious to me. Poodle23 (talk) 20:28, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
How? ChessEric (talk · contribs) 20:32, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Since y'all are discussing it, I'm just going to inject myself onto this talk page to ask that we try to calm down with the edit summaries. The sarcasm, calling people king, calling people hypocrites thing isn't helpful. There's enough tension in this project without adding to it. wxtrackercody (talk · contributions) 20:52, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Thank you. My edits are never out of spite; I make them for a reason. I'm not going to criticize you because I have gotten annoyed with others in the past, but I would ask you to calm down because I never intended to make you upset. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 21:05, 13 January 2023 (UTC)
Also, don't add random notes on a page. That's not appropriate. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 21:28, 13 January 2023 (UTC)

A Barnstar For You

The Third Opinion Award The Third Opinion Award
I greatly appreciate you being a third opinion in a disagreement on Tornado outbreak of January 12, 2023. — Elijahandskip (talk) 07:00, 15 January 2023 (UTC)
P.S. I wanted to let you know that I fully agree on not going about the rest of the year in debates and arguments. I really wanted to go this year without any, so I’m sort of doing a “redo” of the year, asking for forgiveness to those I need to and moving on. Hopefully, we can still work together this year to improve a ton of different articles, and hopefully (fingers crossed), no more debates this entire year. Have a wonderful day! How could you access even Wikipedia during the outage?

A few minutes ago there was an outage of Wikipedia, and for whatever the reason, you can still load the page. What has happened? CactiStaccingCrane 18:53, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

I have no idea. The histories of pages still showed up for me as it was still in my cache. As far as the pages loading, it required me to refresh the page several times before "catching" the server just long enough to load the page; it went out again once I left it. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 18:55, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
Reading the error, would it be a MediaWiki internal error? Even the Main Page was out as a result of this. Tails Wx 19:01, 17 January 2023 (UTC)
Maybe. I have little knowledge about how coding works, so I'm not the person to ask. XD ChessEric (talk · contribs) 19:02, 17 January 2023 (UTC)

Oi

I need you to go here so you can share your opinion on which colors should be used. Personally, I support Proposal 9, but if you support it as well I'll need you to come and vote quick. It's fine with me if you choose Proposal 2 or Proposal 3. Poodle23 (talk) 00:15, 31 January 2023 (UTC)

I, unfortunately, do not have time to look over the proposals. Plus, I'm not really interested in the "color" debate, so I couldn't contribute much anyway. ChessEric (talk · contribs) 00:24, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
Alright. Fair enough. Poodle23 (talk) 00:50, 31 January 2023 (UTC)
