Bass! How low can you go?[edit]

I'm still trying to replace all the fansite links with references to the original print sources. Which meant I spent the extra hour I got back from daylight saving reading reprints of Smiths articles. Once that's done I'll let you have at it. Maybe have that Outriggr guy give it a copyedit. WesleyDodds 22:23, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also: the soundclip needs to be shortened slightly (fair use 10 percent blah-blah blah), and, as far as I can tell, increased in volume slightly. Can you do that? WesleyDodds 11:12, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Lookie here. Looks like we will live to see a new album. WesleyDodds 01:36, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This week's question to ponder: what is your favorite live album? I was thinking about this earlier today while listening to the quite excellent From Here to Eternity: Live. WesleyDodds 03:49, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of Mark E. Smith, look what I found on the NME website today. There's ten YouTube links for ya, good sir. WesleyDodds 08:23, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I downloaded In Rainbows last night even though I don't listen to Radiohead, but, hey, free album. I had a simiar reaction. WesleyDodds 08:44, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Here's something that's been bothering me: Post-industrial (music). Who the hell divided industrial music that way? I tried to redirect it once, but another editor was insisting that the distinction exists. Although personally I've never heard of such a distinction, and it doesn't seem to be accepted or common at all. WesleyDodds 08:51, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think what they really need is a producer who won't let them fuck around or pat each other on the back. Or Bill Berry. WesleyDodds 08:52, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I have watched the video on your userpage. Quite interesting. WesleyDodds 11:23, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Got quite sick yesterday from dinner on Friday, in case you were wondering about the relative lack of discussion on your talk page. WesleyDodds 22:51, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Admin?[edit]

Hi there, SandyGeorgia recommended you as somebody who might make a good admin. If you would be interested in being nominated, please drop me a note on my talk page. Tim Vickers 04:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK, no problem. Let me know if you change your mind. Tim Vickers 16:34, 8 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aghina National School[edit]

Why did you delete it from the Macroom page? It is a school in Macroom. It was as neutrally written as possible. Can it be put back in as it is relevant to the article?

If not .... why not?

RE: MBV's 4th album[edit]

That's the spirit! But wouldn't it be their third? --Brandt Luke Zorn 23:59, 9 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Let's just kick back and enjoy the view. WesleyDodds 00:07, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Sweet. Ceoil 00:09, 10 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you[edit]

I'm alive[edit]

Just so you know . . . WesleyDodds 03:05, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Phew. I wasn't looking forward to flying over to LA, with a black bin liner and some jif. Ceoil 03:07, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I love how to you California = LA. I guess it's similar how to me Ireland = lots of pubs. WesleyDodds 03:16, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ye are all yanks to me tbh. ;-) Ceoil 03:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You're unusually active. What gives? WesleyDodds 09:08, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What will you do if it's Second Coming Pt. 2? WesleyDodds 09:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Right now I'm watching this Creation documentary Alan McGee posted on his MySpace [1]. Kevin Shields looks exactly the same, with a dash of Lennon. WesleyDodds 09:28, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Some bedtime reading: [2] WesleyDodds 09:44, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
"You Trip Me Up" is a good three-minute pop song. WesleyDodds 10:17, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I always link nationalities and countries. You're the one who delinks. WesleyDodds 10:25, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Only if you plan on changing into the shirt as well. The neighbors would start talking. WesleyDodds 10:33, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, does your book list any sales figures for Loveless? The best Brandt Luke Zorn and I came up with was the Rolling Stone "500 Greatest Albums of All Time" entry, which doesn't clarify if it's US or total world sales. WesleyDodds 10:43, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My iPod switched from R.E.M. to Green Day right now. Also, I've been busy copying this to my computer. WesleyDodds 10:46, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fill out the Recording section as much as possible, and then I'll get back to it. As I mentioned before, Shields complains in the 33 1/3 book that Magpie is "80% lies" so of course he has his own version of how things went. Cite what you can and then I'll add Shields' statements to balance out the accounts. WesleyDodds 10:53, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Alan McGee being a bit of a wanker about MBV: [3] WesleyDodds 10:56, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Quote from the 33 1/3 book: "The early records [. . .] are pretty awful, however. To me, this is a big deal, and I tried to think of another band that went from sucking so incredibly hard to being so flat-out great, and I couldn't come up with one." WesleyDodds 11:50, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Also: in the book Shields quite emphatically insists that he only ever had at most 14 chinchillas. Not, 20, only 14. Anyway, I'm off for the night. "Gardening at Night" is playing. There's an eerie melody in the background that totally makes the song. WesleyDodds 12:00, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Run it by Brandt Luke Zorn, see what he thinks. WesleyDodds 12:01, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

post to ceoil's awesome talk page[edit]

[me too-ed.] Here I thought maybe you wrote the Lester Bangs essay posted in your secret location, which I just read in full now. While it did age you, I was wondering why you were writing "facts" on wikipedia with a voice like that. –Outriggr § 03:05, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Great. So you know now I'm not some aging 1970s dinasour long hair throw back. Thanks. I'm watching the work at Ulysses bty, and its very impressive, though it's all very much out of my league. Ceoil 03:10, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Or you could accept the backhanded compliment! Your age projections are all over the map, so to speak, as it should be for such a diverse Renaissance type. (after edit conflict...) Glad you like it. I will ask you to renominate it if you would be so kind when it has the seal of approval. –Outriggr § 03:15, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Complements are thin on the ground at the moment, Outriggr, so I'll take them from which ever direction they come. Ceoil 03:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
True. Well, there's more where that came from if ya ever need 'em. –Outriggr § 03:26, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Imagism[edit]

I guess we can take this up on the article's talk page - I think that Pound is a key figure, and he coined the term, but I haven't the sources at hand to make any sort of case one way or the other ... maybe a cover of the first anthology would be even better. Stumps 12:30, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thespis music[edit]

Well, not much survives, obviously. Might be able to get someone to record "Little maid of Arcadee", though. I'll talk to Ssilvers. Adam Cuerden talk 17:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: post script[edit]

Sure, go for it. --Brandt Luke Zorn 18:30, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thespis midi[edit]

. How's that? Adam Cuerden talk 22:11, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on getting a sung version, but Mr. Microphone and Mr. Soundcard will not play nice, so I've had to beg Ssilvers' help. Adam Cuerden talk 22:34, 13 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you are listed as Wikipedia:One featured article per quarter for this article, so thought you'd like to know I've GA reviewed it and placed it on hold. Cheers! Wassupwestcoast 04:32, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've got this. WesleyDodds 06:26, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Was failed at GAC, and I expressed my concerns about the review on the reviewer's talk page. I was going to further contest it, then it occured to me that since we've worked on so many GA's, FA's, and FARs, I'm just going to skip the bother and do a quick Peer Review to iron out the kinks, then take it to FAC when it's ready. If that's all right with you, old man. WesleyDodds 04:54, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
