European Parliament election, 2014[edit]
Hello Captain, thanks for contributing to ongoing updates of this page. I see that you added the 2013 apportionment of seats between 2009 and 2014 counts. I assume that you wanted the seat differences in this table to match the seat differences in the large results table. However I think the intent of the apportionment table was to show the changes in seats since the last election in 2009. Otherwise we might as well add the changes that occurred in 2011, but that's fully covered in the main article about the apportionment. May I suggest to revert this change and keep the table simple? — JFG talk 02:09, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

French numerals[edit]
- OK. I think the first thing I have to do is to apologise for many things. But even if l'Académie Française recommend to use "onze cents", etc. it is not the option that we use commonly. When we talk about any number, we use "mille cent" or "mille deux cents"... more than the other, for counting distances, number of pages, number of people, and quite everything in fact. Of course, the way by hundreds is also used but mostly in dates. The only problem is that I don't really know how to prove it. I just try to help to improve the articles about French because it is my mother tongue and that I know how we talk. Come in France and you'll see I'm right. The decisions of L'Académie Française aren't always respected. (I'm going to make another change, but about the plural mark of vingt and cent, and with a proof this time.)Yoyo360 (talk) 18:11, 31 May 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Yoyo :) I think that you should ideally copy your message here: Talk:French_language#Thousands_between_1000_and_2000 ;) I'll answer you there and other peoples may contribute and help us to find sources (even if I have the impression that few people look at the talk page). We may perhaps found frequencies of use in books. What I read in the French Academy page is that this is not a recommendation but an observation of use. They say Cependant, dans l’usage courant, on dit plutôt onze cents, douze cents, etc. : onze cents francs, seize cents euros, the sole recommendation is to favour the other way in written language: tandis que dans la langue écrite, et notamment dans un texte juridique, administratif ou scientifique, on préférera les formes : mille cent, mille deux cents, etc.. Before you've put your source, yesterday, my thought was that it was a recommendation, but it seem it isn't the case. As I've said in the talk page, I suppose it may be a generational/social/educational difference of use [I presume generational].
