commercial links[edit]

It is bad enough wikipedia users constantly steals my content, but what really pisses me off when they use one of the dozens of rules as excuses to delete my links even when they are obvious source of the info, so please explain this edit you made few months ago [1] where do you see commercial links???? setimes.com is article in Serbian and info about military before 1918 was ripped off from my website [2] and if you are annoyed by Adsense on my website feel free to send me your credit card details so I can charge my hosting bill to it and no PayPal is not available in my country. >:-( --Ivan Bajlo 11:11, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Dear Ivan, we all make mistakes. But instead of complaining that I removed some "external links" with commercial material (Google ads and Amazon.com ads etc...), you should souce your articles properly, and that is preferably not done with "external links". This is, of course, most important when you feel that your "external links" are the obvious source of a particular article. I trust that you know how to souce articles properly. regards, ---Camptown 10:00, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I know very well how to source article [3] but I didn't write this article and person who did used my website as source for wiki article (as is the case with numerous other wikipedia articles), problem is if I go around restoring or placing the source - my website - sooner or later somebody will run off screaming to admins reporting me for WP:COI and then admin will again delete my website, the source, and we are again back to square one - wikipedia article with sources and me mad because my content is used by wikipeida without credit. :-(
As if it isn't bad enough persons scream that my website has excessive advertising and I got way too many links in wikipedia while at the same time globalsecurity.org has several thousands links and more and bigger ads then my website and I think in a few places it is listed as source there too! :-) --Ivan Bajlo 15:32, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tag? Something like these Category:Attribution_templates? Could be a good idea, which I again can't implement without risking someone attacking for breaking WP:COI, I'm guessing should really work to get really friendly with few admins and Jimbo :-). One problem is that my website content isn't GNU free, at lest not yet since something has to pay for hosting, books and bookcases at lest until I find a way to get donations running or I win jackpot on state lottery :-). So I'm afraid people might see this as permit to openly copy/paste content from my website to wikipedia, there are already dozen stubs based solely on my website (which itself is one huge stub constantly updated) and wiki articles will remain stubs since my website is the only available source on-line! Not many people have access to books from former Yugoslavia and know Serbo-Croatian, end result is Wikipedia killing me in search engine results with its stubs. :-/ (ok, I'm not alone in this there are probably thousands of websites which get pushed out by wiki stubs) --Ivan Bajlo 12:34, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Minor edits[edit]

Please remember to mark your edits, as you did to May 8 as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' Thank you. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 21:34, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you are marking all of your edits as minor. Please review Wikipedia:Minor edit and note that the distinction between major and minor edits is significant because editors may choose to ignore minor edits when reviewing recent changes; logged-in users might even set their preferences to not display them. -- Mufka (user) (talk) (contribs) 15:01, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
