Why on earth did you add Hurricane Bob when it wasn't even qualified for DYK?

Nah, I'm just kidding around. I removed Hurricane Bob after a user informed me that the article was already significant (it was around 7KB, definitely not a stub) nearly a month ago, and the significant expansion this week would not qualify it for DYK. In the future, please look at the article history to make sure a user did not mistakenly nominate an ineligible item for DYK. Nishkid64 19:29, 29 January 2007 (UTC)

No, I did read that. That would qualify as an expansion/rewrite, as the article already existed before January 23. It was pretty long even then, and that means it does not qualify for DYK. DYK updates - expired noms

Please do not take expired nominations (January 29) and add to the Next updates. DYK rules require that the articles be no more than 5 days old. Many articles did not get featured from Jan 28 and Jan 29 due to the long list and infrequent updating. — ERcheck (talk) 21:43, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

Unfortunately, I do not have time to revert the changes. I was about to do an update when you started making a lot of changes. Now, RL intervenes and I can't do it. I would ask that you honor the process and return the expired nominations and chose from the unexpired nominations. The "short" articles that I added were from Jan 30 and I was attempting to make a more frequent update so more articles would not expire. I would hope you would return the ones that I added in Good Faith, for example the Sego lily, with picture, which I had just protected for updating. — ERcheck (talk) 22:07, 4 February 2007 (UTC)

BTW, you returned the Yipsi Moreno article to the Suggestions page (March 7) on the grounds that it needed to be reviewed. I did review it, and returned it to the next update in place of newer articles. After checking the preview, the DYK column was too long, so I returned two to the top fothe March 8 section.

Teresa Cheung

I've reverted the changes you made to the Teresa Cheung article again. I thought I'd covered it in my edit summary, but perhaps not. In any case:

• The flag — Although I certainly follow your logic on this, I've also never seen an outdated flag used in this way in an infobox before. When I looked into it, I saw there was no requirement for a flag in the actor infobox, and on the talk page there was some agreement that flags should not be used in this way. So I removed the flag altogether because either way it probably shouldn't be there.
• Citations — The first citation was for the exact date of birth. Normally I wouldn't bother, but I could only find it on that one site and it also seems to contradict the date of birth on the Chinese Wiki article, so I felt it necessary. The second citation was specifically regarding the two children from her marriage, which is not mentioned elsewhere in the article. The marriage itself is adequately covered by other sources.

We can certainly discuss this further if you like, but I'd rather not keep changing the article back and forth. PC78 12:42, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

Recently you left a note on my talk page saying that there is a DYK rule stating that a dispute concerning a suggestion extends that entry's "life span" by another five days. I assumed that was correct, of course, even though I've never seen this rule. However, ALoan soon commented that he also knew nothing of it. So I'm asking you: where exactly is this rule written?

Ah, now I'm worried! I read The Four Stages of Cruelty when it was on the front page and thought it was really exceptional and truly fabulous - I don't reckon Batu Lintang camp is anywhere near that state of fabulosity! Besides, you say they had a team - there's just me and my reference books and lovely Grant65. Apart from a couple more images to upload, I kind of think I've stuck all that seems pertinent in already - does that mean improvement would be a matter of detail rather than new content? I'm a little worried that the amount of detail on the radio overbalances it - I had thought of hoicking that bit out as a separate article. I'm also very concerned about POV - as I explained to Grant, my grandparents were in the camp so it's hard to remain objective. That really worries me, as I want the article to be balanced, but to be honest there hasn't been much in any of my references that makes the Japanese come out looking good. Presumably I'd need to put the article through peer review and then GA candicacy first, before going for FA? Sorry about all the idiotic questions. Jasper33 22:05, 22 March 2007 (UTC)

LOL yeah I know what you mean about the essay style - split into n number of sections and loads of quotes. It's because I'm not very good at/don't feel qualified to draw conclusions from the evidence, so I prefer to slap in loads of quotes and let the reader draw their own conclusions. Lazy Jasper! And as for sensitive issues - I suppose all the counter-arguments are going to be in Japanese sources and I have zero chance of reading those.
