You've deleted circumcision fetish.

I pretty much ended the debate by finding a source that suffices WP:RS, the lack of which was the reason for the AFD vote. You have nevertheless deleted the article. I request you to undo the delete and restore the article. Dabljuh 12:58, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I've put up a review, feel free to vote (in favor of undeleting it, I hope) Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Circumcision_fetish Dabljuh 15:45, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Islam[edit]

There were two references added to "terrorism" which I was trying to remove, and I apparently crossed paths with another person trying to revert one but not the other. You have my most sincere apologies for this error. Kuru 16:23, 14 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Latin Rap[edit]

Thank you for your contributions to wikipedia, its good to see users stand up to vandals. Keep up the good work.

I find this offensive, as I'm not a vandal. Go through my edit history, youll see that I've done a lot more good than mistakes. This is part of why I wasn't wanting to assume good faith, because you made no real effort to explain why the link should stay, and called me a vandal.--Urthogie 00:15, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

adminship[edit]

as someone who has made sure I follow the rules(and enforced them against me) I was wondering what you would think if I ran for adminship. I was considering requesting adminship, but wanted to see what my harshest critics think I could do better before doing that. Thank you, --Urthogie 00:14, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your opinion, and i'll take that into consideration. wikistress can get to me, especially when i feel isolated against everyone's viewpoint. i'll keep that in check. thanks, --Urthogie 13:30, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Request for your opinion as an Admin[edit]

Hi ulayiti,

I got myself into a brouhaha at this discussion page. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Budapest (Please delete Holocaust promotion from Budapest page)

I feel that my request was reasonable but it resulted in threats of banning. (see my talk page) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Bloblaw

I'd like your opinion - regards Bloblaw 04:59, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for you comments, I too have some - some things that I have learned.

1) A very curious part of all this is that I wasn't editing the article to say that it didn't happen; I just want references to it removed as being irrelevant on this page.

2) When someone accuses me of being a Holocaust denier that's ok but the shit-will-hit-the-fan and I will be threatened with banishment if I in return call him a Zionist.

3) It is acceptable to assert that the Holocaust happened because it is support by the mainstream media.

4) It is unacceptable to question the Holocaust because it is not supported by the mainstream media.

5) In many countries it is illegal to publicly question the Holocaust under penalty of imprisonment.

6) North American media is corrupted with special interest ownership and has lost its credibility with much of the public.

7) On the subject of historical accuracy, Wikipedia will only give respect to those that espouse the interpretation of mainstream media. - Catch 22!

8) Contempt, belittlement, ganging and threats of banishment are the weapons of Wikpedia.

9) Wikipedia NPOV is a great concept but is ineffectual to override any administrative systemic bias.

10) As a newbie, it didn't take me long to discover that the corruption of our media extends to within Wikipedia.

11) I have learned here that Zionist is a pejorative and that Holocaust denial is not.

12) I have learned that - here, truth is not a defense. -- Bloblaw 10:45, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Look, we're here to write an encyclopaedia, not to 'question authority'. The point of Wikipedia is to report things, not to try and change the way they are. The fact that the Holocaust did indeed take place is accepted by practically all serious historians, the media (not just North American, which I agree is massively biased), the people... pretty much everyone. You can't expect Wikipedia to suddenly take the opposite stance and claim that it didn't happen. We're here to write about the world as it is, not to try and change that."

"'Holocaust denial' is not pejorative at all in my opinion, since when it's used to describe someone who is actually denying the Holocaust it's basically just stating a fact. On the other hand, calling people Zionist and 'not intellectual' simply because they believe the Holocaust did happen is a personal attack and not wanted on Wikipedia. - ulayiti (talk) 11:05, 15 January 2006 (UTC)"

So you then are of the opinion that Zionist is a bad word and is a personal attack. Hmmmm - Is Zionism a bad word too?--Bloblaw 11:25, 15 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

possible Template:Support recreation[edit]

Ulayiti, unless I'm wrong, has Template:Support been recreated again as Template:Su? I've already listed it for deletion. I also don't think it's the only one that's been recreated. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 00:25, 16 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Turku, again[edit]

I object to your removal of categories from Turku. Articles with their own categories should generally not only be included in their own category but also in at least one more general category (in this case Category:Cities and towns in Finland. Otherwise searching for them in the category system is more difficult. JIP | Talk 13:53, 17 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

On Islamist terrorism[edit]

I know we've had conflict over this, but I need you to give your two cents on renaming the article. As an objective administrator you should be able to add to this discussion.--Urthogie 11:28, 18 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Revert of my edit[edit]

Your revert of my edit can make the number of registered users easy to read too much into. There are now hundreds of registered users that have been blocked and I don't see how that is interesting in terms of being appropriate for that article. Georgia guy 01:19, 19 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

An Esperanzial note[edit]

As I remember, the last spam that was handed out was on the 20th of December last year, so I think it's time for another update. First and foremost, the new Advisory Council and Administrator General have been elected. They consist of myself as Admin General and FireFox, Titoxd, Flcelloguy and Karmafist as the Advisory Council. We as a group met formally for the first time on the 31st of Decembe. The minutes of this meeting can be found at WP:ESP/ACM. The next one is planned for tonight (Sunday 29 January) at 20:30 UTC and the agenda can be found at WP:ESP/ACM2.

In other news, Karmafist has set up a discussion about a new personal attack policy, which it can be found here. Other new pages include an introductory page on what to do when you sign up, So you've joined Esperanza... and a welcome template: {{EA-welcome}} (courtesy of Bratsche). Some of our old hands may like to make sure they do everything on the list as well ;) Additionally, the userpage award program proposal has become official is operational: see Wikipedia:Esperanza/User Page Award to nominate a userpage or volunteer as a judge. Also see the proposed programs page for many new proposals and old ones that need more discussion ;)

Other than that, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and wish you an Esperanzially good new WikiYear :D Thank you! --Celestianpower háblame 16:57, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Pandurang Shastri Athavale[edit]

I would stop editing the garbage in the article if you would stop writing biased, personal accounts on someone or something about which you have no clue. The man never called himself a guru, therefore, it is out of line to repeatedly re-inserting that one line back into the text. Wikipedia is supposed to be an ENCYCLOPEDIA!! This means that the information is supposed to be 100% accurate. Just because you are an editor/administrator, does not mean you can spread incorrect information because you think it is correct. Obviously, you have not done the proper research into the topic/subject as suggested before. PLEASE refer to www.swadhyay.org or www.dadaji.net before you do anything else. It only makes sense to know about someone/something before deciding what is correct or incorrect.

Thanks, vbdarsh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Vbdarsh (talkcontribs) 02:07, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I do not claim to 'know' anything about the subject, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to revert unsuitable edits such as POV pushing, vandalism and unexplained removal of information. You don't 'own' articles on Wikipedia, everyone is allowed to edit them. I reverted your edit because it consisted of removing the words 'was an Indian guru and social reformer' without any explanation at all. I think that bit of text was useful in giving the article a context, and if you objected to the use of the word 'guru' you could just have removed that word (and used an edit summary to explain why).
Please have a look at Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers for some more information on the inner workings of the project if you're interested in becoming a contributor. - ulayiti (talk) 16:21, 31 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can I contact you?[edit]

Heh, if you remember me, I'm the silly resident of Varissuo who was shocked to learn that a Wikipedia admin lives 10 meters away in the nearby apartment complex from me! Then you went to UK, if I remember correct :). Nothing special, but just for the interest, can you add me to MSN/IRC out etc.? Sorry, I didn't really know a more proper way to contact you since the user page doesn't display any contact address! And yes! I want to be your friend, too! :p--84.249.252.211 15:16, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tower Bridge photograph[edit]

A view of the Tower Bridge from The Queen's Walk.

I have removed this photograph from the Tower Bridge article (and placed it in the gallery) because it is too obviously tilted. Acceptable if we don't have anything else, but we got lots. If you could correct this and reload it, then it should go back in because it is a great photograph of the bridge otherwise. --Surgeonsmate 23:41, 6 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Another Esperanzial note...[edit]

Hi again Esperanzians! Well, since our last frolic in the realms of news, the Advisory Council has met twice more (see WP:ESP/ACM2 and WP:ESP/ACM3). As a result, the charter has been ammended twice (see here for details) and all of the shortcuts have been standardised (see the summary for more details). Also of note is the Valentines ball that will take place in the Esperanza IRC channel on the 14th of February (tomorrow). It will start at 6pm UTC and go on until everyone's had enough! I hope to see you all there! Also, the spamlist has been dissolved - all Esperanzians will now recieve this update "newsletter".

The other major notice I need to tell you about is the upcoming Esperanza Advisory Council Elections. These will take place from 12:00 UTC on February 20th to 11:59 UTC on February 27th. The official handing-over will take place the following day. Candidates are able to volunteer any time before the 20th, so long as they are already listed on the members list. Anyone currently listed on the memberlist can vote. In a change since last time, if you have already been a member of the leadership, you may run again. Due to the neutrality precident, I will not vote for anyone.

Yours, as ever, Esperanzially,

IB category[edit]

I took the freedom of editing your user page to include the category [[Category:International baccalaureate wikipedians|yourname]] as I noticed you linked to it on your user page. I hope you don't mind :) Obli (Talk) 20:51, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Delete[edit]

How can I delete Afnan? I tried tagging it twice with {{Delete}} and mentioned it on the talk page. Should I use {{afd}} instead? I thought the reasoning was pretty obvious, it's not an encyclopedic entry, it's only a definition. Cuñado - Talk 23:25, 16 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I didn't really understand how it worked. Cuñado - Talk 02:15, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please give me some pointers so I can improve this article to Featured Article status. Thanks! :-) CrypticBacon 00:18, 17 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi, could I contact you to talk about the IB logo displayed here? I have some copyright concerns about the use of this trademark. Thanks. --Simu 17:08, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Redirecting[edit]

Hi ulaiyiti..how r u..can u plz tell me how to create a redirect.I have created artciles on Cusco(band) but some how i dont know how to make the right link of cusco..the one which would refer to the band and not to city....check cusco (band)

new/last RfA[edit]

Hi Ulayiti!

First and foremost, I must express my thanks for your support during my first RfA. Due to a highly disturbing surge in opposing votes after the submission closed, it has been resubmitted. Unfortunately, it looks as though are large number of opposing voters have appeared and I would be extremely surprised if my new RfA passed... which is fairly disheartening considering that I was around 1 hour from succeeding last time!

In any case - it has been an interesting experience - one thing I can take from it is that someone with a clear thought process should learn to control the focus of their views. As I am wholly unable to pretend I do not have a clear POV, I doubt I will apply for adminship again. It seems fairly clear from this second submission that I am better off sticking to what I do best! Especially considering that I am "not yet a wikipedian"!

Anyway, many warm thanks for your support, and don't hesitate to give me a shout if you ever need my assistance for anything in particular.

Regards, DJR (Talk) 19:45, 23 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rules for deletion...[edit]

Deleting "Course of Action" was a fairly mindless thing to do. I assume that you do not understand the effect of what you did, regardless of whether or not it was "standard operating procedure". I also assume that you really don't care.

Well, it was nice for a while--contributing to Wikipedia: it seemed to have merit when I started. Now I'm not sure if you can do what you just did (deletion, not edit). If you do care, please look again at what you deleted. Cask05 21:24, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Help with account deletion....[edit]

Could you direct me to how I can delete my own user account? Cask05 21:32, 27 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. It was something that inspired me for a while. Goodbye. Cask05 22:42, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi Ulayiti, I noticed you voted on this AfD. Someone has vandalized this discussion page (actually two different user names). Can you take a look at it? Thanks, Accurizer 01:24, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Defenders_of_the_Hate[edit]

[1] Why was this kept when there obviously wasent anywhere near a consensus. 2 Merges 1 Deletion and 3 Keeps? It should be reopened or I will ask for deletion again Mike Beckham 10:27, 28 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]
