Hey Lauren, this is Lisa Shealb (talk) 21:38, 24 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again Lauren! I've looked at your article for an overall copy-edit. I found one spelling msitake and some minor grammatical mistake. Good job so far!Shealb (talk) 20:03, 16 March 2011 (UTC)shealb[reply]

mentor[edit]

Hi! The person who asked to be your mentor, AndrewN, looks like he's not going to be active this term. I'm happy to be your mentor instead, though. Just let me know if that's okay with you; otherwise, you should request someone else from the mentors list. Cheers! --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 15:28, 28 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, happy to do it! I look forward to seeing what you come up with! Cheers--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 22:23, 31 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hey! Is saw the contributions you made to NIST Special Publication 800-53. Nice work. I rearranged the way the refs were cited a little bit (feel free to revert it if you like), so that the full citation just appears once and each individual footnote just lists the page. That makes it easier on the eyes when you're citing the same ref for different pages multiples times. Keep up the good work! Cheers--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:30, 18 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hi! Thank you for all of your help so far. I greatly appreciate your input and changes. I have a quick question. I am trying to put a link to the actual NIST Special Publication 800-53 pdf in my article, but cannot get the link to work. This is the url: http://csrc.nist.gov/publications/nistpubs/800-53-Rev3/sp800-53-rev3-final_updated-errata_05-01-2010.pdf. Do you have any idea why it is not working in my article? Thank you Buddy4919 (talk) 21:51, 21 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry for the long delay! (I was traveling for the last few weeks and have hardly had a chance to check-in on Wikipedia. But if anything is urgent and you need help, please feel free to email me. I will usually respond fastest to email, and second-fastest to messages left on my own talk page.) It looks like you got the link working.
As for the other issue you ran into, another user adding an unsourced section to the article... use your best judgment about that. If you consider it good information that you expect will get sourced sooner or later, or you want to track down sources for it yourself, then go ahead and keep it. But if you'd rather remove it, go ahead. The general rule for Wikipedia is that everything ought to be able to be sourced, but it doesn't need to be removed just because it isn't sourced yet, unless there are other reasons why editors think it should be removed (like they think it's dubious). Hope that helps. Happy editing! It looks like that user simply hasn't created a userpage or talk page yet. You can leave them a message by creating their talk page, though, if you like: User talk:Hendersonmc. --Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 17:38, 8 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Buddy4919,

I left some comments about this article at Talk:NIST Special Publication 800-53. I'm not an expert on the subject, but I hope the feedback I left will be helpful for you. Protonk (talk) 01:05, 25 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

GOCE drive newsletter[edit]

Invitation from the Guild of Copy Editors

The Guild of Copy Editors invites you to participate in their September 2011 Backlog elimination drive, a month-long effort to reduce the size of the copy editing backlog. The drive will begin on September 1 at 00:00 (UTC) and will end on September 30 at 23:59 (UTC). We will be tracking the number of 2010 articles in the backlog, as we want to copy edit as many of those as possible. Please consider copy editing an article that was tagged in 2010. Barnstars will be given to anyone who edits more than 4,000 words, with special awards for the top 5 in the categories "Number of articles", "Number of words", and "Number of articles of over 5,000 words". See you at the drive! – Your drive coordinators: Diannaa, Chaosdruid, The Utahraptor, Slon02, and SMasters.

Your Mentor Request[edit]

Hi Lauren, I was just going through my talk page history, and I noticed a you asked if I would be your mentor a while back. I just wanted to apologize for never replying. At that time I was inactive on Wikipedia for a variety of reasons, mainly my own schooling. I only found the message today when I was looking for something else. I hope you found a suitable mentor, and your project went well. If you ever are in need of a new mentor, or just need help with Wikipedia in general, please feel free to get in touch. Again, sorry it's taken me over a year to respond. AndrewN talk 04:16, 25 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
