@Gwillhickers: hey again, yes I was totally aware, which is actually what compelled me to try drafting a global list (since there surprisingly is none), akin to what you see with "busiest airport" pages on WP, maybe this would be best discussed in a project page? Thanks for taking the time to collect and write this, I don't know where you'd find most of this stuff and some of the sources are new and surprising to me. Most is accurate as phrased, although some of the categories are a stretch. I'm no longer involved with the Illinois Society for Psychic Research (that was in the late 1970s for a few years), "Mr. Kryn" is just the style of some newspapers and not really an accurate naming, not a registered Democrat (have worked within both parties from time to time, and not since 1992 in a named position), etc. (will look again). @Randy Kryn: my pleasure, many of the sources I spotted are online newspaper archives and Google Books entries of things that were originally published in print, since back in the day during much of your notable activity (80s-90s), the internet wasn’t exactly as mainstream as today, but those two resources really provide a good bridge between the “hard-copy past” and the “Internet present”, so this type of work is very doable for most people no matter what type of medium or technology you’re accustomed to using (welcome to the 21st century lol). You might be surprised (as I certainly am) about how much stuff there is out there about you, some interesting stories and data for sure; the Coretta Scott King connection in particular is quite remarkable to say the least, and makes for a nice story early on to really get the ball rolling on the prose of the article.

I guess my time on Wikipedia has made me realize that writing is uniquely therapeutic and relaxing for me, and admittedly I got a little goofy and creative (I know we’re both thinking about the “gangster” label haha) with a few of the category selections, just to kick back and have fun with the drafting process a little bit. But I’ll remove the “stretched” categories and keep the selection straightforward before going live with the article.

No, I'm not knowledgable in 21st century computer tech, my gangster heritage precludes that /s. I've looked at some of the sources and this brings back good memories, the psychic society was fun and made many friends, I see you got the Ken Manson science fiction club mention (Ken died last month, a bad loss of a good buddy), and I have no idea how anyone found and listed the Coretta King letter (that was done after writing an editorial for my college newspaper). One item among several not here is my service on the 1992 Democratic National Platform Committee (representative from Wisconsin for Jerry Brown), I think the Washington Times had an article about it (I submitted an amendment about hemp and marijuana legalization, which of course was defeated - although chairman Nancy Pelosi said I woke up the meeting which had gotten pretty boring by that point, and was about 25 years before its time in the Democratic Party). Maybe a mention David Dellinger, Bradford Lyttle, and Abbie Hoffman's son Andrew as fellow arrestees at that 1996 protest. Thank you again, a surprise to come on line to. Ha ha, the ole King-Pelosi work around. There might be something in the Madison, Wisconsin newspapers about the 1992 Platform Committee appointment (I did a nice bit for the Brown campaign and came up with the strategy for him to have a speaking role at the convention without endorsing Clinton, which he did not want to do, by having him second his own nomination, but that was never sourced anywhere) but not sure. I am listed as a member of that 1992 committee in the convention booklet. Lots of fun things within all of this stuff. Thanks for the trip down memory lane! If so, we can cite that as a source for your 1992 committee membership as a nice chunk of data to add to the draft. @Randy Kryn: I have the WP coding stuff down to a science so you don’t have to worry about that. For any data entries, if you simply find the sources (physical or digital) and tell me the key pieces of info (author, title, publisher, date, etc), I know how to easily transcribe that into the inline citation templates, would be a nice and fun collaborative project IMO (thanks for the Chicago Whip edits by the way, I feel like that page has a lot of potential) Btzl (talk) 12:13, 13 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Just got back online, and have to go again for awhile. The Whip page was a good addition to Wikipedia's African American newspaper collection, nice work. The official convention book looked like this, and probably my only mention in it was the Democratic National Platform Committee members list.
