Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Semmelweis University, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. You must specify a reason for removing the maintenance template in the edit summary or on the article talk page. ArbCom 2019 election voter message

Hello! Voting in the 2019 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 on Monday, 2 December 2019. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate in the 2019 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. References on Honda RC213V

Hey there Brainsizematters, I wanted to thank you for adding references to the RC213V article. However they appear to have been added as external links. The correct way of adding references can be found here, as external links are often removed from Wikipedia articles. Greyjoy ^talk 14:37, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

I like using links because you can now link to a highlight, making it easier for the reader to see exactly where the reference is. Do you mean to say that some Wiki robot is programmed to remove them if they are not done correctly? In what way? Brainsizematters (talk) 14:46, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

While I appreciate that you prefer using external links, Wikipedia has rules to maintain consistency throughout Wikipedia. The external links would most likely be removed by other editors as per Wikipedia's manual of style. Greyjoy ^talk 14:51, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

So why are they an option is they are frownwd upon? When exactly are they considerd appropriate? They are far superior to citing the whole article because they link to the exact section you are referencing. Please refer me to the section of the style book that covers this topic, not a page on citations for beginners. Brainsizematters (talk) 14:55, 18 September 2022 (UTC)

I have included a link to Wikipedia:External links in my previous message which provides rules in regards to their use. But the abridged version is "External links normally should not be placed in the body of an article. All external links must conform to certain formatting restrictions." External links are generally restricted to the external links section, and "Sites that have been used as sources in the creation of an article should be cited in the article and linked as references". I doubt that you are going to get blocked from editing for it, your edits are actively trying to improve the article so they are clearly made in good faith. I just don't want to see all these references removed because they are formatted as external links, I can't give any sort of timeframe because it's based entirely on other editors.
