Running bots[edit]

Hi! I don't know who runs this bot, so I left the message here. By the way, that would be a very helpful thing to put on it's user page.

Please see the policies an WP:BOT, you need to discuss and tell people you're running a bot, and what it will do. --Phroziac (talk) 17:39, 22 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Robot humour[edit]

I realise that you're adding links to the Bosnian-language Wikipedia, but I did find the edit summary robot Adding: bs very amusing! --Gareth Hughes 00:12, 10 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Good Advice, Thanks![edit]

Thanks Bota47 - I'm new, but already run into what someone calls POV BOT GANGS - I'm not exactly sure what they are yet, but they sure are nasty. Do you think keeping a list of these members is wise, or should I just ignore them? What are your thoughts? Theo 13:17, 18 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Gnome[edit]

It appears you linked Rotary Engine to fr:Moteur gnome. In general this would not be correct, there's a separate article for Gnome. Are you sure this link is correct? Maury 14:30, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I dont know, my robot Bota47 just added this link, because fr:Moteur gnome has link to Rotary engine. --Li-sung 15:32, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That seems to suggest the French version is incorrectly linked. Can you fix that? Maury 22:41, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is a automated to all bot operators[edit]

Please take a few moments and fill in the data for your bot on Wikipedia:Bots/Status Thank you Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 18:57, 12 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Automated message to bot owners[edit]

As a result of discussion on the village pump and mailing list, bots are now allowed to edit up to 15 times per minute. The following is the new text regarding bot edit rates from Wikipedia:Bot Policy:

Until new bots are accepted they should wait 30-60 seconds between edits, so as to not clog the recent changes list and user watchlists. After being accepted and a bureaucrat has marked them as a bot, they can edit at a much faster pace. Bots doing non-urgent tasks should edit approximately once every ten seconds, while bots who would benefit from faster editing may edit approximately once every every four seconds.

Also, to eliminate the need to spam the bot talk pages, please add Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard to your watchlist. Future messages which affect bot owners will be posted there. Thank you. --Mets501 00:42, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Red link[edit]

On July 2 last, this bot added hak:Yù-thai Vòng-koet to Kingdom of Judah. That links was red so I deleted it. Any idea what happened there? --Steven J. Anderson (talk) 15:41, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In old revision [1] that link works for me. If it realy appered as red link in article, there was probably temporary problem in software with interwiki links.--Li-sung (talk) 16:05, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Query[edit]

I need help renaming about 200 articles. Doing this by hand would take me all day.

Can your bot rename articles, or be adapted to do so?

If so, please contact me.

Thank you.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
