Editions on WIKIPEDIA

TAT has not started editing any article on WIKIPEDIA as yet whereas the articles about 3 provinces in Thailand, Pathumthani, Songkhla and Petchabun, are not edited by TAT.

Editions with the username borndistinction is just try to find out whether how it works but has not touched any content at all.--Borndistinction (talk) 08:38, 12 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop[edit]

Please stop moving articles without consensus at Wikipedia:WikiProject Thailand or any of the talk pages of the articles being moved. Moving an article from Nan, Thailand to Nan city (with lowercase "c") is highly improper. Badagnani (talk) 11:42, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was trying to get the Nan city back to Nan, Thailand or shall i move Nan city to Nan City and then redirect it from Nan, Thailand. Is that what you mean?--Borndistinction (talk) 03:49, 25 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

additions to province articles[edit]

Thank you for your additions to Thai province articles. However, your additions are problematic because they look like a travel guide. A general overview of a province should not contain a listing of every place that tourists like to go in that province. (For an example of an article I recently wrote about a province in Cambodia that I think is a good model, see Ratanakiri Province.) It might be better if you split up these lists to the pages of the districts in which the sights are located (so then it is at least easier to incorporate them into more local articles), or if you created new pages for sights that are notable. Or you could create a section like "Culture in ____" and place the wats there. Mangostar (talk) 08:11, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

In addition to the above, your contribution to Narathiwat Province‎ was a copyright violation. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Village pump". You can also leave a message on my talk page. --Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:09, 4 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Born Distinction on behalf of Tourism Authority of Thailand presents all the information about the destinations in Thailand. All the information brought on to the WIKIPEDIA by User:borndistinction are the true source from Tourism Authority of Thailand i.e. TAT is the owner of the content. So born Distinction has not violated any copyright violation.

Moving towns in Thailand to ... town[edit]

Hi please don't move towns to something ...town. The towns should be on the main page without the town tail on it and so as to avoid confusion on the province of the same name. a notice at the top saying

this article is about the town of .... For the article on the province of the same name of which it is part of please see .... Province

There is no reason if this is carried out why any settlements in Thailand should be called ....town as this is the incorrect title for the article ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 12:18, 5 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding copyright issues[edit]

I don't think you quite understood my post, though I appreciate your apparent efforts in attempting to comply. You posted a release of material to your user page and in other places but that does not comply with the standard. Let me repeat and them I'll parse it a bit; you must:

  • Make a note permitting reuse under the GFDL at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en at wikimedia dot org or a postal message to the Wikimedia Foundation.

The first bullet point requires that you post the GFDL notice in place of the copyright notice on the external website, not here. Both of these methods show that you are actually associated with the site hosting the content, and have the authority to release the material. Posting here doesn't show this, as accounts are anonymous. I hope this helps.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 01:24, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I understood what you mean... but that website does not belong to us and TAT is the original owner of the content. So right now... every matter is under consideration as well as on process too.--Borndistinction (talk) 04:55, 8 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Borndistinction, Wikipedia needs an email from an official address clarifying this copyright matter. Could someone at the TAT send an email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org explaining...
  • That Borndistinction is an account authorized to post on behalf of the TAT
  • That the content posted is the original work of the TAT
  • That the other sites that host this content are not the author of this content and are hosting it with TAT's permission (or have wrongfully copied TAT's content)
When you have done this, please tell me so that I can have someone restore the articles that were deleted. Mangostar (talk) 22:41, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

May 2008[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. -- RyRy5 (talkReview) 07:37, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The recent edit you made to Amnat Charoen Province constitutes vandalism, and has been reverted. Please do not continue to vandalize pages; use the sandbox for testing. Thanks. —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 07:56, 11 May 2008 (UTC))[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing, such as the edit you made to Khon Kaen Province. If your vandalism continues, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Oda Mari (talk) 16:08, 11 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do not misunderstand[edit]

All the deletions were not the intention of vandalism but was to clean up the part uploaded by myself that was considered to look as a travel guide.

So now, I'm going to clean up the unnecessary part of the attractions uploaded by me. I'm doing this so that it would match the concept of wikipedia but not to violate any rules of wikipedia. So please understand my intention.

In case, there is a need to change any of my work... please inform me instead of misunderstanding it. Thank you in advance --Borndistinction (talk) 03:11, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One article has already been cleaned up while kept only the highlight content of each attraction. The article is Khon Kaen Province... Have a look! --Borndistinction (talk) 10:00, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please add this template to the talk page of articles you add content to[edit]

Please add the template {{TAT}} to the talk pages of the articles you add content to. This will make it clear in the future (for people who were not a part of this discussion) that the entries were added with the consent of the TAT. This will prevent articles from being wrongly deleted in the future.

Thank you... I'll surely do that soon.--Borndistinction (talk) 04:13, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

TAT Truth[edit]

A tag has been placed on Medical Tourism in Thailand, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Medical Tourism in Thailand and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Sfmammamia (talk) 01:00, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you would like a copy of the article to be restored to your userspace so that you may work on addressing the concerns about the page, you may contact one of the admins listed at Category:Wikipedia administrators who will provide copies of deleted articles. Please keep in mind that if you intend to try to rewrite the article, it must be written in a neutral, non-promotional way and based on reliable sources. No original research or copyright violations are permitted. --Sfmammamia (talk) 05:31, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Well.. if i still have a back up of my original version... from which i can just rewrite (keeping the policy and rules in mind)... do i still have to get the content back from administrator? --Borndistinction (talk) 10:21, 23 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's less promotional, so I will remove that tag. However, it still needs more references, particularly for the assertion that some of the courses are "outstanding". And some of the writing needs to be more encyclopedic in tone, for example: "The Thai people are pretty laid-back and don’t complain a lot even if they lose" and "The Thais think it’s funny when they see foreign visitors mistakingly doing this". ... discospinster talk 14:06, 24 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

OK sure... i'll adjust that soon... anyways.. Thank you--Borndistinction (talk) 04:39, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've provided all the necessary citations for the article and adjusted more to be encyclpedic tone...please have a look. If there is any point missed out.. please let me know.. i'll do that too. Thanks--Borndistinction (talk) 07:13, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's much better. I've made a few changes to the wording and took out the "Etiquette" section since it was all unsourced. ... discospinster talk 23:58, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Bangkok[edit]

Hi Borndistinction, I undid your edit because although I'm sure you put a lot of effort into it, it appears to be unsourced. If you can find sources for it then that would be great, thanks. Deamon138 (talk) 16:17, 7 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging.
