Welcome![edit]

Hello, Boogiezoez, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Ross Golan, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! OK, so you're just User talk:Unknownmusicpublishing (I base this also on technical evidence) and rather than address the COI and change the name, you made a new account--that's not helpful. First, address the conflict of interest, and then explain to us that you understand how Wikipedia works (by way of reliable secondary sources, for starters) and that you will abide by the best practices for paid/COI contributors. November 2023[edit]

Your account has been blocked indefinitely for advertising or promotion and violating the Wikimedia Foundation's Terms of Use. This is because you have been making promotional edits to topics in which you have a financial stake, yet you have failed to adhere to the mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a form of conflict of interest (COI) editing which involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is strictly prohibited. Using this site for advertising or promotion is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia.

If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, please read our guide to appealing blocks to understand more about unblock requests, and then add the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the end of your user talk page. For that request to be considered, you must:

  • Confirm that you have read and understand the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements.
  • State clearly how you are being compensated for your edits, and describe any affiliation or conflict of interest you might have with the subjects you have written about.
  • Describe how you intend to edit such topics in the future.

Hi Drmies! Thanks for your message. I'm just trying to update my boss' releases. If the word "Notable" is offending you, I will simply say "Song Credits". However, it appears I am blocked from editing now. There were many songs that needed to be updated in his discography, and my intent is to only update the general public on this matter. How can I move forward? Boogiezoez (talk) 02:56, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think you can go forward by actually reading the messages left on your two talk pages and the policies they link, and the edit summaries in the history of the article. Drmies (talk) 03:02, 29 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I am urging Wikipedia to please unblock this account as it was created solely due to circumstances in which my last account had a promotional name, thus implying it belonged to an organization or company. One of the proposed solutions was to create a new account with an unbiased name to reflect singular nature, therefore this account was created. I have since read and understood the Terms of Use and paid editing disclosure requirements. I am not being directly paid to edit this page, instead I am paid on salary by my employer, who is the page subject, and was given the task to update said page (of course in an objective manner). I intend to finish editing the primary task at hand, which is to update my employer's songwriting discography, in order to maintain accurate and updated knowledge of my employer. I am drawing my objective information from https://jaxsta.com/, "the world's largest and only official music credits database". Boogiezoez (talk) 23:16, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Boogiezoez:
Based on your assertion that you have read and understand WP:DISCLOSE, and will adhere to it by making the required paid editing disclosure as your first edit following unblock, I am lifting this good block. Please note that you may be blocked again if you fail to promptly make a paid editing disclosure.
Additionally, I strongly recommend that you use the WP:EDITREQ feature instead of directly editing the article in question.
