I'm so impressed with the efficiency of the Wikipedians I've encountered since newly joining as a contributor. Looking at your history, I can't help but notice how wonderfully zealous you are. I love it.

Robert Gilbert talk[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up; didn't know what was going on there. Tony 04:42, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote the article in its entirety, except for review by User:Petaholmes, hoping that this would prompt the writing of other articles on major scientists in the field. There didn't seem to be a disambiguation problem then, but the mechanism was added later by someone. Thanks. Tony 06:59, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to revert vandalism to the Adrian Lamo article.

I'm sorry, but it does not conform to the naming conventions (at least, I think it doesn't, but I don't read the naming conventions often). if you feel I was incorrect, feel free to start a discussion on the talk page. Thanks! « ANIMUM » 15:01, 5 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Happy Rhodes' vocal range[edit]

You deleted the reference to Happy Rhodes' 4 octave vocal range from the introduction of the article. Her wide range is mentioned in every article and interview about her, and unlike similar claims for other singers is actually confirmed with measurements. K8 fan 05:18, 6 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for checking and reverting. I know "original research" is frowned upon in WP, but I'd like to contribute by measuring claimed vocal ranges of various singers. K8 fan 06:56, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting War on Terrorism page[edit]

Today you reverted a change i made to the "war on Terrorism" article. I do not have a problem with this but as you have experience on editing and fixing up articles could you please take a look at the article and see if you can solve a few of its problems?

The biggest concern which many people can not agree on is the "list of combatants". For example currently it does not list the countries of France and Germany even though they have troops on the ground fighting in one of the combat zones.

Surely it is better to remove incorrect information sooner rather than later, instead of leaving an unfair and to be frank insulting list of combatants. Casulties on that info box were also incorrect.

If you can do some changes id be very greatful, i posted on the discussion page about 2 weeks ago that i was going to remove the list. Someone agreed it needed to be changed and no one objected.

declined Speedy[edit]

I do not see how speedy a7 applied to the Regulations for hard hats article, as it is not one of the classes of articles listed under WP:CSD A7. (nor does G11, for it has a GFDL license). I'm not sure its encyclopedic, but I think editing will possibly take care of that. if you think otherwise, AFD is of course the place to see what the consensus thinks. Find A Grave template[edit]

Hi,

I see that you have deleted a lot of occurences of the template {{Find A Grave}}, which User:Pschemp deleted.

This template was in use in quite a few articles' external-links section., and in my view it was valid to have it there, so I've contested its deletion and restored it.

Until this discussion is over, could you please revert your edits, so that we don't lose the information in the template calls? --Alvestrand 05:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that this was a big annoyance, hitting 11 articles in my watchlist. You could have at least converted the template into a simple link, rather than just deleting it. I have no idea why an innocuous but useful template was deleted in the first place. Hal Jespersen 15:53, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did not check the content or context of the link before it was deleted, I merely saw a broken template link and assumed that it was because the link was unnecessary rather than because of the format of the template. Sorry. Bobo. 16:40, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the reply. It turns out that a generous system administrator restored the template this morning and it was relatively simple to use the undo command on the 11 articles. Hal Jespersen 17:28, 3 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The template exists - Pschemp hasn't nominated it for deletion after I restored it, so in theory, it's stable. The only way I can figure out which articles you touched is by perusing your edit history - and I suspect that you're better at scripts'n'bots than I am. --Alvestrand 13:03, 4 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Find a grave removal[edit]

Why did you remove [[Template:Find A Grave]] from Shoeless Joe Jackson? Miss Mondegreen talk  07:27, August 3 2007 (UTC)

Hi!

You rolled back an anon's edits to Containerization and Talk:Containerization. While his edits to the article were poorly formed and seemed to indicate a lack of understanding of how Wikipedia works, it seems like he's genuinely trying to make the article better and more NPOV. Removing his perfectly valid comments on the talk page (and especially doing so using rollback, rather than providing a reason in the edit summary) seems quite harsh. I've reinstated his edit to the talk page.

Thanks! kmccoy (talk) 03:04, 7 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

English Cricketers[edit]

Well done on doing those 'A's Blythed had done boxes for. He's determined to cover every English first class player who doesn't already have an article as you probably know. wikibreak[edit]

Unfortunately I have to go on a long wikibreak. There are projects in the outside world that need to be addressed. This will take a long time for it to be sorted out. I do not expect it to be resolved until at least the New Year but realistically I do not expect the project to be complete until Febuary or March if not potentially later. In fact I do not have an exact time scale all I know is that it will take a long time to complete. I do fully intend to come back to wikipedia and carry on with the English cricketers project. Hello, I was wondering if you could keep an eye on the Railtrack article. 21:12, 21 August 2007 Bobo192 (Reverted edits by 70.176.109.143 (talk) to last version by 70.108.118.206)
As an explanation, the above is useless. It just says what you did (which is obvious anyway and doesn't require explanation.)
It doesn't say why you did it.
I know why you did it (the addition is irrelevant), but I imagine that newer contributors have no idea. This is evidenced by the fact that 70.176.109.143 and particularly Mastariale21 (who is a brand new user) have gone to quite some effort to restore and improve it. (Mastariale21 spent over an hour on it.)
Although strongly tempted to revert it all myself (just like you did), I'm loath to discourage a new user by doing this. So instead I've attempted to make it seem more relevant ... Your thoughts? Cheers, Pdfpdf 03:06, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Though I simply reverted the edits made by this anonymous user, as you go on to state, the article did in itself need lots of cleanup which I felt I wasn't able to do by myself, knowing little about the subject matter. Thank you very much for taking this job on yourself. Hopefully this kind of incident will not happen too often from here on. Bobo. 03:10, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I still think it's irrelevant; I know very little about professional basketball, but I do know it has nothing to do with gospel music!
I'm afraid this sort of incident happens quite frequently, particularly with new users. I'm going through another one at the moment with Matt Bianco. Cheers, Pdfpdf 03:19, 22 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

William Oates[edit]

Hi Bobo. I have stuck a 'Prod' on your William Oates article because there is a second article on the same chap under the title William F. Oates that I thought had a bit more info in. I've carried across to the William F. Oates article the stuff that you had that the other article didn't, but the joined article is still more substantially Nick Mallory's than yours. I hope you don't mind too much, but I think Oates is probably a bit obscure to warrant two articles! Kind regards. Johnlp 22:31, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was just going to let the prod process take its course, which will leave your Oates piece hanging around until Wednesday evening next before it gets culled. I think your article was probably the original of the two: Nick Mallory probably created the other when he was doing his large-scale push on Yorkshire cricketers, and though Oates was mostly a Derbyshire player, he had a couple of games for Yorkshire in 1956. Johnlp 07:19, 25 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Exactly why do you try to remove valid information from the article? --88.114.242.180 17:53, 27 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reverting[edit]

Some of your reverts at organ (anatomy) have been to a vandalized version. There's no point in reverting an anons vandal edit if it's just going back to one of their former anon vandal edits, is there? Please be sure to check what you are reverting back too, and take a quick look at the recent history and page itself to ensure the resultant page is rubbish free. The current version of the page seems to be riddled with old vandalism, some of it rather obvious. I don't have time to sort through it myself but hopefully you'll be extra careful in future and pass this message on to other editors if you see the same happening. Taiwan and Legislative Violence[edit]

Your edit readded in a large list of incidents which appear to be pushing a POV against Taiwan (the issue I've raised on the talk page). Also the source removed is only applicable to Taiwan and cannot be used to say that incidents still regularly occur on a worldwide basis (the article was originally copied from the Chinese wiki which stated that incidents still regularly occur particularly in Taiwan and the source was used to back this up). I reverted your edits for these reasons and asked that users bring it up on the talk page, but sadly some admins have chosen not to do this and I can't change back again due to 3RR. Hopefully we can discuss this on the talk page. 58.164.33.106 03:53, 9 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Your sandbox link to George Whitehead now links to a disambiguation page listing three men of that name.
