Coindesk Kudos to You; Promotion vs News[edit]

I think you did a very good job writing the Coindesk entry! I wanted to alert you that, for accuracy I changed "news" to "promotion" as the site provides information that does not meet the standards of journalism. [1] Thanks for your hard work and best regards! --Lfrankblam 22:14, 26 October 2014 (UTC)

Response[edit]

Will analyse source to see if promotional or balanced. Not sure what part of the shared link describes promotion / news. Does Techcrunch 'promote' startups and tech? Yes, by reporting on it. Hmm. Bitkoof (talk) 16:56, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Techcrunch[edit]

Techcrunch is most likely promotion, as long as it is written neutrally it is probably ok. It may seem like a fine point but I recently changed Zerohedge from news to opinion, and the aggregation opinion and of news. Specialty web blogs tend to be narrow and thus biased in their presentation of information, that is fine but we can be neutral in our presentation of them! Response[edit]

Thanks, RE: ZeroHedge, yes that seems very opinion led. I think CD news articles seem balanced. Maybe their opinion pieces need to be a bit more obvious they are opinion by the writer (most writers of opinion seem to be very pro bitcoin). Not sure where the guide area stands in relation to this - education or promotion? Bitkoof (talk) 16:56, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]
