File copyright problem with File:Marcusspeh.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Marcusspeh.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Eeekster (talk) 22:51, 24 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello[edit]

Hello, Dr. Birkenkrahe. I was looking over the article about yourself and your edits to it. None of them seem to be problematic, but I thought I would make you aware of a few of our policies about writing about oneself. Wikipedia:Autobiography and Wikipedia:Conflict of interest both cover those topics. As I said, your edits to the article do not seem to be a problem, but I would like to warn you that it is possible, even probable, that someone will question your neutrality in the future. Thank you for your contributions, but perhaps you should consider writing about topics not directly related to yourself. As WP:AUTO points out, the generally accepted way to fix an article without editing yourself is to request the improvements from a neutral editor. I would be glad to do that for you if you like. Cheers, PrincessofLlyr royal court 14:26, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

hello, thanks - I tried to do myself justice but of course I appreciate neutrality and would love to move on and write about other things, most likely literature. I gladly accept and welcome your offer - please edit mercilessly and appropriately. I'm curious to see what remains! On an unrelated note: you've got a nice user page! Tolstoy, Asimov, Bradbury, yes! And while I got your attention: do you think it more appropriate to edit using another than my birth name? Cheers! birkenkrahe (talk) 20:47, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I will work on cleaning up the article and most likely ask you for clarification on several points in the near future. Glad you enjoyed my userpage. I love reading and have spent a great deal of my time here writing about books. About your username, according to our policy about multiple accounts, you could create another account while retiring this one. Doing that, you would have to make sure that this account is not used again, as sockpuppetry (see previous link) is very serious. However, you could also request a username change. Either of these are good ideas because editing under your real name can leave you vulnerable to harassment, especially in your case, where it would be fairly easy to get a hold of your personal information. Also, despite the fact that your area of work offers you a higher level of expertise in some areas, I have found that anonymity can be a blessing. It is something for you to decide. I hope you enjoy working here. It appears that you've not had much interaction with other users. For the most part, I have found the community to be friendly and welcoming, and hope you will experience the same as you become more involved. Feel free to ask me any question; I am qualified as an adopter, which means I can answer most basic questions about Wikipedia and the way things work here. Do you think it more appropriate to edit using another than my birth name? Would you like to have another persons opinion on this too? I think one should use one's real name for writing an article about oneself, because that is more honest and I appreciate that honesty.-- Greatgreenwhale (talk) 17:44, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
True, but there are privacy concerns, and if he refrains from editing about himself, then it would not be a problem to edit under another name. As I mentioned before, it is a personal choice. PrincessofLlyr royal court 18:57, 26 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
