Another welcome to wikipedia[edit]

I just undid your recent edit at List of medallists. It was intended as sort of a learning thing. Notice that the lists are arranged alphabetically by the sculptor's name. If you wish to add to the list please find the right place to add the name. Also I am very close to removing all the red links in the lists. A name shows up as a red link because there is no article about that artist. The list is (or should be) a list of notable medalists, and on wikipedia "notable" often means that there is an article at the other end of the link. If you wish to add names to a list such as this one please consider creating a "stub" article. This is a short article about the subject, but it will generate a blue link. I have left all those red links as an incentive for folks to create articles but when I decide that no such articles are appearing, which could happen pretty soon, I will remove the red linked names. Also, if you put something, anything, on your user page your user name will appear as a blue link rqther than a red one, suggesting that there is something at the the other end of that link too. Thanks for correcting me. I haven't noticed the ordering of names. The sculptor is a named one, he has a wiki page also, in French. Unfortunately I don't speek French so I am not able to translate the page to English.
Personally I don't agree with removing red link names. The collection of the names even only with birth and death dates helps me in my numismatic work. As time goes on all red will become blue ones, but if we have to collect the names again, this work will fail. Please reconsider your opinion on this. Yours, Astrocoins (talk) 07:06, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Your argument is enough for me. Please do keep in mind that even if I (or now more likely someone else) did remove all the red links, you could still find the names in the article's "history" tab. I just wanted to know that someone had a plan or use for them and yours is good enough for me. Carptrash (talk) 15:17, 11 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You spamlinked to your own website[edit]

There have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Request reason:

My addition was not a self promotion. I edited the article to inform community that there is an evidence that this page contains false data. I supported evidence, a picture and the description of an existing commemorative medal, as an external link. That is true that I linked my page on this topic, but you should know that these information cannot be found on any other page. I would be glad to link any other exsting evidence, but there is no any. Even if you block my addition, the medal still exist, and the wikipedia page contains false data. If you look at my all contribution you can see, that my addition always contained objective evidence.

Decline reason:

As far as I can see, you have only once linked to your web site, and that does not seem enough to justify an indefinite block, so I am willing to consider unblocking you. However, your username does not conform to Wikipedia policy, so you must offer to change your username. Please post a new unblock request, this time using {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} instead of {{unblock|Your reason here}} (but of course replacing "Your proposed new username" and "Your reason here" with appropriate text). If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.
