rabindranath tagore transcription[edit]

Hey, sorry for the late reply. Here's the transciption:

ভুলবোনা আর সহজেতে

সেই প্রাণে উঠবে মেতে

মৃত্যু মাঝে ঢাকা আছে

যে অন্তহীন প্রাণ

Bhulbona ar shohojete

Shei praan e mon uthbe mete

Mrittu majhe dhaka ache

je ontohin praan

(I shall not forget easily

My mind shall exult at the thought

Death is hidden

in the midst of the eternal heart)

বজ্রে তোমার বাজে বাশি

সে কী সহজ গান

সেই সুরেতে জাগব আমি

Bojre tomar baje bashi

She ki shohoj gaan

Shei shurete jagbo ami

(Thunder plays on your pipe

What an easy song it is

I shall awake to the tune)

সেই ঝড় যেন শয় আনন্দে

চিত্তবীনার তারে

সপ্ত-সিন্ধু দশদিগন্ত

নাচাও যে ঝঙ্কারে!

Shei jhor jeno shoi anonde

Chittobinar taare

Shotto-shundu dosh digonto

Nachao je jhonkare!

(As if a hundred joys in that storm

To the strings of the mind's lyre

To the seven rivers and ten directions

With music bring to dance!

A couple of points:

1. In the second stanza, I've underlined ki, because it might be written as both কি or কী. If it written as the former, the line becomes: Is it an easy song? If written as the latter, the line becomes: What an easy song it is! The latter seemed more likely to me, and I have written it so.

2. In the third stanza, I've underlined shotto-shundu, because it didn't make sense to me. I have changed it to shapta-shindhu, which would mean seven rivers. If that is incorrect, it might be shotto-shundar (সত্য-সুন্দর), which means God; although in my opinion the former seems more correct to me.

Hope the transcription is useful! --Woodelf 06:14, 11 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:36, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Replaceable fair use File:NagHammadi 1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:NagHammadi 1.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Finnusertop (talk | guestbook | contribs) 20:35, 26 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
