Incorrect addition to Dassault Rafale

References have to actually support the text they follow per WP:Verify. Your reference says India selected Dassault as the preferred bidder and that they were beginning contract negotiations. There is no order until they sign a contract. -Fnlayson (talk) 18:49, 16 August 2012 (UTC)

I like your user page very much. It gives me an idea of who you are and that you are a very nice person.

• signing your name

It's really important to sign your posts the way I described above. That way your name can be clicked and it will link to your name as mine does below. (Remember, you can just click on the pencil image on the edit tool bar and it will do the signing for you.

The hardest part of editing articles is getting the right information and using references. See Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. I've read help pages and guideline pages over and over to try to understand how things work. I learned a lot by reading pages in the "edit view" so I could copy the way the wiki mark up is. I still do that. Start with editing little things, like punctuation.

Have you read Jaipur to see if it's correct? I can't edit many articles on India because I don't have the references.

protection issue

I've replied on my talk page and named some admins who could protect your page if necessary. I'll keep an eye on it too, and if I see the same vandal repeating his behavior, I'll report it.

Basically, it happens now and then that some IP or even an editor vandalizes your page. I just got a notice today that I was being talked about on AN/I and it was a phony notice from User:Mark Parrot - basically a vandal. Don't let it upset you, as you can just revert your page to before the vandal came by. Do you know how to revert by going into your page history and restoring your version? I've contacted Crisco 1492 who is an admin and also adopts people and he has agreed to adopt you! He is a Canadian but lives in Indonesia and often writes articles about Indonesian writers and films and other non-western subjects. He's also good about finding sources.

Also good it that Crisco is very active and is on wikipedia most of the time. (He does sleep and shower!)

Help in maintaining NPOV on historical Pacific War aviator

Hi Arun. I'm looking for some third parties to review a problem editor who (in my opinion) continues to violate the NPOV policy of Wikipedia on the page of a Pacific War aviator, Mitsuo Fuchida. After exhausting myself trying to maintain viable content in the "Controversy" section, I'm asking for a page ban for this user. Hi, I have been trying to edit some pages in Hindi Wikipedia but the supported citations or URL's are very less (of the topic in Hindi language searching) in number in comparison to the same topic in English searching. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! User group for Military Historians

Greetings,

"Military history" is one of the most important subjects when speak of sum of all human knowledge. To support contributors interested in the area over various language Wikipedias, we intend to form a user group. It also provides a platform to share the best practices between military historians, and various military related projects on Wikipedias. An initial discussion was has been done between the coordinators and members of WikiProject Military History on English Wikipedia. Now this discussion has been taken to Meta-Wiki. Contributors intrested in the area of military history are requested to share their feedback and give suggestions at Talk:Discussion to incubate a user group for Wikipedia Military Historians.

April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

• tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
• adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
• updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
• creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

Wikiproject Military history coordinator election nominations open

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election are now open. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes.
