Image copyright problem with Image:188-051.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading Image:188-051.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Butseriouslyfolks 04:58, 29 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As long as you are rewriting this article, could you please cite your sources as you go? IPSOS (talk) 17:50, 22 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Sonsofhorus1.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sonsofhorus1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 03:22, 25 December 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih (talk) 03:22, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Salford[edit]

Hello there! Thanks for the contact.

I'm in the middle of a major revamp of the article (in case you hadn't noticed), and do hope that my work is okay by everyone.

The figure for Salford's 2001 population does indeed seem to be correct. The 2001 census localities are based on the pre-1974 boundaries, and Salford's for that year, give a population of 72,750. Statistics.gov.uk (the Office for National Statistics) gives this figure here.

Of course this is not the figure for the wider City of Salford (!) which has a population of 200k+. I would imagine the drop in population is due to the slum clearances of the 60s and 70s as well as the amount of students at the University that are not classed as permanent residents and thus excluded from the total.... I'll try to work on a source.

Might be a silly question on my part, but are you local to the city? I once lived there but was quite a few years ago now. -- Jza84 · (talk) 20:20, 22 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. As you seem to be the only other person watching Egyptian mythology articles at the moment, I thought I would inform you that someone recently moved the article on Khonsu to the title above. Obviously the title's been mis-formatted, but aside from that there's the broader issue of whether the article should be titled "Khonsu" or "Khons" or whatever other variants of his name there are. Your input on the talk page would be helpful. A. Parrot (talk) 20:33, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Same user, deleting text saying no link to Amun. Dougweller (talk) 09:51, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I thought you might want to take a look at this article and see if you know anything about the subject. The article is based on a century-old book about the names of stars and constellations, which apparently posited the existence of such a god based on some questionable constellation etymology. (Incidentally, the article was created by User:Xact, who added similar material to Set (mythology) a while back, before you deleted it.) I'm going to nominate it for deletion in the next couple of days, and have detailed the reasons why on the talk page; I just wanted to be sure you hadn't read anything about a god Kapi, either. I've never nominated an article for deletion before and want to make absolutely sure I've covered all possibilities before doing so. A. Parrot (talk) 04:11, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Family tree of the Egyptian gods[edit]

The problem you weighed in on at Talk:Egyptian pantheon is back; see my post at the bottom of that page for details. A. Parrot (talk) 19:08, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Question out of nowhere[edit]

This is a complete shot in the dark, but do you speak French or German, by any chance? A. Parrot (talk) 20:19, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

No sorry ... wish I did:)Apepch7 (talk) 23:50, 27 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Rats. A lot of Egyptological work is published in those languages, which means I can't read a lot of the information that's out there. I often see a mention of a particular resource and think it would be very useful if only I could understand it. It would be nice to have someone interested in the subject who might be willing to translate things without charging loads of money. I should probably ask User:Nephiliskos sometime, but the source I want at the moment is French, not German. Anyway, it was worth a try. Thanks for answering. A. Parrot (talk) 06:18, 28 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
yes they always tell budding Egyptologists to learn French and German ... but apart from schoolboy French I'm hopeless at languages ... I have resorted to Yahoo Babelfish in the past Apepch7 (talk) 22:41, 30 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Questions at Egyptian pantheon[edit]

I've asked two questions about the naming and organization of the Egyptian pantheon article at Talk:Egyptian pantheon#Move proposal and Talk:Egyptian pantheon#List of deities. I thought I'd ask for your input if you're around, as you're about the only editor, other than me, who is much involved in AE religion articles. A. Contests[edit]

User:Dr. Blofeld has created Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/Contests. The idea is to run a series of contests/editathons focusing on each region of Africa. He has spoken to Wikimedia about it and $1000-1500 is possible for prize money. As someone who has previously expressed interest in African topics, would you be interested in contributing to one or assisting draw up core article/missing article lists? He says he's thinking of North Africa for an inaugural one in October. If interested please sign up in the participants section of the Contest page, thanks.♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 01:11, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
